    Question should be, how can we become more independent and stop others from colonizing Africa?

    • @Augfordpdoggie

      start with the things that are passing as African music today-Afro Pop, and Amapiano are not African music. they are watered down versions of hip hop and techno. Gone is the real rhumba, luo music, benga, mbaqanga, and chimurenga music. Young people today want to be American hip hoppers so bad-this is the knockout punch for African culture

    If slavery made countries rich then why isn't Africa or Muslim nations not rich.

    • @AfricasOpinionFestar
      @AfricasOpinionFestar  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Most slaves were bought from Africa and transported to the Western Europe and Muslim countries for labour and by then, there was batter trade as the exchange system, there was no way there were fair terms of exchange.

    • @YT-xk5jl
      @YT-xk5jl 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @AfricasOpinionFestar This is redundant. Doesn’t matter what they traded with. If Africans had traded the guns or pearls acquired from Europeans for cattle, diamond, things if significant value etc then that would have ultimately grown our economies. So it’s not the trade system but the fact that the trade itself was unfair. E.g Imagine trading an mp3 for a stereo of a microwave.

The ones still living say this... begrudgingly, that the country as a whole was much better under true rule of law. Everything worked smoothly. It was a rare mutually beneficial dynamic. This is true for persons from my ethnicity whose forefathers had a different experience under the same system than mine. The same applies to others of different ethnicities with different experiences under the same system. Each of us navigates the contemporary version of that system using our own defense mechanisms. There are smart, exposed and well educated Ugandans capable of leading the country now unlike in the 1960s. Some restructuring is key to have leaders that are willing to prioritize people's needs over personal gains. Perhaps, we could also dismantle dictatorial tendencies.

    Perhaps asking your people if taking advice from successful countries is a good idea would be a better question to ask. Follow the best examples of what works from ALL countries - stop measuring everything by the skin colour.
    Doing fair business with other nations, in modern times, is not being "colonized: but if your politicians are taking money and stealing that instead of making and maintaining infrastructure then you will be a poor country, with corrupted leaders of your own kind.
    It's not so much that you would want people of ANY other colour in charge of your county, skin colour is not the point - it is about everyone agreeing on the rule of law and having an honest government. THAT is worth working for - keep racism out of discussions - it leads nowhere.

I think we Africans are naturally placable, therefore, some of us - Africans and Jamaicans - may still welcome white rule, despite our history of oppression under their rule and knowing they do everything in the best interest of their own race, at our expense.

    A point that you seem to have neglected, the domination of the Spanish in South America led to the extinction of the American Indians in the mines (the pope had to intervene, but the damage was done...), the aborigines of Australia disappeared and the people who lived in the Caribbean islands were eliminated by the Portuguese... many other examples...
    Because you see recolonization does not mean that you will survive, there are enough historical examples that you should read before playing with that idea.
    And Westerners are gone? Really? you need to read and listen to the reports from their organizations present on this soil(the US Congress is quite transparent). And you should learn the history of the continent, because you seem to have only a fragmented vision. the separatists like Olympia who wanted to build their country in the right way but who were eliminated and replaced (important point!)... I think you need to read more.

      This topic was actually an idea we watched on TH-cam it's self Recolonization of Africa, so we decided to bring it down to our local people.
      And from our discoveries, no one will obviously allow the recolonization based on the past experiences.
      In the 21st century, it won't be the colonalisation we had back in the days, it will be a totally different style because majority of Black people have travelled far and wide, so this time around, it's totally a new style.
      Poor as Africa might be despite being the richest continent, we believe that we are okay, even if we are still struggling with corruption.

      ok, but the young man who speaks at the beginning is very right, there is a reason why people like Olympia, Lumumba (....) were eliminated, certainly they wanted to make the development of their country a priority, but they thought in terms of nationalism (key here), with priority given to their people.
      They were eliminated and replaced by people who put Western nations first. Corruption exists everywhere, the former minister of Vietnam has just been sentenced to death, and China does it regularly.
      Truong My Lan sentenced to death (vietnam) - read her story (it will look familiar)
      For what?
      because the nationalists will make those who try to destroy the country pay the highest price.
      The problem of corruption (which exists everywhere) is due to the fact that the corrupts are not destroyed by the nation, the only way to dissuade them.
      If people can kill you in the street without repercussions you wouldn't go out anymore...
      A single individual can ruin a nation or a continent if there is no control.(by control, I mean for those people to pay the highest price possible when caught)
