Your steering column moved quite a bit too. That ain't helping either.

I still have to tighten the tilt column bolts more, and then maybe adjust the steering box, but it’ll probably need a new box to get all the slop out

Don’t waste your time adjusting the box. Either rebuild or replace. Also check tie rod ends, ball joints. Steering shaft.

Honestly, haven’t seen an old Saginaw 525 manual steering gear. That wasn’t worn out with a lot of play. Pretty easy and in expensive to rebuild.
