    You don’t need to take the upper control arm off

    You can put them on the top without worrying about the springs compressed just making the job harder

      Well thanks I think? Never been complimented on my accent. And it's only old because you just found it. Lol. Have fun with your install, be safe.

    I just want to say I really appreciate you posting your wisdom and helping out hundreds if not thousands of DIY guys like myself, already had issues with my 2.5"spacer & crossed threaded nuts they sent me with the hardware in the Box lastly I ran into the biggest one of all but I did it exactly the way you did with the ratchet strap n jack , saved me alot of time , Thanks again

    Good walk thru - felt that I could do it in about a day and a half. Really makes the truck look better. I have the Trail Boss and only drive highway but it is something to consider. Great instructions. Like it when someone who has been there shows how to do it right and what to expect.

      wattsenough Thank you. Its the first time doing this particular job. Took about 20 minutes per side. Stupid easy. Just pay attention to any clips for wiring or brake lines. There's a lot of videos out there. I just try to make mine a little more detailed and simpler for folks. Sort of break it down for the guy working in his driveway out of a carry around toolbox.

    Would it need a wheel alignment after installing the 2inch lift kit?

    Is it just me or is there no CV boot/axle here? We ran into the issue of having difficulty getting the strut/suspension assembly past the cv boot and the upper sway bar arm (?)...

      Hunter Smith good eye. If you look at 3:24 there is no hub nut. I removed the axle shaft prior to filming

    Is it 2" Rough Country? At 7:30 That silver preload make the coil uplift from original position?

    Good morning. Great video as I consider doing the lift myself. I have a question - at 6:29 you mention that the kit will go in between and then put the cap back on. At 7:48 when the springs are back from the shop, the kit is on top of the cap. What am I missing? I am new to this but want to learn. What is the point of compressing the springs?Thank you very much.

    • @jerseyshorefabricators7431
      @jerseyshorefabricators7431  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theres a preload bushing that goes at the bottom of the strut. I suppose you can go without it, I just prefer to follow the instructions. They are there for a reason.
      Cheers!

    Need to find someone like you for a mechanic, really good video and strait to the point. I leveled my 17 Canyon today, and was my understanding the spacers were placed directly above the cap mount without having to remove it and sandwich it between? is that possible or did they fuck it up, the tech also said he only needed to raise it about 1.25" to make it truly level so that the front wasn't higher than the back..

    • @jerseyshorefabricators7431
      @jerseyshorefabricators7431  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      T C hi and thanks. The preload spacer is there to go u see the spring jump to 11:40 And you'll see. Also, depending on the kit and their instructions for that particular kit, it may be what's called for. Honestly, if the truck looks good and is actually level, no harm. People have been using spacer lifts in jeeps for years and no issues.
      Go ahead and subscribe to the channel. This year we have a lot of changes coming and some more actual fabricating going to happening.
      God bless and have a great day.

    Very nice vid! I liked how you mentioned the torque specs. I leveled my 14 sierra and did not require the top bolt of the spring to come off, I just laid the spacer on top of the whole strut. Can you tel me why this is different? Thanks!

    • @jerseyshorefabricators7431
      @jerseyshorefabricators7431  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dylan Barnett thanks you. There's a preload spacer that goes on the bottom of the spring. The spring compresses it on the strut body. I suppose you could just do the spacer plate. At 11:40 in the video I explain that. Call me crazy, but I was following the directions. Sometimes we do that lol.

      Sorry, I said 11:40 In the video. Check 7:15. My mistake

    I'm looking to level my Colorado this spring... i don't want to mess up the geometry of the suspension, is there any stress on any parts once leveled 2 inches?

    No JSF, the "WSO" footage of the "Brazil second sun" is recent, but it's still showing the same old lens reflection it was proven to be last year.
    On some dates it appears in front of the lake...
    A lens reflection also explains why it vanishes when the sun reaches a particular altitude and angle to the camera.

    • @jerseyshorefabricators7431
      @jerseyshorefabricators7431  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      d5uncr agreed about the lens reflection, but the original from last year is exactly the same. Either way it's all fear porn. We have an alleged mini solar system in our system. That's supposed to takes 3600 years to get here and one planet is 4 times of earth. It's supposed to be here in 20 days. It would be visible to the naked eye by now, like in sci to movies or that documentary the discovery channel did. It's not going to "hide" behind the sun and then on the 23rd, go "showtime"! And rush in like a blitz.

    With the 2 inch kit did you require a wheel alignment? I am doing a 1" RC spacer kit in the coming days and been trying to catch up on this install.

    • @jerseyshorefabricators7431
      @jerseyshorefabricators7431  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Gile rough country. Was like $75, 70 for the shop to do the bearings, and 100 for the alignment.

    Should have gone with the Bilstein 5100 RHA shocks. All you're doing with that garbage "puck" leveling kit is compressing the spring more than it's supposed to be compressed while reducing overall suspension travel. I had a ReadyLift puck kit on my 2010 ram (just like the one you have) and the suspension would bottom out way too early, thus causing terrible ride issues over even slightly rough terrain. I have had the Bilstein 5100 RHA's on my 2016 Canyon for a year, no issues at all, and they work brilliantly. As an added bonus, they even allow for MORE suspension travel than the OEM parts while keeping stock suspension geometry.
    I will never buy a "puck" kit again.

      Wesley Richardson I hear ya. I live bilstien shocks, but that's what the customer wanted, cheap and easy. I personally have never used pucks except on a Grand Cherokee . Customer has since the sold the truck and bought a new ZR2 Colorado.
