I'd like to believe the continuity for the edited cutscene goes like this: as Peter is about to kill Kraven, the symbiote finally starts to take control, so the suit turns into the slimy alien tendrils making Peter less recognisable, since when Peter was in control he had the black raimi suit. Which is why he's able to rip off the symbiote in the end, since it's controlling him from the outside too, making itself vulnerable.

Honestly i like to think that on a “Raimi Suits headcanon” for the game peter uses raimi suit since start then on his transformation he starts using the black raimi suit. After getting in touch with the stone in connors lab the Raimi Black suit transforms into the regular Black Suit from the game and when peter arrives at Kraven’s Mansion, on that first Surge rage moment that happens there the suit goes into its final transformation, the final symbiote suit the game gives us. So that way we’d have 3 variations for symbiote peter instead of 2
Imagine if they add a feature where you can individually choose between combinations of which Symbiot suit you want to choose for your classic Red suit for Symbiot Surge. (Also more Symbiot suits from Comics and Shows)
And still raimi spider man 3's scene of taking off the symbiote is the only one that makes sense. Cause that's the only time where he's naked after taking off the suit
honestly, it's a plot hole BUT and it´s a big BUT... the canister was in connors lab near the meteor shard. i would've done smth with that which wasn´t included
