Sony DCR-DVD7E: The Most Stylish Camcorder Ever?

This is the DCR-DVD7E, released by Sony in 2005.
Bizarrely, as of recording, this review is a World's first, as no one else has filmed a video review of this camcorder!
I think it is the most stylish camcorder that Sony have ever made and may well be the most stylish camcorder made by anyone.
It looks like no other, in fact it most resembles a Sony Discman more than any other camcorder.

I accidentally dropped it out the upstairs window
It survived with just a scratch

Thank you for making this, I've actually began to assemble a bit of a sony handycam collection. I've always been impressed with the quality of these devises . I have also placed a bid on Ebay to pic one up myself .

Nice video. I came across this camera after a bit of research. Pretty little machine isn't it. And it came out four years before the end of the dvd Handycams.

That is such an interesting shape for a camcorder, it reminds me of ye old CD Walkman as well the older floppy disk mavica cameras

Most of these cameras on eBay have sensor problems. I have gone through 3 eBay purchases all have problems. Sony was aware of the ccd issues and for a limited time back then they were repairing them. Now it’s probably 10 to 1 that you’ll get a working one if you try to get one these days. Probably not worth the effort.

Mine gives no picture, only black, probably the CCD or its connector is dead. DVD drive, sound, screen etc. work perfectly. I keep it because it reminds me of floppy and CD Mavicas.

my cam ccd is dead,as i know 100% ccd like this now
