Train Station Machete Attack: Armed Police Responding

- British Transport Police (BTP) and Merseyside Police Responding to a Machete Attack at Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station on the 19th March 2021 at around 11:30. There were two offenders and two victims of the incident, the two offenders dropped the knives and made off into the city centre immediately outside the train station. Armed Response from Merseyside Police began hunting them down where they were later apprehended, the BTP also sent their regionally allocated Armed Response Vehicles (ARVs) from Manchester Piccadilly.

@@idot3331 Are you stupid? The vast majority of Police and Sheriff Depts in the US are underfunded. You must think every Police Dept is like the LAPD or NYPD...
@@colonelsanders1349 Ok, then distribute police funding proportionally. Many police departments in the US are armed like the military, and seem to all have some sort of twisted power complex to go along with it. They act as though they're occupying hostile enemy territory, treating regular people as inferior subjects instead of equals who they're supposed to protect. Maybe they should spend less on excessive weaponry and more on proper education and screening for officers. Clearly this isn't as much of a problem here in the UK, as most police don't have firearms at all, and in my experience are generally quite friendly. However there are still cases of police officers abusing their power, and people becoming officers when they shouldn't ever have been allowed to join the police. I suppose in the UK there should be more funding put towards screening police officers to ensure they are fit for the job.

Same kit + ballistic shield was deployed in Havant, Leigh Park like a month ago for 2 people arrested with offensive weapon charges. Don't act like police anywhere are any less chicken xD

Is there a specialist unit that operate that unmarked ambulance? Such as HEMS, Critical Care Paramedic?

@@johnm84 Unfortunately we do not know the full facts of what happened. The Media are very quick/keen to pick up/maximise police failings/mistakes...but when it comes to their successes...less so.

Armed BTP from Manchester Piccadilly, is Liverpool not good enough to have its own armed BTP must take at least 30 mins on lights and sirens to get from Manchester to Liverpool.
Any one knows that station will tell you some occasions have couple of coppers by WH Smith and that is it, i have been there many of times i have gotten trains through this station and not seen a copper, we’re Manchester Piccadilly i can count 6/8 armed cops at one time
- Yeah it’s just with BTP having their specialist assets regionally based. Manchester get a lot more use out of AFOs just means when we need them in Liverpool they’re 40 miles away. 👍🏻

Is there any advantage of having unarmed police?
Community focused policing instead of Policing through fear when every officer is packing. Also can reduce tensions, having a weapon is an escalator even if it's not drawn or used. It also reduces the spiral of armaments: if all police were armed then more criminals would arm themselves in response. That said, I'd not be against an armed police service personally

A lot of firearms officers want their identify protecting due to the incidents and crimes they work on. Also with people like myself who document and record incidents they work it presents risks with it being in the public domain.

Most British police don't carry guns. Rather they have batons, pepper spray and stab vests, though each department does have a tactical team

@irigouis88 now obviasly there not going to be regulated like alcohol but like current firearms if your an offender you wont be able to get said licence and will also have to pass somekind of training/test to ensure understanding of when and how it can be used and to understand their actions taken with it will be scrutenised like armed police would to a degree, yes it might not lead to a drop in voilence like in this video it wont instantly cancel theft and voilence towards innocent people but it gives them means to defend thereself and intervene to protect others even if they are stoping 2 guilty partys.. in terms of control of the firearm and ammo make it so its only a specific pistol that can be carried like a small caliber revolver reduced to 3 shot control the ammo like big bore rifles here and like latvias police do with there ammo it ALL has to be accounted for you cant loose 1 bullet or you loose your gun even if its shot by accident it has to be accounted for the bullets themselfs can be ID`d they wont end up in illegal circulation just like current firearms its mostly farmers firearms/ammo that are been either stolen or illegaly sold because there is little rules around birdshot you can get alot and dont have to account for were its gone all other firearms in criminal possesion are flat out illegal guns in calibers and capacities that you just cant get legaly theres no criminals with anything beyond the standard farmer firearms + ammo (shotguns and birdshot) no 22 rimfire or long rifle pistol or rifles being used by crims or any bigger bore rifle same as no comp shotguns with high capacity and slugs yet they have all the pistols they could ever want and there not .22 anything they are the proper 9mm small concealable pistols
@irigouis88 bullshit we can own 20shot semi auto rifles in 22lr anything larger is single bolt action not sure about the pistol regs but i know 22lr is the biggest bullet+charge you can have duno capacity limits but there is minimum length so if your right find 5 examples of these firearms being used by criminals in the past 10-20 years.... you wont be able to you will find its all birdshot sotguns and 9mm pistols and other older types like .38 which you cant get legaly here at all besides birdshot....... useing the usa as a example shows how little you know about firearms and your completely missing the point i`ve made .... half the world can carry for self defence useing usa to make a bad example just shows lack of knowledge on this
