    Thank you! You saved me. I cleaned my canister and was struggling to put the springs back on, then I found your video, it’s much appreciated.

    So glad you made this and the prior video! My DC14 is now 7 years old and I cleaned after watching your videos. I started taking it apart before I found you videos and promptly lost that small spring but was able to use a ballpoint pen spring I cut in half to place behind the grey button! Works great!!
    Thanks!!

    Can you please tell me where to find the 2nd spring that holds the red clip up and under tension. I have a DC65 and lost this when replacing the filter. Great video, super helpful, hope to get my Dyson working again.

    Thanks for the video.
    The springs I am having trouble with are the red part on handle that opens the canister bottom.
    It won't click into the unit after you close the canister. I can tell the 2 springs are out of place but not sure where they belong?
    Any tips would be appreciated.🙏🙏

    Is there a place to buy the springs? (Specifically the spring for the red piece.).

    What is the part number for the longer spring mentioned at about the 1min mark? The one that keeps the red canister release thing pushed up? I lost this when cleaning my Dyson.

    Hi, how do U replace the red clip attached to the cyclone?
    Unlike ur footage of the dc40, the clip doesn't come off attached to the spring on this one... I am close to throwing it out of a window!!! Lol!
    Thanks

    While trying to replace the small spring it went flying and unable to locate..so I took a pen apart and cut the spring in half with a wire cutter and it worked! I had to use a needle nose pliers to hold it in place while i snapped the topic place.

    Good information as I have lost the smaller one when cleaning out my Dyson could you tell me the approximate size I would need to order.

    • @VacTech
      @VacTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there , my apologies for the lateness in my reply . Dyson does offer replacement springs . I can provide you with the part number based on your model if you like .
      If it’s a DC41 spring the part # would be : DY-965156-01 normally found online for about 5 bucks .

    Do you know of anyplace to get a replacement Silver release button? Mine is worn through and Im not jazzed about buying a complete cyclone unit.

      Hello , from what I’ve seen they don’t offer the grey button on the Cannister as a separate part . In the past with parts laying around I have offered to pop one on but may be hard to find online . Replacement part # for the bin itself with the button and spring is : DY-920624-01 new I’ve seen sell online for about 40$ . Hope this helps in some way for anyone out there :)

    How do you remove bottom catch that the release button presses on to empty bin?

    • @VacTech
      @VacTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If i understand correctly , the lid catch at the bottom that keeps all the dirt in the bin if button wont release during disassembly push down on the red lever manually to pop open the dirt lid.
      If need further explanation let me know :)
      Thanks for watching

    I cleaned this with water. Did I ruin it?

    • @VacTech
      @VacTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello , generally when we rinse the cyclone with water it does more harm than good but may not ruin your unit . The excess water makes mud inside the cyclone which is near impossible to fully clean without disassembly and washing of the parts . Leads to some nasty odors and a more clogged cyclone leaving the unit partially useless . A good servicing would get it running like new .

  • @djclown7pb

    can I just wash it? with out taking it apart?

    • @VacTech
      @VacTech  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      djclown7pb
      hello , it is not recommended to wash the cyclone while assembled as dirt and water turn to mud causing further issues due to inadequate cleaning. it is best to have knowledgeable repair tech service Dysons.
