i have always wondered as to why doesn't central railways attach 2-3 coaches permanently to the banker locomotives for passenger's sake. those coaches can let people travel between karjat and lonavala in seated comfort. local trains are till karjat and then beyond lonavala, none in between so many have to resort to buses, taxis, shared cabs etc which often have high fares. by attaching coaches, railways can sell tickets of those coaches both ways ie karjat to lonavala and from lonavala to karjat , since the banker locos come back to karjat ( on the middle line), passengers can use the same coaches to come from lonavala to karjat. this method also means less road traffic on the expressway in the ghat section. there is no way to run additional trains in the ghat section but in this method, we are using the existing system to get more passenger space without altering the timetable. a win win situation for everyone. just the will to implement it is needed.
Deccan Queen is the only train which run from CSMT to Karjat without stopping anywhere in between. if it had VB rakes or push pull locos, it would have run nonstop from CSMT to Lonavala. Pune Mumbai Deccan Queen does run non stop from Lonavala to Dadar.
Indrayani Train is supposed to be a train for those who live in Mumbai but work in Pune. the train leaves CSMT by 540am, reaches Pune by 9:05am. on return journey it starts from Pune at 6:35pm and reaches CSTM at 10pm. Indrayani was supposed to be mirror of Deccan Queen i.e. Deccan Queen is supposed to be for those who live in Pune but work in Mumbai. now Deccan Queen leaves Pune at 7:15am and reaches Mumbai by 1025am and leaves CSTM at 5:10pm and reaches Pune by 8:25pm. so i wonder, who in Mumbai works at such timings. even if the person office is just 5 mins outside the station, to catch this train daily, he/she would have to report to work only at 1030 am or later and leave work at or before 5 pm. i wonder, what kind of work would that be?
Bro Prasanna this is the adverse train running timings for office going people in all parts of India except the EMU or DEMU served areas. Famous Yelagiri Exp working for chennai working people from Jolarpet, Vellore and Arakonam areas is good example. Working in home away place is travel type punishment. Even office commuting travel in local good bus of TN for Chengleput to Kanchipuram in morning rush or evening is punishment
@@r.a.j.a.n.r.g1212 what are the timings of this Yelagiri express? read my post, my query is simple, what kind of job in the 1980s was from 10:30am or later but finished before 5pm . It had to pay enough to justify the cost and time needed for travelling daily from pune to mumbai and back too. Only jobs i can think off is a share market broker , those days market was from 11am to 330pm. Other are government jobs where punctuality wasn’t a requirement.
nice
