MT is more slice of life than anything imo which is one of the reasons it is so loved by many. There is still much action left ofc but i love the sol parts more than the action. The perfect blend basically.
Living in age of netflix and binge watching, a lot of people dont have much patience anymore so they would prefer to skip to the good stuff, i mean heck i know this and still have the urge to use the skip button when i see things going slowly. I have to try harder.
I couldn't agree with you anymore if I tried. I think the best analogy is lie fast food and a home cooked meal. Fast food is those high action, heavy octane go go fight all the time lots going on anime. Anime that has both fast paced moments, slice of life elements and those perceived slow moments that are character development along with the world building around them is home cooked meal. Sure fast food is nice, quick, easy and done, but for me nothing beats the good old fashioned home cooked meal made with care and love that took time and patience to complete.
people wants everything to be a shonnen madness and thats not what this series does, there are a lot of set up arcs and character development arcs were there is no "action" and when those "action" arcs happend they are more powerfull because of what those set up arcs did before. i dont think i ever read someone complain about the "mushoku and frieren are alike" thing, wich is true tbh, at least at its pace, what MT fans gets upset about, me included, is the Re zero comparison, because of how a narrative desaster that novel is compared to MT and how bad the mc is, still to this day i dont understand why peope like that crap.
@@petermuller9480 i dont intend to judge people for what they like, if they like re zero thats fine, i just cant undestand why, the mc is trash, story doesnt know where it wants to go, things happend when the plot needs them to happend, side characters are tropes with little to no personality that are there to push the plot and/or the mc to go somewere, etc etc, i just dont get it, i tried several times to watch the anime and i just couldnt pass the first season, i finished it because i started it and i dont like to leave things mid way, then i tried to read the nivel because my mind set was "ok, maybe the anime is skipping the set up parts, thats why everything looks like pops up out of nowere" and OMG is so bad hahah like i said, a narrative disaster
Thank you for your review! I ended up dropping this due to the slow pacing. I LOVED S1, this just doesn’t match up. I felt the same way about Re:Zero S2. I think I will just stick to my faster paced anime about to start kaiju no. 8. The slow burn anime’s just aren’t for everyone. I appreciate you for this review.
There are 2 types of MT watchers 1. "I can't believe they skipped so much content!" 2. "I can't believe they didn't skip this content!" But for real every time I hear a reactor say "MT would be so good if they just removed X thing" my eyes roll so hard a retina detaches. Some people's inability to realize even after nearly 40 episodes of this show that they aren't watching a redemption story, or a fantasy adventure, or an OP protag power fantasy really grinds my gears. MT genius is that it's fantasy escapism about how fantasy escapism is bad. The story shows us that the typical shut in NEET that loses themselves in unhealthy habits feed on the lie of "if I were somewhere else with OP powers and had a harem of girls then I would be different" but season 1 starts with all the typical trappings of the escapist fantasy and ends with Rudy in exactly the same place he was in the real world. Friendless, partnerless, and without his family. The whole story is about how the only way to improve your situation is to improve yourself.
Spoilers. I've seen a few of these comments, one saying that it'll fall off as a series and not be as popular as season 1. Honestly, I'm fine with that, I don't need a million video essays made by people who only watched the series for action going "Why are we sympathizing with a guy who threatened rape at one point" when volume 19 gets adapted or when turning point 4 happens and Oldeus's journal is read, the number of people I can only guess will flip shit at it saying how he never really changed as a person. As you can see I don't have a high opinion of them after they got so pissed at the slave bit in the last cour.
Honestly recommendation for all the people that just want non-stop action, go read manhwa, there's a million of them and most can't go 3 chapters without action.
I think it is good when shows like thos have slower paced arcs. My favorite anime and LN is a fantasy war drama so tehre are bound to be a lot of fights onscreen. But the characters still have downtime inbetween the fights where they just talk or do fun things that do not involve action. Or to take another isekai, Spirit Chronicles. The part where I am at in the books have not that much action but a lot of politics. The middle of season 1 was also more about slice of life and food essays. I swear the books are also a gourmet guide. There are so many scenes where the novel just describes how tasty the food is. And MT is the story about the MCs new life from birth to adulthood and even further beyond. RE Zero is about the MCs growth and how he learns to accept help and love himself more. Re Zero made me cry a lot of womanly tears while watching it. Too many people just want action and nothing else these days. I love cute romance stories that are mainly slice of life. A slow paced show that is chill is nice to watch too. I hope you keep enjoying MT and that the anime keep getting more seasons. If the quality stays the same, I am sure the anime will keep being great.
The thing they forgot about mushoku tensei, mushoku tensei is a drama anime. Compared to another isekai just like a shounen anime but with Reincarnated/Teleported Main Character
Thought I saw some action last episode, and if that "thing" (maybe) had no mind some could even consider it "mindless action", don't know what people complaining about 😊. Even the S2E14 trailer, I watched just moments ago, had some hint of at least small action (with swords?!). Personally I do not mind, I watch even non action slice of life shows as long as the story is written decently enough.
You know I honestly like slower paced anime a lot of anime is go go action action sometimes nice is just take some time and enjoy the life these characters there's a living. And the world building is interesting bleach is one of the big three and that anime is a slow burn. So is you youak a show there's nothing wrong with having a slower show
Mushoku Tensei is an Isekai anime yes. But it is not action / shounen series. It's mostly about Rudious connecting with his family. And gathering the girls like pokemon. While being mentally scarred in the process. And getting caught in a long war between orsted and Man God. It's got slice of life elements between the action packed parts of the story too. If you want action adventure anime. You have to keep scrolling. Because this aint it chief.
@@Espiritu_Analysis Oh yes very much so. It wasn't critisism towards your video. Just my own thoughts about the series. I'm at 18th LN right now. And eagerly waiting for continuation. I can barely wait for all the reaction videos when things go down in the Bhegarith Continent. Volume 12 will not leave anyones eyes dry. Even if the sandy desert will.
Already had a chat about the OP/Ed and if he is going to watch it, were still debating on it, (No have not told him what happens in it) Just that it does have heavy spoilers in it.
Ur welcome to tell me how its "boring and creepy". Not that I think ur give me an answer when y say that claim ur going to quit the anime, but season 2 has almost finished airing and ur claiming that while saying its gonna make u quit like u watched the whole thing and are "now" going to quit haha
@@Espiritu_Analysis I'm on ep 15 of season 2. my love for season 1 has kept me going this far hoping it will get back to the amazing animation, dope action, and interesting world. But season 2 part 1 & 2 seem to be focused on rudeus depresion, adolescent Boner
I prefer Roxy personally but with eris and sypiily they are a little rough but I enjoy the princess is the academy arc kinda boring yes but I like it because of the side characters so far I like the princess although I want a tiny bit more drama like the princess flirting with Rudy and I'm glad that the anime is taking it's time to grow
Light Novels gets much deeper into the relationship between Rudy and his class mates. Julie gets more ....page? time too. Zanoba is such a great character. Cliff too. But I understand the need to cut content. We don't get any point of view stories from the girls perspective either, which is kinda sad. But it is a large series with lots of events taking place so cutting some of it out is to be expected.
