Without question, this is the essence of how a true motorcycle should look...

At 76, I've long since hung up my MB leather jacket, RAF flying boots, silk scarf and gauntlets, but if had the readies now, I think I'd be crazy enough to buy this bike just to park it in the lounge room as my sofa for watching TV. No seriously, that's just my way of saying that if you want to own a Motorcycle that ticks all the boxes, then this is the one. IMO, they don't come better than this, but of course I do respect and acknowledge that others may think differently, as is their prerogative. Ride and stay safe everyone...

I’m almost 70... And I could not agree with you more. I currently still ride my 2004 Honda ST1300A as well as my 2008 Goldwing. Been thinking about ‘downsizing’ and replacing them. The 2019 CB1100EX definitely on my short list.

@@alanaugust8853 Hello there Alan. Thank you for your reply. I first started riding in 1963 on a 1959 650cc Triumph Thunderbird. Clocked up over 30,000 trouble free miles in 18 months. Took it off the road for six months for a respray, plus lots of extra chrome, even the spokes, which a mechanic pointed out to me later was not a good idea, as he said the chroming process actually makes the spokes brittle and liable to snap. But their effect looked awesome riding on a sunny day. Traded it to a new 250cc Yamaha YDS3 in 1967, which had bags of torque, and loved that signature hollow sound from it's twin megaphone exhaust. 1 year later traded it for four wheels, and many moons after that returned to my next bike in 1981. This time round was a new Honda CB250N. That I have to say, was the best commuter bike I have ever ridden. Kept it for some time, then marriage and kids came along and it was back to four wheels again.
Now in retirement, I often think back to the wild times of the 1960s. Good times. Back then the Police never bothered you at all, unless you were blatantly abusing the speed limit or rode your bike unregistered. Now the Mrs and I will hopefully be moving next year to the Philippines, where I'll become an ExPat. Rising costs in my country are steadily pushing us out. Sad really, as it's a great country, but the cost of living is eroding what measly pension we receive. In the Philippines, everything is cheaper, although a new Ford Ranger Wildtrack retails at 1,700,000PH pesos, which in our money @ 36 pesos to the dollar is $47,000. 00. That vehicle here is close to $60,000. But in all other respects, food, rent, and utilities of water/electricity are way cheaper.
My pension will continue to be paid in pesos while I'm there, and the converted amount at least provides a great deal more breathing space. A good two bedroom fully furnished apartment in say Dumaguete will set you back a mere 10,000 pesos a month, which in dollars is $277.00. As for transport, I'll return to riding a motorcycle. In the provinces there, a 125 to 150 cc will be more than enough for these old bones, lol. Well Alan, apologies for such a long winded reply. Cheers mate and ride safe...

When I tried to find one of these, the Honda dealer told me they stopped making CB1100s after 2017. The bike is beautiful -- does it actually exist?

They are lovely bikes, and quality is second to none. My question to Honda is, why do the American bikes have more detailing? i.e. engine side and rocker covers have a satin Chrome finish, which is a lot nicer than painted covers we get in Europe.
