“He’s... just a kid. No older than my son.” A line that hits hard every time because when looking back on it a lot of people must have thought that Spider-man was probably a cop or a martial artist or a private investigator or just a middle aged man with some experience, but to find out this whole time that the person who puts his life in jeopardy every day for strangers and is constantly being slandered as a menace is just a young man no older than twenty who just wants to help people... it just changes things.
@Andrew PeraltaChacalt tobey did great what u mean he looked the part I mean he'll he the reason Spider man is what it is today he Alone with all 3 movies made over 3 billion dollars with the 3 movie selling 200 million first week so I mean hey
I always loved how Tobey never hesitates to utilise his face in acting. He’s a very handsome guy but isn’t scared to be “ugly” for the sake of getting the best scenes. He represented “a hero who isn’t invincible but is willing to be strong to save people” so well with his expressions and agonised screaming.
Some of us may laugh, but Toby had one of the most realistic facial expressions in not just the Spiderman and marvel franchise, but across all franchises. He may have extraordinary powers, but part of him is still human.
@@alphaxan8175 Try putting yourself in his shoes. Your trying to stop A train with your strength and your telling me you wouldn't be at all strained from using all of that force?
@@nocomment6012 ok fair enough but literally Tobey (not Peter, the actor Tobey) could have made ANY other face but no he went with the look of severe constipation
@@alphaxan8175 He was constipated in a way though,He's stopping a train that's the most realistic face He would make to show the struggle of stopping a train.
I do like how much strength it would take to stop that train. Try to look the frame, it's totally bend and shapes after his body 😮 crazy power to have.
I get chills every time I hear those screams alongside the glass bursting. Everything around him is shattering from the strain of this act, but he's still holding on.
Can't praise this scene enough. This must be one of the very few scenes in all superhero movies where we actually see the hero interact with the people he is supposed to protect. It is so grounded and real that makes it by far the most inspiring moment in the genre. The context is also key here. Peter thinks that New York hates him, but he now realizes that people are grateful for his help and that they actually appreciate him. This is the Spiderman from the comics, the underdog that always makes the right thing and pulls through no matter what. He has heart, grit and has fully adopted uncle Ben's message.
There’s nothing like that sequence of everybody carrying him back into the train in any other superhero film. Just beautiful that he saved their lives and they saved his.
Exactly, thats the essence of the hero. Not only to save them but interact with the people they're saving, to care about them. No other scene in the Superhero movies will ever surpass this, in terms of acting, photography, argument, script, visual elements and symbolysms. Edit: The Dark Knight and Spiderman 2 share the throne of Best Superhero Movies.
I love how the people try to give back to Peter by lifting him back to safety and promising to keep his identity a secret. Such a good representation of how good acts inspire others.
no good deed goes unpunished bruh, i bet if jonah gave a few thousand bucks someone homeless in need for money will surely give away his identity, people can act kind until there own lives are at stakes, everyone me included
@@priyanshuyadav3678 What you said is definitely true, but it doesn't apply to every instance. For example those people on the train tried to get in the way of Doc Oc from retrieving Spiderman despite being scared shitless...
1:56 I just LOVE that even when the train is basically stopped, he STILL pushes through the pain and gives the last bit of his strength he has to stop that train completely. Seeing Spider-Man actually pass out from exertion is crazy. This feat of strength is just monumental. One of the best superhero scenes of all time.
It’s amazing and when he is being passed you can see all the passengers holding him To carry but many just touch him even if it doesn’t do anything just to try because that’s what Spider-Man does he helps people with the smallest thing just because they might want help This she greates scene of all time I don’t care what anyone else says
Sam Raimi is a genius, he managed to get Spiderman to remove his mask so that we can see Peter's expression and feel the anxiety and despair of the character. This is the most memorable Spiderman scene in the cinema.
There's A LOT of memorable scenes from this trilogy... Raindrops keep falling on my head, Bully Maguire, Norman almost discovering Spiderman's true identity
Man haven’t seen this scene in years and it just hits my heart so hard. Really just a young guy with good morals doing what’s right.. not because he has too, but because he understands if he doesn’t then someone else may suffer for it. With great power comes great responsibility.
This is why I love the original Spider-Man trilogy. Even when his identity is revealed the people he saved gave him the respect he needed. And also because he has no high tech suit. No ally to help him. He’s just a boy
They only saw a clumsy kid when he's Peter. They only saw a noble hero when he's Spiderman. Peter was no hero, and Spidey was no kid. Confronted with the realization that this young man shouldered all that burden on his own, they saluted him. Now that's a very uplifting message modern superhero movies don't do anymore, huh?
@@amuroray9115thats not fair, Tobey was exceptional in the Spider-Man trilogy, substituting him with any other actor would’ve been foul and most definitely would’ve impacted the film. It’s an amalgamation of many things that makes the movie a legendary film not JUST the director.
Agreed. I mean, Spidey is there trying to save everyone! And what's the old fart doing?! NOTHING! He just stands there cowering! He could at least try to calm the passangers down but NOOOOO! He thinks it's better to yell at and crtitizise the very guy who, almost literally, has everyone's lives on his hands! Now THERE is a good candidate for the Darwin award.
'We won't tell nobody' this line has a lot of gravity. This shows even the kids know the type of danger and problems Spiderman faces everyday. He just compromised his cover in order to save those people. And he is just a kid. People understood the type of pressure and the exertion it takes to be Spiderman. A kid taking care of the city is really too much for anyone and some people are still criticizing him for making the Condition worse. In my opinion, this is how a Spiderman movie should look like with friendly neighborhood people who understand the efforts of a young kid.
Yeah, this is what makes Spidey special. He is just a young broke boy who try to help people. He is a hero for not only what he's doing but also he is doing those things in a very hard condition. Great power comes with great responsibility.
He cant be anyone. He’s Peter Parker. Stan Lee stole the credit for The character. The true creator of Spider-man is steve ditko. He designed him, named him. Steve Ditko is the true creator of The Spider-Man.
I love this scene for 3 main reasons 1. He was genuinely scared and was panicking but he was still willing to risk his own life and be nearly torn apart to save people 2. it shows the perspective of other people 3. It shows that no matter how strong spider man is he is still Peter Parker. He is a human and he has limits.
Its awesome that we can see his train (no pun intended) of thought throughout the scene. He really has no solution at the ready, and is genuinely trying to find a way to save those people. My favorite detail is at 0:44 after he throws the first webs, you can see in his face that he hadn't really thought about HOW MUCH PRESSURE it would put on him to slow down a massive train going so fast. It gets him by surprise.
I agree ! He was relentless in seeing through to the outcome of stopping that train without a clear solution! So much so that I doubt Spider-Man even thought about the fact that it would take all of his supernatural and human strength to stop that train! It showed that through all that strength and power, grit and heart his courage under pressures and adversity is and will always be his biggest superpower!

From 2:08 to 3:13 I love it when all the people there save him from his fall and they keep him company on the train he saved. It all shows how much New York really cared about him.
@Jimb0 Things were a lot more experimental in the 2000's. Y2K, after all. I think home video in the DVD was still being experimented with, online streaming services were still new, it was the golden age of the Internet, and there was still so much passion in the gaming industry that that's why we were what you'd nowadays call "toxic"; that's when console wars and trash-talking were at their peak. Now social media has largely ruined everything.
@Jimb0 I'd say all of the 2000's and maybe 2010-2012, at least according to classic COD and Battlefield standards; BF3 was in 2011 and BO2, considered the last great COD in a general sense was in 2012, also Spec Ops: The Line, but if you were around in the mid-2000's then you'll probably be more knowledgeable than me. There's still some great exceptions nowadays, I think most notably Red Dead 2 and TLOU 2, though I think it was solely Rockstar's decision to make Red Dead 2 whereas everybody was basically expecting TLOU 2. Still great games, though, specifically where story is concerned.
@Jimb0 No, no, I agree. The push towards "realism" that is all anyone that doesn't make battle royal games cares about. I've heard the same argument for TLOU 2, actually.
It doesn’t matter how many times I see this scene or this movie, every time that guy says “he’s just a kid, no older than my son” it hits me. And it’s just such a perfect moment because that’s the point of Spider-Man, anybody could be under that mask
The actors who played the passengers did such a great job too. They made the scene so tear jerking and real. Their facial expressions of shock, happiness and confusion and excitement to seeing Spider-Man’s face and learning that he’s just a kid in a costume with astounding superpowers. Saving Spider-Man from falling to his death when he passed out from exhaustion after saving them. The fear in their eyes and screaming from thinking they’re gonna die. And most of all how they promised Spiderman they wouldn’t tell the world who he is after seeing his face. Helping him stand up cause of how exhausted and in pain he was after saving them. And not just hiding his identity cause he saved their lives and they owed him. But they knew that if they exposed his identity he wouldn’t be able to to protect people and bring hope and justice to the world like the brave and strong thing he did that day just to save random people he doesn’t know from a train crash out of pure kindness, bravery and compassion.
In my eyes, this is the best scene in any superhero movie to date. It shows that Spiderman isn't just saving random NPCs that are gone as soon as they leave the scene. Peter is seeing that it's real people he's saving, that appreciate what he does and are willing to keep his identity a secret for him. What a beautiful scene.
Yeah it's a great scene actually , but personally I see the Truck flip move in The Dark Knight to be more climactic although they are quite different .
Its not only that he realizes hes saving real people its also the people realizing that spiderman is also just another guy, i think thats what makes it special
When the random man said “he's just a kid, no older than my son” i legit teared up man, what a beautiful scene and film. God bless sam raimi and the team for making this masterpiece.
The reason why Peter was so speechless in the train other than the fact that he just stopped a train at 80mph+ was the mere fact that he wasn't getting hate speech for being Spider-Man anymore, he finally got the respect he deserved from the citizens in the train for all the sacrifices he's made for the city.
That or because less is more sometimes and you don't have to talk all the time to explain or show how you feel,a couple/few facial expressions and body language can tell a lot just like a picture can be equal to a 1000 words or even more a lot more
@Someguy136 A metric system is not a culture, it's a tool. That being said I don't have any grudges with people using a different tool than me. Weird choice of tool to be honest, but okay

Goddamn, I'm also a 27 year old thinking the same watching this, and thought the other way around when I was 11 ( the first time I watched this movie).
@Jorge Constanzo. I meant mentally speaking. The wisdom a 17 year old has is most likely narrow due to them still developing. They can't do much in terms of thinking on a broader spectrum. And even though someone's 17 they most likely rely in their parents at that age.
I swear when the people caught him, pulled him into the train, returned his mask, and even promised not to tell anyone about his secret identity, really very nearly brought me to heartwarming tears. Such a beautiful moment in any superhero film.
I always rewatch this. The fact the hero needed the people and they helped him and carried him, even the kids with the mask. So wholesome and good for my soul!
The fact that Peter knew that the end of the track was coming and still stayed and stopped the train. The amount of pain he must have been in must have been unbelievable. People joke about the face that he made, but let's see the the face you would make trying to stop a train full of people that is going like 80 miles. Having powers doesn't make you a hero, it is what you do with them that does.

This scene hit me hard. Having people seen his identity and realize that he was just a kid so innocent enough to be trying to do what is right. Even struggling with his own problems, bills, career and love, he manages to stay the symbol of hope for people, younger and older than him. Great power truly comes with great responsibility
With great power comes great responsibility and Peter decides to sacrifice his own life and use his power to save, help, and dedicate himself to the community. Great movie.
Something we’ll never see with the new Spider-Man. He’s too young and he’s already financially set. He’s too overpowered with only one standalone movie so far
Don’t care what anyone says. Tobey’s screams while trying to stop the train only add to the seriousness of the situation. He sells this scene SO well. One of my favorite “Spider-Man” moments!
the scene at 02:50 hits home when he says 'he's just a kid' because yes he really was just a kid when all that responsibilities. among all the superheroes he had to learn the value of responsibilities really young and fast
This scene always hits me so hard. Started crying before we even got to the emotional scene just seeing him try so hard to do the right thing at the expense of own personal safety, sanity and happiness....
Remember guys, in this movie Peter’s webs are authentic so hes literally using EVERY part of his body to stop this train. Jeez, the pain he mustve felt using every bone, limb and his webs to hold that train down. Seriously, we need Tobey back.
"we found this.....we wont tell nobody".....that line brought tears to my eyes ....the sheer beauty of these movies i miss this spidey always came thru with such good Expression watching my boy struggle to stop that train was a great moment at the theaters for me wen i was 14 will always cherish that memory
I just realize, the moment when the people in the train willing to hide Peter's identity is the moment Peter receive the appreciation he deserves, making him realize saving people has paid off.
@@nonuvurbeeznus795 no. But he sure does deserve it. In case you couldn't notice, that's what this whole movie is about. He doesn't get anything from being spiderman, in fact, he loses things because of it. But he does it anyways, because it's right. But in this moment, he finally gets recognition from a train full of grateful people who he nearly killed himself for.
Would have been even cooler if at the end of the movie one of those kids on the train would have stupidly crossed a busy street; but before he does a hand reaches out from behind him and grabs his shoulder The boy turns around and sees Peter staring down at him . Then the boy says thank you with the biggest smile on his face 😊
He deserves it but he never intended for it to "pay off." Being Spider-Man is an altruistic endeavor with no intention for any reward of any kind, not even a thank you.
The beauty of Peter Parker being Spider Man is that nobody actually knows who he is. He's been unmasked multiple times by a bunch of super villains outside of Peter's immediate circle and they were all unphased. Vulture unmasked him once and was like "Well, that was disappointing." Then JJ Jameson who has also unmasked Spider Man a ton of times literally cannot accept that Peter is Spider Man. It's like if Luthor found out Clark Kent was Superman, he wouldn't be able to accept that a godlike being would want to disguise themselves because it's not something he would do if he had that power.
One of the most touching moments of this scene was when those kids said "We won't tell nobody". When a child can understand what a hero has just gone through to save their lives, and can have the wisdom to not reveal that hero's identity to the world, that's something. Great scene.
@@mu7mmad037 same bro, my dad had 1-2 on dvd so I’ve been watching since I was 3 in like 2008, must have watched them all at least 20-30 times combined

He’s just a kid from Queens who does the right thing because it’s the right thing to do, and damnit if that doesn’t hit you in your emotions, you’re a cold, cold person.
"He's just a kid..". This is the strongest moment in this scene for me. Considering what he went through, it is easy to forget that he is not 30 years old professional with money and power, but really responcible and noble young guy. I'm in tears.
I mean... that’s the point of acting?? Lol Why would you think about the age and money of the actor while watching the scene??? You’re watching Peter Parker, not Tobey, but I appreciate that he owned the character. So far the best live-action representation of Spider-Man
That´s because the majority of today´s superhero movies are no interested in imparting values such as heroism, sacrifice and justice. They´re only made for making money.
One of the reasons this scene stands out to me among superhero movies its comparative unattractiveness. Generally when heroes in movies exert themselves, they always still somehow look good for the camera, they always remain composed. You can tell they're straining, but in the way one does when lifting something heavy. In this scene, Peter isn't just exerting himself. He's putting himself in incredible pain. He doesn't look cool while doing it, he doesn't even look in-control. It's literally all he can do just to hold onto his webs. But for me that really drives home the point that he is willing to do absolutely anything and everything he can to save those people. The shot of him screaming in pain as the front of the train buckles under the force, yet refusing to yield, always gives me shivers.
I am so glad to see that you acknowledge this crucial detail. Very well said. Heroism - true heroism is NEVER about you, and what it means to you. It is ALWAYS about the people you protect.
I heard that when they filmed that scene, they had strongmen pulling at the ends of the prop web strings, so when Maguire was stopping the "train", he was actually struggling against those strongmen, making the scene all the more authentic.
No wonder why Tobey Maguire is the best Spider-Man. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man is the epitome of "With great power comes great responsibility." This version of Peter Parker is the real hero. No high-tech suits, no armored mentor, and best of all he has no childish tendencies. He really portrayed who exactly is Peter Parker in the comics. He becomes a full fledged hero on his own.
But peter Parker is a kid though I get what you mean though. What Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in the MCU is essentially what Miles Morales that was miles story arc. Miles was the one who kept trying to be peter and essentially fledged to become his own hero. How do you introduce miles when essentially he’s already in the MCU
I always love that in this trilogy, NYC is its own character, through how public perception and reaction to spiderman affects the story. The city, through its people, show gratitude and respect to him. Scenes like this and the people on the bridge in the first movie exemplify this a lot.
I love how this scene understand and respect the relationship between Spider-man and the people of NY, that's why he is the friendly neighborhood Spider-man man after all :D
And you can tell he's enduring pain no ordinary person could even imagine. Just because he's super, doesn't mean he isn't feeling incomprehensible pain being nearly torn apart. It's almost worse being super, because your body holds on so much longer.
One of the greatest aspects of Raimi's Spidey is his sheer selflessness. Throughout the movie Peter was basically a human punching bag. The guy gets battered physically and emotionally. He literally can't catch a break at all, and it's all more or less attributed to him being Spiderman: - He loses his delivery job due to rescuing a couple kids. - His relationships with Harry and MJ are distant and tenuous because of his secret. - His grades are abysmal. - He lives in a substandard apartment with a landlord constantly hounding him about rent. - His other job at the Bugle isn't really any better either. - Because of Jameson, the city despises Spiderman. - Due to his duties he misses MJ's play and worsens their already strained friendship resulting in her getting engaged to spite him. - Harry, hurt and frustrated with Peter slaps and humiliates him in front of a crowd. - Aunt May loses possession of her home. All the while Peter feels constantly trapped and torn between desiring his own life vs fulfilling Uncle Ben's adage of using his powers responsibly and helping people. It's way too much stress for ANY person, let alone a 19-20 year old single guy living in New York. On top of all that, because of his secret he's more or less forced to work through everything on his own which is pretty damn impressive. Being Spiderman is never a luxury but a burden which evidently extracts a massive toll on him. However, despite all the hardships and baggage, Peter hardly ever complained, trudging forward and sucking it up while remaining humble and true to himself because he understands what truly is important. When you really look at it, Peter's life is actually pretty dismal and is not for the faint of heart. Yet, at the end of the day he acknowledges everything and realizes that the moment he got his powers his life no longer belonged to him. It's his curse but everyone else's gift. And it was finally at the end of Spiderman 2 that he ultimately accepted this when he refused to get Mary Jane involved in his life because he knew that the path he chose in life had no place for her, thus letting her go. Spiderman 2 isn't simply an excellent superhero film but a great movie in general, demonstrating life lessons and teaching the audience that life's never fair and can be very horrible, however, there are good things in life which makes it worthwhile, allowing you to pick yourself up, shake it off and continue forward. This is what Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire's Spidey encompassed perfectly and why this iteration, in my opinion, is superior to Andrew Garfield and Tom holland's variation of the character.
Agree. With every single word. I think the courage and strength of conscience to take all that mental and emotional stress, familial, romantic and financial trouble, and still shoulder it selflessly for the health and safety of the others is what defines the beauty of this film.
I wouldn't consider this a lesson but more of a chance to appreciate and marvel at the beauty of the conviction and the selflessness behind all the pain depicted in the character and his inner turmoil. Nobody has to be spiderman, but we can have the grace to be thankful should one appear.
Every Spiderman has that it's a core aspect of this character this trilogy didn't invent this idea it's not a great thing about this series or this Spiderman it's a great thing about Spiderman in general
People make fun of Maguire’s face when stopping the train, but to me its super realistic. Even though he has super strength, imagine trying to stop a train going full speed ahead.
Exactly! Peter might be super strong BUT he’s using all his strength, all he can to save the people in the train, even if it kills him. Hell, you see it not just in his face, you also see it as Peter’s costume tears as well while he’s using his strength and webbing to hold the train like he did.
If the train had a mass of 10^4kg, and was going 60km/h, treating the web as a spring and assuming the web stretched for about 500 meters before coming to a stop, the force spiderman would have to overcome to keep the web stretched for that distance would be 2,778,889 Newtons. That's A LOT of force.
Saul Rosales And even for a guy as strong as a human-sized spider, it also adds to a lot of pain Spidey went through to try to hold the train from going off the rails
@@gellister it really is sad that people today seem to think that being a superhero just means wearing a fancy costume and beating up bad guys when thats just not the case a superhero is someone who has a gift weather it be powers or money or skill and they use those gifts to protect people even if it means giving up there own wants and needs

No enhanced suit, no AI walking him through anything, no high tech glasses, no Nick Fury, no Iron Man, no help. Just grit, heart, will, and his own strength. Hopefully Tom Holland’s Spider Man gets here someday.
I have a feeling that he can't now. I mean, normally, Spider Man didn't had those weapons and tech from the start and relied on himself. But, Tom Holland's Spider Man got it because they want to connect him to iron man. Now, there is no way that Peter Parker will leave the tech
@@steel.9714 Yeah, kinda feel like Holland should have had like 2 or even 3 movies on his own like Maguire in a similar fashion before his movies connected with Iron Man. True fact, none of this movie was CGI. Not only did Tobey have to stop this train on his own, he also spent 7 months training and building his core to to learn how to swing through Manhattan
No, that's totally Toby and he is actually stopping the train in this scene. In fact, he almost died doing it. I bet you haven't watched enough movies to differentiate between CGI and what's real yet.
This will always be one of the most epic scenes in a superhero movie. The intensity of the save, mixed with the concern for the hero by the civilians, was good script writing, coupled with good acting.
This is what makes action movies great. Fighting is not just entertainment, nor is it just to move the plot along. It's raw characterization, showing us everything that makes the hero a good character.
That's why I'm starting to buy some of the new action movies coming out, such as John Wick and Logan, for going back to this angle of action. Not fully discrediting Marvel movies, but Marvel has made action very "video-gamey" and this wasn't always the case. Go watch Iron Man 1 and you can still feel the intensity of battle. Recently there has been a resurgence however in their action and they seem to be learning from their mistakes. Here's to Infinity War bringing it all down to earth.
Hachinaka I liked Garfield alot better to be honest. Home coming was cringe worthy and too much focus on gadgets. Lost the feel of Spiderman... Which scenes like this really show you. It's hard to describe in words... But I stand by my statement homecoming was trash.

“He’s... just a kid. No older than my son.”
A line that hits hard every time because when looking back on it a lot of people must have thought that Spider-man was probably a cop or a martial artist or a private investigator or just a middle aged man with some experience, but to find out this whole time that the person who puts his life in jeopardy every day for strangers and is constantly being slandered as a menace is just a young man no older than twenty who just wants to help people... it just changes things.

That’s what’s missing in the MCU, they heroes never interact or save the general public it’s all over the top sci fi
Exactly, thats the essence of the hero. Not only to save them but interact with the people they're saving, to care about them. No other scene in the Superhero movies will ever surpass this, in terms of acting, photography, argument, script, visual elements and symbolysms.

@@TheWebbedWonderASM1962 this, spider man can't and shouldn't be anyone, he should be peter parker only.
I love this scene for 3 main reasons
1. He was genuinely scared and was panicking but he was still willing to risk his own life and be nearly torn apart to save people
2. it shows the perspective of other people
4. People saved him after he saved all Of them, and they promised to keep the secret to respect the Hero Who has saved them all
"he's.... just a kid. no older than my son" that realization from that guy gave me chills.
"Heroes show us we don't need to be perfect to do what's right. It's ok to be vulnerable, no matter how tough you are. Because even though they're heroes, they're still human."

Feels good to be a 2000's kid instead of a late 2010's

@@nonuvurbeeznus795 no. But he sure does deserve it. In case you couldn't notice, that's what this whole movie is about. But in this moment, he finally gets recognition from a train full of grateful people who he nearly killed himself for.
Would have been even cooler if at the end of the movie one of those kids on the train would have stupidly crossed a busy street; but before he does a hand reaches out from behind him and grabs his shoulder
The boy turns around and sees Peter staring down at him .
Vulture unmasked him once and was like "Well, that was disappointing."
Then JJ Jameson who has also unmasked Spider Man a ton of times literally cannot accept that Peter is Spider Man. It's like if Luthor found out Clark Kent was Superman, he wouldn't be able to accept that a godlike being would want to disguise themselves because it's not something he would do if he had that power.
Omg dude his acting is amazing man. The way he showed his pain is so realistic. Incredible
One of the most touching moments of this scene was when those kids said "We won't tell nobody". When a child can understand what a hero has just gone through to save their lives, and can have the wisdom to not reveal that hero's identity to the world, that's something. Great scene.

This scene makes me cry ever. I love this scene. Spider-Man is the best hero ever, ever, ever, ever and ever.
Shadowmech88 this comment wraps up the entire comment section. Nailed it.
Shadowmech88 never would’ve been able too have said it better myself
I am so glad to see that you acknowledge this crucial detail. Very well said. Heroism - true heroism is NEVER about you, and what it means to you. It is ALWAYS about the people you protect.
Yes! Thank you! This is why it's so good!
Thank you!!! 🙌🏻
I don't think he looks silly when he's stopping the train. He looks like he's straining. And he's stopping a freaking TRAIN.
Exactly
I heard that when they filmed that scene, they had strongmen pulling at the ends of the prop web strings, so when Maguire was stopping the "train", he was actually struggling against those strongmen, making the scene all the more authentic.
Who needs the man of steel when you got your friendly neighborhood spiderman
I wonder if it would’ve been easier for Captain America?
@Parvis Captain america is the strongest. Hulk is bigger and stronger than Spider-Man.
Finally someone actually gets it
But pizza time
But peter Parker is a kid though I get what you mean though. What Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in the MCU is essentially what Miles Morales that was miles story arc. Miles was the one who kept trying to be peter and essentially fledged to become his own hero. How do you introduce miles when essentially he’s already in the MCU
well said.
Peter is a kid so he'd have childish tendencies
I always love that in this trilogy, NYC is its own character, through how public perception and reaction to spiderman affects the story. The city, through its people, show gratitude and respect to him. Scenes like this and the people on the bridge in the first movie exemplify this a lot.
I love how this scene understand and respect the relationship between Spider-man and the people of NY, that's why he is the friendly neighborhood Spider-man man after all :D
also the bridge scene from SM1
Yes, this is something that the MCU lacks
The only problem is that this was in Chicago. I guess Spidey got on good terms with them as well.
@@gabrielwillames "You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!"

I love the screams and grunts. You can tell he’s truly using all of his strength to try and save these people.
And you can tell he's enduring pain no ordinary person could even imagine. Just because he's super, doesn't mean he isn't feeling incomprehensible pain being nearly torn apart. It's almost worse being super, because your body holds on so much longer.
Tobey Maguire>>>> Bale and Heath
One of the greatest aspects of Raimi's Spidey is his sheer selflessness.
Throughout the movie Peter was basically a human punching bag. The guy gets battered physically and emotionally. He literally can't catch a break at all, and it's all more or less attributed to him being Spiderman:
- He loses his delivery job due to rescuing a couple kids.
Best description of this movie I've ever seen.
This was really beautiful, brother!
I honestly cried while reading this...
"He's... Just a kid? No older than my son."
This line hits harder but also embodies exactly who Spidey is
People make fun of Maguire’s face when stopping the train, but to me its super realistic.
Even though he has super strength, imagine trying to stop a train going full speed ahead.
Especially the way he stopped the train too
An ordinary person would be a quadraplegic after this. What more do they need?

Its also screams of agony, if he wasn't enhanced, he arms would've been torn clean of seconds after he first tried the first time

We could see Iron Man slowly recognise the work of Spiderman. Then after civil war, see him move onto tech gradually. And we could appreciate how the older Peter now sees an Uncle Ben role model in Stark before losing him too. Ik it'd have been long to have Uncle Ben die again but it'd have worked.

2.) Tom. (Has youth, the quirkiness, the quips of Peter that spidey is known for. Not a standard Peter Parker but a hell of a good spidey.)
3.) Andrew. (Let's just say he's my least favorite out of the three, sure he got the attitude of a Peter Parker, and a spidey per say but it's just that nobody would believe him to be a teenager and it's not very believable as Peter tbh, hell of a spidey though.)
