Aled sings "All Through The Night" on Songs of Praise 13th Oct 2002, from St David's Hall Cardiff. This is produced solely to promote Aled and his music.
I used to sing this hymn as a child at school but this is the most beautiful version I have heard..Aled has a wonderful voice and the choir sounds like the heavenly chorus. Magnificent.
Came here because I thought it was gonna be the Cyndi Lauper song but was unexpectedly surprised and happy to find this instead. I remember it from my childhood. So peaceful!
Whenever Aled sings this song he always sings it part Welsh, part English. Even when he was a young boy. Without fail this song sends shivers down my spine. So beautifully sung.
I remember singing this song when I was in Junior School in The Rhondda.I would have been 9/10 years old. Every time I hear it takes me back to my childhood.
Beautiful Welsh standard sung by Aled plus a full Welsh male voice choir and Libera. That's quite a line-up and it sounds wonderful. Thanks for posting.
# 3 both my father and I had by this time (1973) had the Welsh kicked out of us! but in the RAMC officers mess one weekend he brought in all the Taffs and they sang Ar hyd y nos. For me! at 13

In memory of Uncle C who sent me this song from London in Xmas 2005.I miss you dearly.
My paternal Grandparents came from Gilfac Goch in the Rhondda in 1911. I absolutely love this hymn.
It gave me shivers when they all started singing together and Libera's voices soared above the wonderful Welsh choir.
I love Welsh traditional hymns. This is splendid.

I love this song it is one of his best. I could listen to it all day long

Yes its sung in Aled's native language "Welsh"..
It's awful being a Taff as great music keeps you 'welling up' - diolch yn fawr, Aled!
Did you bother to listen til the second verse?
He switches to English at 1:23.
Barry O'Donnell
Second half IS in English.....
At about 2 minutes in he switches to English.
Is this Gaelic?
Cymraeg
To clarify : It is Welsh - but
Aled Jones sings the 2nd verse in English.
It's Welsh. Related to Gaelic.
It's not all in Welsh. Aled didn't speak English til he was 6 :)
Would b good if it was in English but I liked it
