Hi jse07, Your videos gave me the courage to take the leap of faith and install modchips on both my gamecube and my v7 ps2, and I succeeded with both after the first try. So thank you and keep up the good work!
wtf... soo i watch the two videos and thought this looked pretty simple for a guy like me who's gonna try to mod his ps2 for the first time and was real straightfoward with your information...then i looked at the comments and thought why is there so much critisim :| .. but then this is like the only video i found for modding a fat ps2 and its helpful soo im gonna go with your method :D thanks
What's some of the perks of the upgrade. Sorry, idk. I went to eurasia and all I know now is it's a clone of another chip. I'm interested, looks like a fun mod. btw, I love your iron lol, must have burnt yourselft a few times for that to happen. I prefer pre-tinned myself, but sometimes not, because the copper tips can wick a little bit which can be handy sometimes.
Hiya Jse07 Ive watched all your videos and I find them very informative and easy to follow, your very talented! I have been able to follow most but the next project I had in mind for myself is tempting but I know its beyond my current skill level. I am of course talking about the notorious ps2 mod chip installation. I cant for the life of me find any service in the UK that I can get to chip a ps2. If I picked up a second hand ps2 and the mobo chip would you consider and be kind enough to install it for me? I will cover the postage costs both ways and of course pay for the system and chip. Money is tight at the moment, but Im quite happy to pay for your service if you would be kind enough to take me up on my offer! anyway, if you cant do it, no hard feelings! Your still a very talented dude and I look forward, now I have subscribed to your channel, to seeing more of your tutorials!!! Thanks in adance mate
I am going to attempt this chip install and I happen to have a temp controlled soldering station. What temperature should I be using? The melting point of the solder? I have Kester 66/44 rosin core solder.
Hi jse07, I am planning to mod my ps2 and I have all the necessary parts but I was wondering does this Modbo 4.0 modchip need to be programmed or anything? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi I am buying a ps2 from ebay on bid and It is pal and I want to know what to look for it is a really cool version and he has awesome stickers I want to know what all to look for or check into since I will be installing the same board I might buy free mc boot from that country instead I really don't know I would appreciate any comments' will be reselling this console
HOLA TENGO LA MISMA QUE ESTAS CHIPEANDO... NO ME LEE LOS JUEGOS COPIAS PERO SI ORIGINAL.. QUE HAGO. A PENAS PONGO EL CD.. DICE PLASTATION Y DESPUES NO LEE.
That's probably one of the worst installs I've ever seen in my entire life. You would have had a really fun time if the drive controller wasn't working properly and you had to rip all of that super-glue off of the DSP chip.

If you want skip directly to the installation: 7:30.
I have to agree. As much as I'd like a temperature controlled soldering iron. The cheaper one does the job for now.

Good video! Can you make video About FMCB for example?
How do I know what kind of glue to buy? Is the regular hot glue for hot glue guns silicone based? Would a super glue stick say so on the packaging?

You should really get yourself a temperature controlled soldering station instead of that WW2 iron you are soldering with.
Video quality very bad please upload this video 1080p
i think you did the dis assembly badly because when i used to do it, it was sooo easy. your having to use pliers.
That is very complicated :( not like ps3 or Xbox 360 soft mod :)
KYNAR WIRE.

V7 board easier to chip
DONKEY EXPRESS DE LTD Why is easier?
Honza Marek cuz u don't get to solder on them tiny tiny legs like on other models. And I recommend duo 3 ultra chip.
DONKEY EXPRESS DE LTD aha, thank you
You don't have to solder on legs that tiny on a v9 either. Heard of alternative points?
