Megha, this is the best tutorial I've found for Radial Bar Charts! You explain everything thoroughly, and I love your incremental approach to creating the calculated fields! This worked perfectly for me! I have shared this technique with all my visualization team members!
YOU ARE AMAZING! I have been working on spiral chart since 2 days and your tutorial video is extremely easy to follow and straight to the point! thank you so much. You got my subscription!
This is an excellent tutorial. Clear and concise instructions and you explain what the table calculations do and how the modify the data. One of my struggles with Tableau has been getting a grasp of the calculated fields and to know how to apply them to modify my own data. And this tutorial was a great lesson in using calculated fields. I am grateful.
This was amazing! Thank you so much for the comprehensive tutorial. All the other ones that I found start with the data already aggregated, but you go from start to finish. Mine turned out great!
Thank you for taking the time to explain each step of this visualization. I am a beginner with Tableau and I was looking for some alternative visualizations to the regular bars and I found some videos that showed the same type of chart but none of them took the time to explain how to do everything. I am subscribing to your channel, I am definitely would love to watch more videos like this one. Thank you for creating content for beginners :)
Thank you so much!! It was best explained.. I have seen so many videos due to newbie in Tableau, it was little confusing to understand.. with other videos. You really explained so well.. Now I know where to go if I have to develope little complicated chart.
This is the only explanation that made sense out of all the other videos, I am trying to take and AVG of my values instead of SUM and I want to show the actual value instead of %, how will we do that?
Thanks for the tutorial ! I had one question - I am able to get the viz. as shown, but what if I want to maintain a constant order of the sub-categories, for ex. not to be ordered by sales, but based on predefined order - art, binders, chairs etc. ?
Boy I'm telling you what I thought I knew something about Tableau, popping in my little excel file and just almost randomly hitting chart buttons and throwing around dimensions and measures until something cool came out and I'd be like "Yeah, damn I'm not bad." I see this....this thing...and I realize there are levels to this shit. Damn this is insane. I'm a pretty smart man. But I wonder if I even CAN learn how to create things like this on my own. I better go back to my Tableau courses and start studying because apparently I don't know shit, lol.
Hi...nice visualization.Just one question can we click on a radial bar which opens it to drll down by districts...???So basically a drill down radial bar chart...
Correct me if I am wrong but Total Cat Sales and Total Sales formula is same right then in that case Percent Cal would be equal to 1 na? Couldn't get that.
Great explanation, looking for more videos from you. Also can you please one dashboard with all advanced charts in one place like dendrogram, radial chart , etc
Hi @megha great video. I've one doubt though. after creating radial chart if we change the view to entire view, chart shape gets affected. How can we avoid this? Thanks in advance
Can we use filter also in these custom charts. For example I want to add year filter then the radial chart will automatically change Or I need to do something... Plz reply.
You explained it beautifully but I'm not gonna use the radial chart in my visualization ever because it's too much work without any added benefit except looking good

This was the best explanation i've come across for radial charts. Everything worked perfectly for creating this chart with my own dataset. Thank you!
love your video, thank you megha !
It is refreshing to hear you speak through every step. I have subscribed for more info. Keep the content coming!

Hi - I am not sure if we can do the drill down here
@5:08 - When I add the "Sum(Path)" to 'Text', it still shows me 0 and 270. Confused!
I have hadoop data source , anyway we can do it by not union the table.....?
Correct me if I am wrong but Total Cat Sales and Total Sales formula is same right then in that case Percent Cal would be equal to 1 na? Couldn't get that.
did you get any answer to this?
Great explanation but have some dbts Megha ji..pls rly
Great explanation, looking for more videos from you. Also can you please one dashboard with all advanced charts in one place like dendrogram, radial chart , etc
Thank you @Mani. Thanks for the suggestion, I will see what I can do about it and will update you.
Also, I already have videos on my channel on how to make dendrogram chart, waterfall and radar chart if you are interested.
@@MeghaNarang yes , i saw that as well. Thanks for your quick response
Thank you !!
thanks in advance , please could you provide me with the dataset .
Hi @megha great video. I've one doubt though. after creating radial chart if we change the view to entire view, chart shape gets affected. How can we avoid this? Thanks in advance
Hi, thanks. Try editing the axis
Can we use filter also in these custom charts. For example I want to add year filter then the radial chart will automatically change Or I need to do something... Plz reply.
I think it should not be a problem to add a filter
@@MeghaNarang thanks megha
Great.
where I can find data?
Why we took ...table name??
