Hello, I've followed your example step by step, but at the end I am only getting one vertical line on Zero. I have many Null values, which may be a problem, but could you please help me with this? Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻, but I don’t know why I am not getting the nested calculation field while selecting the x and y for edit table calculations ? Please help me
Hi.. i tried to make this chart, but you have not shared the file, and when i have created one. I was not able to add same file like you.. please add the file in description box
Thanks this is very helpful. for those who are following the instructions don't forget to mention sort order in rank calculation. -RANK_UNIQUE(-SUM(-[Value]),'asc')
Hi, Thanks for the video. I had a question. How are you mixing aggregate and non aggregate functions during the creation of Path field? (Value, Max (Value))
Hello, I followed the exact same method using [Sales] and [Sub Category] from the 'Sample Superstar' data set provided by tableau. The issue that i am facing is for some of the [Sub Categories] (i.e. Furnishing-Tables, Accessories-Chairs) the lines are overlapping. Could you please help me to understand what am i missing?
Yes. In Rank formula, replace the current one by a Case statement where you manually describe the custom order you desire. Then in the Rank Max formula, replace the current one by Window_Max(Max(Rank))
I did all the steps but I’m only getting a vertical line along the y axis, instead of the radial lines that you get after you edit the table calculations for X and Y. What am I doing wrong? Your help would be greatly appreciated because I’ve had a lot of problems with this kind of chart
1-Open: "Edit Table Calculation" for "Y" column 2-Choose: "specific Dimension" 3- There are 3 options for "Nested Calculations" ( Y, Rank, Rank Max) make sure "Path Bin" is ticked for "Rank Max" and "Y" and "Name" ticked for "Rank". Do the same for "X" row.
Right click on the chart background or grid and select "Format". The formatting interface will open on the top left corner. There are five little buttons on top starting with A. Click the right most one "三". Then you can choose to hide the axis. Let me know if you have further questions.
Hi. I tried following each step to recreate the radial bar chart you showed however, when using my own data, i can see that there are dimensions occupying the same space and therefore overlapping. How do you go about preventing this?

Mucho gracias! Thanks for pointing out that it seems not working on Tableau desktop versions earlier than 2018! Not sure it is v8 or v9. Please use the latest version if you can.
Thanks for the comments! I added an option of selecting relative radial length or absolute radial length in the updated workbook. Download it to have a look. public.tableau.com/views/RadialBarChart_1/Dashboard1

HI Data Embassy, I have a question, after joining my table to itself, most of calculations got multipled by 2. how can I fix it?
Thank you
@@bobrahmatov First, it's a union not a join. Second, try AVG() or dividing by 2 whichever works for you.
Just divide the value by 2.
None of the other videos I tried for this visualization worked for me, but your did!!! Thanks!!!!
Thanks for letting me know!
Never thought it would be that simple, great job man
Amazing tutorial, you have made it way simpler than the others I tried for the same chart.
Keep up the good work. More videos plz.
Thank you 🙏🏻, but I don’t know why I am not getting the nested calculation field while selecting the x and y for edit table calculations ? Please help me
Thanks for sharing this video. It really needs lot of practice to come up something like this.
The best! Thank you so much. I was wondering if it is possible to have a filter, in case I am using data for multiple years.

You are amazing! Many, many thank you for this video!!
Hello! Great video!!!!!!! Is it possible to do this and also add a filter to visualize different dates?
Hi, my donut rings sit on top of each other so I only see the longest line (in this case the red one)- any tips?
Some table calculations maybe not set correctly. Pay attention to the way they are set in the video.
Thanks this is very helpful. for those who are following the instructions don't forget to mention sort order in rank calculation. -RANK_UNIQUE(-SUM(-[Value]),'asc')
Hi I get an error when I do the PATH variable calculation. It is saying I am mixing aggregate and non aggregate value. Can someone help
Open the workbook and see how it’s done.
Thank you very much for the tutorial!
Not show value calculation please how to do it value calculation
Check out the example workbook and follow the calculation there. See if this works.
Hi, Thanks for the video. I had a question. How are you mixing aggregate and non aggregate functions during the creation of Path field? (Value, Max (Value))
It’s {Max(Value)} which is using LOD. Then {} makes it a non-aggregate.
Nice video but I am having problem in Path... while edit X & Y in table calculation is showing in Red color ... please help me in solving this.
Download the workbook in description. And see details.
How do you get rid of the grid lines behind the plot?
Go to formatting. Select row and column lines to be none.
Thanks a lot.
Simply Awesome 👍

quizá son muchos items, prueba reduciendo pocos
Thanks for the tutorial ! Is it possible to set a custom order of the rings instead of ranking them by order of values ?
Yes. In Rank formula, replace the current one by a Case statement where you manually describe the custom order you desire. Then in the Rank Max formula, replace the current one by Window_Max(Max(Rank))
Then you should be done.
@@dataembassy8115 thanks a lot for the reply ! It worked!

Try my new radial bar tutorial th-cam.com/video/-ltfKk5wS0Y/w-d-xo.html
also, downloaded the updated workbook. it is more robust.
It happened to me either and I sorted out that way.
after developing ..How can I remove the axis line?
Right click on the chart background or grid and select "Format". The formatting interface will open on the top left corner. There are five little buttons on top starting with A. Click the right most one "三". Then you can choose to hide the axis. Let me know if you have further questions.
Nice! Thank you for your video. You can compound between mathermatics with BI tool👍
Wonderful, thank you!
This is brilliant!!!
Thankyou, very informative!
Amazing video tutorial
How come My biggest value fills half of the circle in completely?
Post your viz on tableau public and leave a link here so that I can have a look.
Use 180 degree instead of 270 degrees for path.

Have you downloaded the example workbook? Follow the design there. It has some subtle difference from the video. Give it a try.
Too fast explanation and its not working at all and I dont know why and cant figure it out

AWESOME!
I just realized the percentages do not proportionally show up. it says 37% but it looks like 75%.........this is misleading
