    These two products helped restore our floor back to its beauty after using Weiman's Polish & Restorer. I did not know that the product would build up causing a cloudy look and film. This was the ONLY thing that helped.

    I was quoted $3500 to refinish my pre-finished hardwoods after 2-3 coats of Rejuvenate. It took longer than a minute to get the wax to come up, but after lots of elbow grease, the came to their original shine. They look brand new! It does make quite the mess! I had a roll of paper towels and a plastic bag handy to pick up the clumps of wax. I also vacuumed prior to using the sparkle. I steamed my floors, too. They now are amazing and in their original state!

We were so frustrated for so long that we almost had new floors installed, but I figured what the heck for the price of the gallon jugs of chemicals I would give it one more try. Congrats! You are the first "real person" like me to research (that I know of) and find the perfect spot between DIY and Professional Cleaners! I am subscribed and I have gotten the names of the items down that I will need on my over 100 year old hardwoods! It seems like such a sham that Bona, Rejuvenate, Johnsons Paste Wax, only put layers on your floor to dull it and then you have to get professional strippers and waxers to come to your house because no one makes these products available to the public, unless you go looking! I can't wait to get my floors clean! Thank you!

    • @myranda_achvan
      @myranda_achvan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh my gosh you said that right!!!!! That is EXACTLY how it goes!! We use the product and then when it's dull and built up and/or splotchy in the high traffic areas, we are left only to hire a professional stripper. Interesting isn't it?? 🤔
      That is why I did the research. I was shocked about this. I'm so glad you reached out! Thank you too for Subscribing 🙂 I hope to hear from you again! Good like on your floors! They'll turn out beautiful!

    I have been worried about using these products because they don’t clarify if it is a wax build up remover or a clear coat remover (which is more like polyurethane and not meant to be removed unless you are sanding and starting over with new stain and poly). So thank you. And thanks for clarifying about the sticky feeling going away and steam mopping is so clever. I would have had a panic attack if that happened and I hadn’t watched your video. Hi Myranda,
    I have exactly what you had! I polished with Bona a few times thinking I was helping cover up scratches from the dogs. It was shiny and beautiful as you said, AT FIRST, then it went downhill from there. If the dogs drooled a little we would have spots that would eat the wax away. If you pulled out the bar stools it would scratch off the polish, or just high traffic areas like you said. It looked awful. I have been researching and I found you and although I have not tried yet, it is going to be my next project. Going to order the supplies and get it done. I will get back as soon as I can with my results. I’m in Michigan so it’s cold right now, so instead of sweating, I may freeze with the windows open but so be it, at least the floors will look beautiful! Thank you for such an informative video. 😄

    • @myranda_achvan
      @myranda_achvan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yaaaas!!! It is super cold there 🥶! You will get cold but it is SO WORTH it!!! The reasons for me polishing with that Bona was also because of dog scratched/grooves and to protect high traffic areas but it did the opposite. It just became a huge mess and pain in the butt. It looked so bad and not too long after I did it. Yes, please let me know how got goes. Our floors are still great here since I have fixed this issue. I loved reading your comment ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thank you, you left me smiling 🙂

    Ammonia. Ammonia. Ammonia. Water based floor wax "polish" dissolves instantly with zero scrubbing in ammonia. Lay it down wet and let it sit 5 minutes and then mop the floor with clear water.

  • @waveysavey
    @waveysavey 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Can confirm, this works. Be very careful you don't drip Dissolver somewhere and let it sit. It WILL eat through the original coating and leave a dull spot. Otherwise, this is as easy as it looks. Follow the video.

      How to remove floor polish
      POLISH STRIPPING:
      - Dilute 250ml per 5 litre of hot water.
      HEAVY BUILD UP:
      - Dilute 500ml per 5 litre of hot water.
      - Apply with mop or machine tank.
      - Leave for a few minutes, machine scrub with stripping pad.
      - Remove slurry, rinse with clean water.
      - Neutralise floor before applying polish by adding a solution of 20ml acetic acid (vinegar) to 5 litre of water
      - Damp mop the surface.

    I read almost all of these comments and it seems that people need to realize there is a difference between engineered hardwood vs solid hardwood floors. That is the reason your beautiful floors was able to withstand that level of moisture and water and not be totally damaged. If your floors would have been solid hardwood, your moisture issues would have been a lot worse. Still in the end your floors came out beautiful and if I buy another home I would consider engineered hardwoods vs solid hardwoods, because I have experienced issues with my real hardwood floors due to moisture problems in my home.

    Hi Myranda, thanks again for this video. I have a follow up question. I've watched a few DIY floor stripping videos, and they always seem to use some kind of scraper to get the sludge off the floor (after letting the stripper emulsify the wax for a few minutes). But you are just using a towel in this video after the Disolver does it's work. How is that possible?

    • @strollingbones-films
      @strollingbones-films ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And do you think you could the stripper/wax sludge off the floor with a shop vac?

    • @myranda_achvan
      @myranda_achvan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the stripper dissolves and lifts the product from the floor entirely. There is no reason to scrub or scrape it off. When I did it, I could see how the solution changed. It looked like thin milk. At that point, just to wipe off the solution is all you need.

    • @myranda_achvan

      I’ve been using Quickshine for about 13 yrs now on natural wood floors. The owner(we rent) previously had buffed, stained and sealed them, but they were kind of dull. This was over 20 yrs ago. There are spots from furniture drag marks, not scratches. It’s just where the wax gets removed. Can I use this to strip the wax on natural floors? Quickshine has never faded or dulled my floors. I may apply every several months, with cleanings in between. Only place that it shows up dull is if my small dog tinkles on the floor. It’s like the pee strips that wax. Can I use this as a spot stripper and rewax?
