Lots of people talking about how Ashley didn't get asked anything. If it makes you feel better, at 6:28 the reason she got so excited was because she saw someone cosplayed as her character Damian Vadoma from the Darrington Brigade one-shot! (It was me, I was cosplaying. Absolutely lost my mind when she looked at me and got excited.) I wanted to ask a question but I have heart issues and was worried I was going to pass out if I did. Extreme? Yes. But SDCC was a lot of excitement and exhaustion for me.
Travis has not gotten questions before too so it's not unheard of for some cast members to not get a question in a panel. Sorry to hear about your heart issues and hope you can remain healthy in whatever capacity you can as the days go on ❤️💪
I’m the Laudna cosplayer. I didn’t expect my question to flow so well with Katt’s, but Liam’s responses really portray the beauty in storytelling and how DND is healing, which is what I was so keen to express in the first place. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to represent the Critter community and talk to the storytellers who mean so much to us, and pour their hearts into their characters. I was nervous as hell (and as a result, didn’t quite remember what he said until I watched it back, haha) I’m so glad that these incredible storytellers are my idols. Until next time…
a) Your cosplay was awesome. :D b) Liam is the best at combining both darkness and light in his characters and showing just how beautiful they both can be. And he's a marvelous storyteller - I am PRAYING that if we ever get a Caleb novel, he just flatout writes it.
@@allisonm4493 FWIW... I'm writing one for this year's NaNoWriMo (set about six years after the end of C2). :) And Caleb will actually be quoting that comment of Liam's ("the world is still there for all of us").
Always forget the absolute giant of a man that Travis actually is. Edit: Let me clarify, I know he is 6'3 or 4. I just forgot how small everyone else is because we rarely get to see them all standing together in a line. It makes him look significantly larger.
The question about what Molly would have thought of Nott’s revelations had me thinking of something: Caduceus came along at exactly the right moment. Molly was symbolic of the fractured and broken nature of the members of the group at the time; Cad was symbolic of their healing into whole individuals, and in fact facilitated it in so many ways.
Also, Molly would have actually held several of the Nein back in terms of their growth. Because change wasn't good for him. He didn't like it when people changed. Which only makes all the outcry of fans wanting HIM and not Kingsley all the more sad. As I mentioned in the comments, yes, his "leave every place better than you found it" creed was important... but he was still a toxic friend who would rather keep his company in the status quo than to see them move on ahead of him...
@@Memnon-ro4cl and it wasn't even Molly. It was a fresh soul getting a life he could truly call his own. Kingsley was the best way to resolve that, and I respect Taliesin going down that route
Wow, I looked and sounded like such a nervous dingus :'D I asked about Molly/ Kingsley. I wish I had time to thank Liam and Talisien for how they handled the subject of death, grief, and mourning, as it helped me through the loss of my parents. I think the graveside scene happened at 5am (my local time) right before my family was going to intern my parents' ashes together, and it helped me find so much peace.
Okay but the nerves are such a mood and you’re extremely valid, especially since it sounds like you were talking from a place really close to your heart❤️ (If it helps, all I can hear on my question is how full of nerves my voice is so I feel ya, but bc of thar I can also pretty much guarantee you came off perfectly fine to everyone else ❤️)
You did great! I'm glad CR was able to help you through difficult times. I didn't go through a loss as devastating as you (my condolences) but they did help me through some troubled times I was going through. It makes me happy to know that there are other critters out there that have also been healed by their love and how genuine they all are!
That's pretty much every single person who has ever done anything creative ever, be it art, music, or writing, etc. There's always a whole library of stuff that's either unfinished or too crap that's about 100 times bigger than the stuff that actually comes out good.
@@WolfHeathen I've got a whole cloud account I'm too scared to re-open just because I know it contains all my half ideas or quick character concepts or... Really cringe material. Creativity can hurt sometimes 😅
@@jennyfay I have a tab in my OneNote now where I throw that sort of thing - character concepts, turns of phrase, video ideas I want to make, story prompts, half-assed whiteboard-style doodles, whatever... it makes a surprisingly good resource when I'm creatively stuck.
@@samuraiko I have this one page in Docs called "scrap paper" and I try to put ideas on there, but lately it's just been NPC names for my campaign. I think I just need to get over myself and allow my cringe and my creative to mesh.
This was legit the most efficient panel I think I ever have watched them do, I bet if you compared this one to their past panels they answered the most questions in a single hour in this one. I think it might be because the people asking the questions aren’t prefacing their questions with several minutes of commentary. Man I wish there was more panel. I missed these so much. I love listening to their answers.
Caleb destroying the time machine after literally 140.9 episodes of his main goal being to go back in time will never not bring me to tears. What an absolute incredible bit of storytelling.
poor Ashley - nothing changes, she never gets asked a question - even though she's right at the heart of the campaign 3 story as Fearne. Fantastic panel though, especially with Liam and the heart-warming support he gets from the cast and Critters about his life experiences played out through Caleb
It was like this in the past events. It’s partly because in such a short period time it is always difficult for everyone to get asked about. I believe Laura and Travis didn’t get asked questions one time. It is sad though since Ashley missed a bunch of events due to her busy schedule and other projects. I’d love to see more of her talking in these events.
@@FishoD please remember that Ashley has had 2 sets of rules for Fearne - one for Aabria in EXU, who for all her strengths, didn't worry too much about D&D rules, and one for Matt who cares about the action economy idea of D&D and doesn't want to be criticised for "not knowing the rules" on Twitch (he's an expert)
It was such an honor to be there and to be able to ask a question! Getting to meet and take pics with other cosplaying critters has been the highlight of my year so far (I was the Raven Queen)
"Do you have any NPCs that didn't see the light of day?" flashback back to a goblin who's character sheet was ripped in half when Liam murdered it in one shot.
I was the red/glowing staff Keyleth (and the modern Jester who asked about Sam’s habit of playing short characters with secret children in 2019) and gosh was it good to do this again ❤️ …also thank goodness for the playback because I missed so much bc of nerves 😅
Liam being so raw and honest to Katt's question made me tear up. I am a rape victim and my trauma has plagued me for so long, I am just now beginning to transform and rise up from my own ashes. I can't handle needles, so I can't do a permanent tattoo, so I do airbrush of a lot of phoenixes and lotus flowers.
I was there and I had the same thought! I was thinking of a good question for her, but I realized the line was already wrapped all the way to the back of the ballroom... :(
you can tell Christian is a true fan with that opening speech, he was so genuinely nice and he has nothing to do with the company, this is his first thing ever with CR
Three things I learned from seeing them in-person: The entire cast is HOT, They truly love what they do, We packed that goddamn ballroom. (I'm the white shirt left/up from the speakers)
The moment I heard your voice I instantly went 'wow that guy has a good voice, he could do radio or voice over' FOR REAL! I was so happy when they mentioned it. Your players are lucky to have such a nice storytelling voice for a DM!
I usually don't like watching taped panels cause it reminds me too much of my own issues with public speaking, but this was great. Good job everyone that asked a question, y'all nailed it! I was fascinated by each of your questions, and 2 of you made me cry.
@@DelPlays It was his job to make sure the panel finished in time and that they would get through the questions, or as many as possible. It's too bad we didn't get fleshed out answers to all of the questions, but that's the flow of these events. It's not Christian's fault, man.
I was way on the right in a Gilmore cosplay and I had such a great time at SDCC that day. Got to chat with some critters, got an autograph from Robbie Daymond, said hi to Todd Kenreck (who happened to be seated a couple rows ahead of me), and got to see a wonderful panel with wonder people both on stage and in the audience. It was such a great experience and I’m so glad that I was able to make it to SDCC this year. Here’s hoping I can have more like that again and that more critters can as well!
I don't know how the panels work at SDCC or other conventions (I'm not from the USA), but I hope that for future panels the questions will be a little more balanced between the members of the cast. It's unfortunate that Laura, Marisha and Ashley had so few opportunities to talk.
I'm pretty sure it's kind of just first come first served? At least in the past when I've watched panels they all just kind of line up at the microphone and go until the time is up, and whatever gets asked if what gets asked.
@@lawreb91 Yeah, from what I have been told on other sites, it's like you say. But there's the option of questions asked directly by the moderator, or at the end asking to the public if anyone has any other question for specific cast members who may not have been able to participate much. Of all the questions, Laura was the only one who received a question directly addressed to her. Marisha received one together with Matt. And Ashley didn't get any. And when they did managed to participate, it was because of a few general questions. I know that it's customary for Ashley, Marisha and Laura to receive fewer questions of this type at this point (it's really nothing new), but here the disparity was too noticeable idk I hope it's something they can work on in future panels.
My thought process would be to prep multiple questions so I could ask someone who, previous to me, had less questions asked of them, so it would be more balanced and I really adore the whole cast. But I also get it, this might be their first and maybe last chance to ask a character related personal question that they've been wondering for a while.
@@iwillcry Yeah, I don't think fans should take responsibility for something like that tbh Everyone has the right to ask what they want and what interests them most, especially since for some it may be a unique opportunity to do so. It's the crew, I think, through the moderator, who could add questions addressed to each of the members, to open the panel perhaps (maybe from fans who don't get a chance to attend these events?). As in other similar panels. Obviously, I'm not talking about achieving an equal number of questions for each member of the cast, I don't think that's really possible with everything that implies the preparation of such an event, I understand that. My original comment was 'cause in this panel the disparity seemed very evident to me, and perhaps it was so in part because there had been no other panels in years, so. But regardless, I'm grateful that they give themselves the opportunity to participate in panels again and for all the work that goes behind it.
I mean at this point, you might know more about the cast than your neighbours, for some we don't even meet our neighbour once a week, yet we sit still every Thursday for the show, who the cast sort of project their own self to their characters.
Travis is seriously the biggest cheerleader for everyone else in the cast. During panels, during the watch parties for TLoVM, whatever, he is ALWAYS the one giving credit to everyone else for their hard work or their creativity or whatnot. And I'm always, "give yourself some credit, big guy!"

What a wonderful, sweet panel. Everyone was so happy and excited and nervous. Love to see people supporting each other. Also, the cosplays were top notch! The Matt Mercer cosplay was my favorite, spot on.
The question to Liam. And his emotions to the answer. Just had me in tears because obviously he didn't want to talk about it but it was about his past and his parents and the way he rpd in gma was he wanted to go back an change it bit he didn't he chose to burn it all and move one.
Liam, if you every get a chance to read this, that was an excellent answer, you did wonderful, and that was a very tough question that I'm sure loads of people were glad to hear the answer to. Not a lot of people will understand the difficulty of that question, but for those who do, we salute you, sir. I'm sure, after watching that whole campaign, with what I saw from Widogast, there must have been some hardships, glad you're not defeated from them, though. Thanks for being such an inspiration.
Thank you for having the camera on the questions because those costumes all deserve the spotlight Also I would absolutely fan cast Michael Dameski as Orym. That guy defies gravity
My headcanon is that Vex has hired a wizard to perform the Clone spell on Trinket, and repeats the spell every time he dies/is cloned, to make sure he's immortal for at least as long as Vex lives and can keep hiring that wizard.
@@Aetheria60 - Is that in the 5e rules anywhere, or are you just joking about what Laura said? I assume the latter since it's not in the player's handbook Beatmaster Ranger subclass rules. (Which are rather poorly designed as far as a bond between ranger and beast: if it dies, you can bond with a new animal. But it's usually not as survivable as a full PC, so if you're actually RPing a bond with your companion, you'd be reluctant to send it into nasty melee situations. TCE has an alternate version where magically summon a "primal beast", so you could RP that like a familiar, like Liam did with Frumpkin, as the same consciousness across incarnations.)

Best part of molly: he died. Worst part: he got ressurected
@@Memnon-ro4cl and it wasn't even Molly. It was a fresh soul getting a life he could truly call his own. Kingsley was the best way to resolve that, and I respect Taliesin going down that route
Wow, I looked and sounded like such a nervous dingus :'D
I asked about Molly/ Kingsley. I wish I had time to thank Liam and Talisien for how they handled the subject of death, grief, and mourning, as it helped me through the loss of my parents.
I think the graveside scene happened at 5am (my local time) right before my family was going to intern my parents' ashes together, and it helped me find so much peace.
Okay but the nerves are such a mood and you’re extremely valid, especially since it sounds like you were talking from a place really close to your heart❤️

You did great! I'm glad CR was able to help you through difficult times. This was legit the most efficient panel I think I ever have watched them do, I bet if you compared this one to their past panels they answered the most questions in a single hour in this one.

I wouldn't feel so bad, she often mentions she likes it that way.

Thank you cast members and I feel you Liam. Never forget who you are.

I love how well the critters know the cast:
Travis, talk about FOOTBALL
Matt, talk about DMING
Liam, talk about TRAUMA
I mean at this point, you might know more about the cast than your neighbours, for some we don't even meet our neighbour once a week, yet we sit still every Thursday for the show, who the cast sort of project their own self to their characters.
Travis ever so humble. What an awesome man!
