Thank you for uploading. When l was a kid growing up in a small city in the south, l was always in awe of this moving logo thingy before and after certain shows. l thought to myself there sure must be some smart busy people making all of these great shows up in Boston. They were better, more informative and inspiring, nothing like regular tv. l loved them, even Mystery, those programs gave me hope and l did well in school, hoping one day l would get out of that town and make it in a big city. l now live a large midwest city, and work in the science field.
@@bluevip6063 ZOOM, The French Chef, Masterpiece Theatre, Lydia's Italy, Crocket's Victory Garden, Nova, Simply Ming, Evening At Pops with Arthur Fiedler were produced produced by WGBH Boston.
7:35 At the end of some episodes of "Arthur," they would include a remix of the show's ending theme playing over the WGBH logo, without the "BOSTON" text. I like how there is an echo effect at the end, and when I saw the show as a little kid, I liked that variation a lot. Some of the "Arthur" videos we have might include this variation; some of the episodes that were shown on WETA's PBS Kids block also had it (that's what I recall). Whenever I re-watch some of those "Arthur" videos as a grown-up or tune into WETA's children's block in the near future, maybe I will remember a lot of nostalgia from my childhood days!
9:19 is my favorite. Never saw the local PBS logo animation for WGBH before this, only ever saw shows that were produced by the station, and didn't even know it was channel 2. And also didn't realize how long the original animation was. Very cool indeed.
There was a WGBH Sports logo used for tennis coverage, showing the call letters going across the court. At the end, "Sports" had a tennis ball for the O. "American Experience" ends with the WGBH logo as the theme music ends. The original logo brings one show to mind: "Zoom."
Watching PBS programs like Mr. Roger's Neighborhood Square One TV and Where in the world is Carmem San Diego in Pittsburgh it was always this program is brought to you by WQEQ Pittsburgh and WGBH Boston. Loved the song to this logo
To me, it's not the Zooming/Flashing logos that make the logo scary; It's the music. Film/TV Companies use these synth sounds which can be scary to those that don't listen to those synth/moog sounds. I heard that if you look at a scary logo without any audio, It would not be scary. A great amount of the logos that are scary are because of the music.
You missed a few logos. There are the blue still logos from curious george and Peep and the Big Wide World(Season 1), the Still Neon Sign logo from Peep(Season 2) and the logo where the neon sign shines, but Boston can be seen in the middle of the sign during this, seen in Peep(Season 3)
No kidding! I had nightmares about the Flash of Doom logos because the audio sounded like how ghosts or unattractive aliens sound! I’m glad I never saw the Zoom WGBH logos when I was a kid! Those would’ve been even scarier!
PEEP has a lot of potential to become an amazing PBS KIDS and I am so happy to have this in the news Right now I am so happy and proud SEASON 1234 is coming to an amazing state that will bring the world together

Been watching the original 1970's ZOOM shows and all of them just have the blue logo. I would think some of them have the red ones because I remember seeing one of them.
51 years on, the logo sound effect remains unchanged.
