The funders of the Newshour from the following seasons:
1983-1992: AT&T
1989-1993: PepsiCo
1993-1998: New York Life
In 1989, even though the announcer says the financial support of Viewers Like You, the logo still says Public television viewers logo
And Now It Says
"...And By The Financial Support By PBS
Stations From
Viewers Like You...
Thank You."
And by contributions to your PBS station from Viewers Like You. Thank You!

Funds for the pbs newshour is provided by the corporation for public broadcasting & this station & other public television stations.
On October 20, 1995, Robert MacNeil retired as anchor for the newscast.
1983 Is when the Music Changed. The 70's one was awesome but the Early 80'S Newshour theme fits much better!

Truth is, getting the Sesame Street funding credits was easy. I could get all of the seasons. With the NewsHour though, I couldn't even find the Season 1 funding credits.
DellFan Productions I’m sure PBS/WQED/WNET aren’t forthcoming on the matter. You’re awesome for finding these!
Because back then it was called the Robert McNeil Report
