What does the bias button do? You did not used it

Hi Tommy, bias essentially controls the amount of current sent to the tubes, which has a significant impact on the character and amount of the distortion. Less current means less distortion and a thinner sound, more current means more distortion and a thicker sound. The default is a nice happy medium which is why is wasn't changed in the video. Hope this helps!

how come his protools doesn't go on red it just stays in the yellow region?

That's because those are individual tracks that are inside the 32 bit floating environment and they aren't really clipping. However, as soon as you route those tracks to an output (24 bit) the meter would turn red and there would be true clipping. Hope this helps.

Funny thing is that these vids from UA are always recorded in studios. Studios filled with pro stuff we don't have.

Good point . And that was the foundation for my TH-cam channel back when it started over 10 years ago. I was tired of seeing people with professional level studios essentially gushing about their fancy tools. I wanted to prove that good quality audio could be recorded and mixed in a real home studio!!!

There are soooo many plugins today, it's not even funny anymore. Who even uses 10% of them all. I have hundreds and use maybe 10? Also, if I'd use a great EQ and LA-2A the result would probably be very similar to this demo. Not hating just a fact, we are always hunting for that greener grass.
