"Happiness" was the first IAMX song I've ever listened to - many years ago - and I instantly fell in love with the message, with Chris' stellar voice, with the electronic sound that is nothing but coolness in perfection!✨️🖤🌠 I absolutely agree with the lovely previous comment: Your commitment to each and every artist on the channel is absolutely wonderful and it's clearly noticeable that you carry a sincere passion for music within your hearts, which sets you apart from so many other reaction channels! It doesn't take a long time to get to the core of the lyrical content here, but in my view the message "Happiness" spreads is as important as it gets. If songs could be called soulmates, I would regard "Happiness" as one of my kindred spirits as it represents everything my own personality and worldview is about. Why? Because I feel almost ashamed of all those people walking around, caring about nothing but smalltalk and nonsense, being full of materialism and driven by a solely money-orientated system, pursuing a fake happiness that they are told and taught to seek for even though it has nothing to do with a real, spiritual or heartfelt pursuit of happiness. They pretend to be happy to suppress the emptiness and hidden pain in their lives because they don't want to feel, contemplate or evolve. This is what this world and this system transforms people into from early childhood on, and my opposition to all of this is one of my main reasons for keeping up an alternative lifestyle far away from this shallow mainstream every single day. THIS SONG IS A MONUMENT!🖤🎹🎶🖤
I'd think you guys would be surprised by his earlier work with Sneaker Pimps or even the IamX album Kiss & Swallow.

Kiss + Swallow is such an amazingly good album!!!! (They all are) but that album has some of my favorite songs
This song is such a vibe in itself and I can relate to the heartfelt message conveyed by the lyrics, due to feeling alien in this world and not understanding why people choose superficiality and materialism over the truly important things in life such as love and nature. It's very emotional and the video emphasises the emotions of feeling saddened at the "everyday hypocrisy" of people pretending to be happy. Thank you for reacting to IAMX again and for taking so much time to explore the song from different perspectives. 🖤💜

I'd definitely suggest Mercy. It's such a beautiful and poignant song!
I used to work in retail, and I hated it; I hated that I had to sell a good line to people, even when I didn't believe in the product. I think it's the fact that you, as an individual, has to confront the fact that yes, you can be bought, even against your own beliefs, they can buy you because you need to survive, and they know it.
IAMX is preaching, we just need to listen.

And I love Chris Corner's music and his videos, they're always something almost psychadelic about it. I think my the most favorite songs are Sorrow, Background Noise or Alive In New Light. And I Agree, that Metanoia is an amazing album.
I love IAMX so much. Makes me sad that it's such an underrated band on reaction channels..
I had the pleasure of seeing them live recently after being a fan since around 2006. (Saw them in Tampa last Year, met Jon Siren who gave me a drumstick after trying to bribe him LOL); I uploaded a video on my channel of the show.
Typically I'm a metalhead but IAMX has always hit me hard in so many ways.
I think, personally, knowing about Chris's drug use, depression and anxiety, the song Happiness feels like both a dream and a self critique, as well as a bit of jealousy which I totally understand... But that's just my personal opinion after listening to their music for so long.
One of my most favorites is Alive in New Light, because it feels like he overcame, briefly, his internal darkness.
Edit: omg just noticed the Nightwish in the back! Thats my most favorite band ever since 2000!!! (Thanks mom, RIP!)
