3 Months of Drawing in 60 Seconds… Architectural elevation drawing from start to finish

- It’s finally finished! This drawing took roughly 40 hours from beginning to end, done mostly in short 1-2 hour spurts late at night after everyone else in the house had fallen asleep.
Graphite (2mm lead holders) on Stonehenge cotton rag paper, 22” x 15”.
Look out for full length videos of my next drawing coming out soon, along with tutorial videos explaining my process and how you can draw buildings by hand like this, too.
this looks absolutely stunning
😭so underated
Thanks for the kind words!
I love ur details. Detailing is a major part of masterpieces. ❤
Thanks so much! Details really do make the difference.
You used classic architecture. Amazing!!! Jumping from generations and communities!
Enjoying this with maximum delight.
This is the type of art I do, I’m still learning but I love how beautiful and detailed it is, I love landscape, perspective, and other art forms that are similar to this, so this is really inspiring, have a good day.
This is beautiful!!! ❤
Genius
Soo nice well done ✨🍃
Attention to detail is well executed here, absolutely beautiful.
This is what we call perfection
I can feel this 😢
this is something professors would give only 2 weeks for
Two weeks wouldn’t be a problem as a student, but as a full time architect with a kid, trying to finish a drawing in your spare time sometimes takes longer than you’d planned haha.
Best drawing I have ever seen
That much dedication deserves some love❤
Amazinggg
Woooow. What fine art work.
I thought it was an apartment for a second
Btw IT'S SOO AMAZING💖✨
It's very beautiful
Thanks! I’m working on a new drawing now and hoping to upload some full length videos along with more shorts that will document the whole process. Follow along if you’re interested!

Hi,Canadian Artist. Your work is just marvellous. I love the fine details that you showcase. I have recently been to the similar artist channel @30SecIdeas who is very creative like you. Keep up the good work,🌄 Kudos! 👏
I just discovered you from the r/architecture subreddit. Your stuff is just amazing
Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words! Hopefully very soon I'll be posting some full length videos on this channel that go a little further in depth into my process. In the meantime, you can find me on Instagram @pencilarchitect where I post regar updates on my most current work.

Profesors be like: now do it in 2h exam 🥲
Good great God in Heavens!
This short is so satisfying to behold.
Do you have tutorials on the rules regarding the drawing of the outside facade of buildings?
Thanks so much! I don't have any tutorials yet, but I'm hoping to create some in the future if there's enough interest.
❤❤❤❤
Cool
in the past until 80s or 90s this required hardwork and dedication of the architect to make building drawings but nowadays we can do 3 months of work in less than 3 days in CAD softwares. like revit.
CAD is what I do at my day job, this is all for fun 🤘
Damn
I want to be an architect
There should be more attention towards this
superb💗please full vedio
So a painter can also be architecture if he want
Victoria college and university in Bangladesh ❤❤
this is a beautiful job!
can i find a full tutorial for it somewhere?
Thanks for the kind words! I don’t have anything yet, but eventually I plan to make a series of longer videos that explain each of the techniques I’m using. Stay tuned!
How do you keep from smudging with your hand?
😲
No comment just how?!
Can i get tutorial of it
Can you make your all this video because I want to become a artist like you
Looks great but also like a copy of old styles
Thanks! This is actually an existing historical building.
Ah my bad@@pencilarchitect
What tools do you use? What kind of pencils? Thanks.
Hey, I just posted a new short that explains what kind of pencils I use! Hope you enjoy!
How could you draw that stone texture? I've tried to draw a stone wall, but i just can't get those stone texture
1 question for those who's studying architecture
Do that little shapes that floors and windows need to be same size if yes how?
Please recommend me some tutorial i wanna learn this(i have different major but love doing this as hobby)
They should be the same size if that's what the design calls for! I'm hoping to make some tutorials soon, so keep an eye out!
Probably a very stupid question, did this take 3 months to draw or it took 3 months to learn? Im interesting in learning and this is the first video ive seen.
I'm not sure I understand your question. It took me three months to draw, a lot longer to learn how to draw like this. If you're interested in learning, I'm hoping to post some tutorials soon!
@@pencilarchitect you answered my question correctly, thank you
Great work! I'm doing a video about elevation drawings, just wondering can I use your work as a show case in my video? And of course I'll leave a link to your channel.
Sure! Go for it. I look forward to seeing what else you showcase!
@@pencilarchitect Big thx to you! Can I get a clear version your art by any chance? If not, I totally understand that since you are selling your piece.
@@the_wang Check out my website (my username .com) there are a few images that should be good enough quality for a video.
how
Still hard for me to draw building
Kishimoto can do this in a week Drawing tho
What type of ruler and pen do you have?
Do you usually draw by hand in architecture? Is drawing digitally more frequent or hand drawn?
I'm considering taking architecture. Pls can you also tell me some harsh truths that I should know? 🙏🙏🙏😭
Harsh truths? Oof haha. Well, a lot of people regret taking architecture because it's a very demanding job that isn't paid very well compared to fields with a similar amount of training like medicine or law. Also, the job itself is very different compared to what you do in school.
These days 99% of drawing is done on a computer, the only real exceptions are quick sketches done to communicate ideas. You'll have the opportunity to draw by hand in school, but even there computer drafting is the norm. I do these kinds of drawings on my own time because I came from a background in art and missed using my hands to draw. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Kon si pencil use kr rhe ho?
Tbh at this point I woulda given up
Engineer : 😬
Iska video isy drawing ka
Somone tell him that he should give a visit to Mojang Studios
I don't know what took you so long to make that, anyone can make that in 2-3 weeks. Still that's a masterpiece 👍
Yo can't drawing this
I’m hoping it’s on top of a full time work load because that is slow if it was several hours a day.
@@samanthafranklin9948 Yeah this was done a little at a time in my free evenings as a full time architect and parent haha.
А тени вы делаете под 45°?
Yes I draw shadows at 45 degrees in most cases for simplicity. Great question!
You cant draw every single brick on a bui- 😮
hey does an architect do the math or the engineer does?
No, architects do very little math, that's a bit of a myth, the actual calculations are done by structural engineers. For architects the important thing is to know the rules of thumb so that you don't design something totally unrealistic that has to completely change when you get input from the engineer. Hope that helps!
@@pencilarchitect oh thx i was thinking of switching interior design
3months😂😂😂😂
That’s great, but the client doesn’t like the spacing on the windows. Erase everything, fax it to my site in 30 minutes. Also we’re withholding your payment for another month. Good luck ❤
And that's why I only do these drawings in my spare time for fun, and not at work haha.
What is that pencil called ?
It's a Staedtler 925 "All Black", I have one in the 0.5mm size and one in the 2.0mm size, both of which you can see in the video. They're great pencils, and I love the way they look!
@@pencilarchitect drawing looks brilliant!!!
the one you are using looks different, I am trying to buy it hahah i am so obsessed with architecture.@@pencilarchitect
Thank you! I’m inspired! Lots of talent and perseverance in “60 seconds”
