I don’t even know why people would think it would be real. A squared off boxy device on your body for long periods of time is very uncomfortable. Even if it was a product it wouldn’t sell well.
I feel like design for tech has plateued.. and companies should just wait a year or two before launching another product.. we don't need product launches for the same phone every year. Like the macs, apple watches, and phones.
Sales slow for the last 40% of the period between release cycles. A 2 year cycle creates a whole 10 month sales-slowing period. In addition the lack of urgency to hit faster release deadlines tends to activate the principle that "a project expands to take up the time given to it by a deadline." So you would be getting slower tech progress as well. If you don't need something, just relax and don't buy it. These devices are meant to last more than a year anyway. If you want the new one 3,4,5,6, or 7 years down the line, get the one that pleases you when you're ready for it. No need to get pissy and bite the hand that feeds you for "not doing enough" in a short 12 month period. Keep your old device and be happy.

Wish they leaned into buttons like Garmin and made a circular watch. I mean, there has not been a major update (my opinion) since Series 4. Sure they added Blood Oxygen sensor but it is medically not accurate and they stole the technology (not bashing Apple but honestly am unimpressed with their lack of innovation the past many years). I just hope they make a big change. Still love your channel and Apple
I don’t agree with this assessment at all - I believe that the Apple Watch has plenty of room to grow and improve in the coming years. That does not mean that the Watch has significant changes every year and perhaps Apple should change the release schedule for the Watch to every two years vs one, as the current release schedule forces Apple to come up with made-up improvements to justify the new release, which prompts videos like this one
You're totally right about room to grow. The WatchOS is just a baby compared to what it's capable of becoming. Slower release schedules = slower innovation, so I can't agree with you on that one. You're thinking wrong if you think they need to justify any changes at all. Whether the improvements are big or large is of no real concern to the release cycle. You simply soldier ahead and give the best you got with each release. No need for consumers to get grumpy about that, these devices are meant to last for 5+ years. It's not like you're "SUPPOSED TO" upgrade each time and get yourself all upset that the improvements are just trickled improvements.

On the brightside, I will gladly take a 42mm series X with largely reduced bezels considering im on a 40mm S6. That is still tastefully large. The rumoured 45mm was just ridiculous.

I don't have much faith in the rumor that Apple will replace the 2 sizes with the one 49mm Series X. That's basically cutting off a chunk of your customer base. I could see them adding a 3rd size option, that actually makes sense.
That rumor has already been debunked, as it was due to a misreporting of the diagonal length of the screen conflated with the size of the watch which is denoted by the height of the case. The diagonal is 49mm, but the height of the case is 46 so it will be sold as a 46mm watch.
The bigger the screen gets and they keep the watch band connection, the higher the corner radius is going to be. Seems like we’re slowly moving more and more towards a circular Apple Watch.

I have 3 theories. 1. Boxy is not comfortable. The human body is not boxy, so for comfort a wearable should also not be. The design like it is now, is I think the best for the Apple Watch. Just because we're bored with the same form factor for already 10 years, doesn't mean we're bored with the functionality.
My prediction (definitely going to wrong tho) is that the watch band connector won’t be magnetic it will be the old style. Just like how the ultra and 45mm now support the same watch band size, there will only be one watch band size moving foreard
Going bigger will please half the people but I fear it's sexist toward people with smaller wrists. Also, rounder is more important for many genres of female fashion. There is going to be 2 sizes available which are 45mm and 49mm

Go 45mm and never look back. The smaller bezels allow a lot of that extra 45mm to not take up so much space.

Series 4 comes in 40mm actually. But the X will likely come in 42 and 46.

I was fine moving from my 6 to the Ultra 2. Iterations are fine until non-invasive CGM, which is the next wallet-killer for me.
