You Pressley Girls sure are pretty. These fishin' trips will be such good remembrances when you get old. I remember all the times I went fishin' with my family. I think this was the song you were trying to remember, Katie. Sung it in church many a time. There's more to it, I believe, but my old brain can't remember it! Loved being with y'all fishing! Reminded me of all the times daddy would take us all fishing for a day! One sister hated to put a worm on her hook, but it never bothered me and I'd aggravate her so bad sticking em in her face just to hear her holler! Til daddy told me I was scaring the fish! He & mama fished, and he taught us 3 girls and our brother to fish! Our brother & his son still carry on the tradition! Our son learned to fish at 4 yrs old with his pawpaw (my dad) and I treasure those pictures!! Praying Granny is feeling well & God bless all y'all from VA! 🙏🐟🪶🪱🐚💗

Millipedes primarily eat dead plant material. Where you saw those, there were dead fern leaves, so they were possibly munching on that. They play a big part in helping the forest to decompose materials.
Love the mountains. I lived in Franklin and Cullowhee when I was at WCU.
Some of my favorite memories of when my kids were small , we would find our favorite creek, set up camp and spend the weekend fishing and playing in the water and cooking on the creek bank.i often wonder how many bobbers are down the creek now in the bushes......
What made the villain sick in Dennis The Menace was Dennis making him eat the whole can so as not to waste food. Remember, the key to the handcuffs had fallen in there when Dennis dropped it. Very nice seeing the fishing and then actually eating them. All around great family knowledge

Your mom is such a good sport! Those of us who have older children just enjoy watching them enjoy life. I used to go fishin’ as a child and now I’m wanting to start going again as an adult. Such a lovely view and time y’all seemed to have.

The metal stake with the loop up top, if all along the incline, might have been for a rope that has since deteriorated or was removed. Several steep banks in our region have ropes to help hikers climb and descend more safely.

When y’all were all sitting down eating by the stream, I was immediately taken back to my childhood in NC. I was born in Lincolnton, but spent most of my upbringing in Charlotte. We would go for picnics along those wonderful streams, and play in that cold water! Nothing like it!! 💔🙏🏼🐾🙏🏼💔

The water is so clear it's beautiful. Here in Florida our creeks an rivers are dark.
I love fly fishing Fires Creek when I'm up to my cabin in Hiawassee, GA... I live in Maine in the summers and Gainesville, FL the rest of the year... but my wife and I bought our cabin 5 years ago in north Georgia and love spending as much time as we can in the Appalachians... I'm leaving Maine in a couple weeks and will be stopping by the cabin on the way to Florida... my parents grew up in southern West Virginia and I used to love going there on holidays... so your videos speaking of life in the Appalachians reminds me of their upbringing in West Virginia.
Folks , this video is for sure a multi-watch masterpiece . All of it features the beauty of all the multitude of greens in the forest , the little creatures like the millipede , the crystal waters and colorful stones, and the lichen and moss covered riverbank to name a few . Corie , thanks for the Bible verse from your Bible study book . I paused the video to add to my notes in cell phone . Matt, what was your belt knife today ? A Bushlore by chance ? I truly love a catch and cook and today was so fine with streamside fried trout and pork and beans and coconut pie . Katie, I see by your belt gear that you have the attitude that demands that you and your family be left alone to mind your own business . Both thumbs up to you , Ma'am ! I really enjoyed watching y’all having a fun day on the river. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. I like to fly-fish, though I’m not very good. Since I’ve not been well, I can’t get out on the water, so I watching the family was so much fun, it brought tears to me. There’s so much beautiful water in the Blue Ridge. There’s a river in Madison County, Va called the Rose. It’s one of the only rivers where you can find Unakite from my understanding .

I heard a pro freshwater match fisherman on radio saying that before he touches any bait or any tackle that's going in the water he would always grab some silt from the river bed and wash his hands with it. His theory was that we have oils on our hands that get transferred to the bait and the fish can taste it. Some people have oils that the fish just don't like and hands get contaminated with all sorts of other things that could also put them off. Perhaps that's why Katie caught something if she'd been picking rocks out of the water.
What an awesome time spent with family. A picnic with fresh caught fish to share with one another. Those are the best times. I love how your mom enjoys watching you all fish, enjoying nature and all it has to over. So special. God bless Pressley family. You all are an amazing, beautiful family.

Katie...have you tried using Wheatie balls as bait...you can catch some whoppers...mix water and wheaties to a kind of dough, form balls and let the dry in the sun. You need to let them dry so they stay on the hook. Good luck!
