- Hey guys! So this is how I kinda wanna do vlogs for now on, if i film one ill upload it whenever, in addition to my Wednesday Videos. So, this has been whats going on! I got my very own pets! Yes, I know their fish but this is the first time I'm taking care of something on my own so im excited!

"I'm the type of person who gets bored easily"
Pets become apart of the family, and you can't just let go of them.. you can't just get "bored" with a pet. Because that's kinda wrong.

people out there keeping oscars in 10 gallon tanks, etc. would never dream of getting a puppy and keeping it in a shoebox it's whole life. They'd never buy a bird and not clean it's cage ever. I put it to people like this: cats, dogs, hamsters and other pets breathe the same air as you and are usually comfortable at the same temps as you. Making them happy and healthy is not so hard. Fish are totally different and it's up to you to create a healthy environment for them. They can't do it themselves and can't voice their agony when they are improperly cared for, so the fishkeeper has to make extra effort to keep them in a healthy home. That extra effort pays off hundredfold in a beautiful and relaxing tank you can enjoy anytime.
Agreed. They can’t voice what is wrong so it’s up to you to give them a safe and clean environment for them while also making sure its a good size for them. Besides it’s more fun to watch them explore and thrive then seeing it unhappy and sick because the fish keeper couldn’t do their part right.

For the people offended of her setup .. I agree with you that its not the best for the fish she got and she shouldve done more research but instead of hating why not help her out .. recommend her items that help her out .. perhaps a better filter , heater , airstones , lighting , etc .

I was gonna get a fish in a 10 gallon tank but it needed a 20 gallon tank. My dad didn’t let me get it and I’m so happy that happened because now that fish can have a happier life in his proper sized tank.
@@alizehlakhani4265 good for your dad! My family did the same, I said I wanted a 20 gallon for a betta and they said you’ll want to add on later so I should get a bigger one. I got a 36 and worried I would stress out the betta so I got mollies instead (my second option, I did research on them and they’re doing good) I want a goldfish one day but with the mollies I can’t so I gotta wait, still though i’m happy with the size tank and my family was right, I want to add on to the mollies.

"Finding fish is like rocket science" well you just can't throw in any type of fish in a thing of water and call it a day. I work at Petsmart and so sad they didn't educate you and let you know you should wait AT LEAST TWO WEEKS BEFORE STARTING TO ADD FISH. I hope your fish do well though. Make sure you do research, you can never do too much research :)

Betta they tried selling me on these tiny ass bowls the more research I did Bettas need at least 2.5 gallons a filter and a heater to survive. They are still considered tropical fish .... thanks for being at least someone educated in fish working there because these people think oh yeah definitely a bowl will be fine and they do not mention the above nor the water conditioner.
Yeah unfortunately there are people like that. But I care more about the animals in my store. I discourage people getting bowls and anything smaller than a 2.5. If they want to take my advice, great. But some people are so stubborn and think fish can survive in a cup all I can do is watch and hope the fish survives 😭 hopefully they start hiring people near you who actually care and are educated!

Wish you would have done even the slightest bit of research on how to properly start a fish tank. Your tank needs to cycle for far more than 3 days or whatever you did, and goldfish are not at all suitable for a 10 gallon, especially since you have no experience with controlling the nitrogen cycle and correctly maintaining a tank. :/
Julia Lynn Everyone learns as they go. Not everyone is going to know everything they need to know when they first get a fish. I think she did a decent job considering the fact that she's a beginner, she got a good sized tank with a filter and she acclimated the fish. When I first got my fish, I didn't know I had to acclimate or cycle, and my fish was absolutely fine. My second fish was different, but I learned and now he is extremely happy.
She didn't get a good-sized tank at all. I really don't believe in the whole 'learn as you go'. If you're getting a pet do all your research beforehand.
Christina Diaz When does one know when they've done "all" the research there is to know? It's better to educate than to criticize. Her tank is a decent size for now because her fish are small. She still has time to invest in a bigger tank. I'm sure she's done some type of research considering she bought a 10 gallon tank with a filter and didn't stuff the fish in a bowl like a lot of people do. I understand all of you people who seriously love animals because I do too. But I do NOT understand why you have to hate on people so much, instead of just telling them how to take care of the animal!!! Its not like people automatically know how to take care of them. JUST FRICKIN TELL HER NICELY GOSH DANG IT!!! ok ill calm it now... Anyways, three years ago, I had never owned a fish before. I got a 0.4 gallon tank (just kill me already ok I'm sorry) and no filter or heater (again, sorry) but that fish lived for two years!!! (it was a betta and that is their average lifespan) So guys, this proves that even a complete beginner can still learn to take care of their fish or pets, and not everyone has to be an expert to purchase an animal.

Darren Cooper That's smart. It's a major commitment. We were very deep in the fish keeping hobby a few years ago. When I say deep, I mean we had 28 fish tanks ranging from 10 gallon to 150 gallon, freshwater, saltwater, breeding, etc. No free time. Lol. We ended up selling everything and now, I just have two Bettas, both in a large, heated, filtered tank. And even with those guys, I debated whether or not I wanted to get back into it for a solid 4 months. It can be an addicting hobby and at this point, I just try to avoid the pet store! Hopefully she will read up on the goldfish and take their care seriously.

Darren Cooper At least they're not in a bowl....Lol. But, yea, I've never been a fan of Goldfish (personally). They are more demanding than saltwater fish, in some ways. We'll see, I guess, but I have very low expectations...
You should get some bubble stones, they help oxygenate the water and moves the water around which helps the filter work better (it is totally optional, but with my goldfish they were a lot healthier after I got the bubble stones) also do really frequent water changes so the ammonia levels dont get too high (which is very deadly for fish). This might sound a bit weird but if you take a carrot and cook it and then dice it up into really really tiny pieces goldfish love them. Good luck with the fish!!!!

Hey! Just a quick heads up. Goldfish need at least a 20 gallon tank per fish so a 55-60 gallon would be necessary you also need more decorations such as live plants. You need a bigger filter because of there bio load. Anyways. Do better
I didn't know you lived in Orlando, lol the Walmart you got the fish from btw is horrible and those fish are usually unhealthy.
Goldfish are a long term commitment and need a really, really good filter. At the time I have three common goldfish (among other pets as well) and eventually they will be taking up a 75gal tank since as adults goldfish will be pretty large in general. Not only that, but you should expect them to live upwards of 30 years if you happen to keep them healthy and provide the tank size needed. Goldfish aren't in any way easy pets and you should have instead just gotten a heater and good filter and instead chose a betta for that ten gallon you have. Unless you continually upgrade the tank, expect your goldfish to die an incredibly premature death in the end. Just some things worth nothing. Otherwise, if you really are desperate for a pet then perhaps look into rodents. A hamster can easily live in a ten gallon tank setup and they barely live as long or require as much space as three whole goldfish. Or even a type of reptile could work too.

Of course Walmart fish pass away very often at young ages, because many owners don't know the proper care, as well as their horrible care in the store. She said in the comment they will EVENTUALLY need a 75 tank, not when they're young though. Also, I'm a firm believer goldfish should have a minimum of 20 gallons to start off with, especially if it's long. :)

I have 52 pets...all rescues. I rescue a lot of animals and I think you will be a great pet owner! Pets can cheer someone up in a sad time, make people happy. I think every person who can care for an animal should have a pet. They are amazing.

If you’re a vegetarian then I’m going to assume you like animals (I’m vegetarian for this reason) so if you do you need to do way more research because you are not giving this animal the care it needs they do not have a voice to tell you what your doing is wrong these fish require way more room than what you are giving them they need at least a 60 gallons for those 3 fish you are not giving them a good life you made an impulse buy on fish that deserve better there are a lot of things wrong with what you did I’m just pointing out a few you need to do your research because it’s not fair to the 3 fish you just got to live in these terrible conditions

I had goldfish koi guppy gaurami every kind of fish in plastic tubs without any filter or oxygen tubes or temperature things, i just added rock salt, aqua safe and live plants and some clean natural stones and they are all perfectly all right . I would advise to get a fish from a breeder and not a petstore. Petstores often keep the fishes in small tanks and crowed them together which can cause a lot of ammonia, and it some cases can be deadly later on if not treated right away, sometimes especially in feeder fish tanks a few of the fish are already dead due to the poor water condition. I would also advise to get a bigger tank, i have a ranchu goldfish and the lil guy has a 50 gal tank all to himself haha. Some proper decorations for the fish are Sand (Rocks were well to, but food gets stuck in them, and fish will often just shove the whole rock in there mouth and spit it out, but they can also choke on it too) proper plants (can be plastic) a proper place for the fish to hide, a light, a proper pump (may need more then one depending on the tank). Sometimes, its not the best idea to put alot of fish in the same tank,. hope this helps! (if im wrong on some of the things i said please let me know! im still doing research haha)

So much wrong here I'm not sure where to start.. please watch some care videos on the fish you got that tanks really isnt big enough its better then what a lot of people keep them in but still. Fish are not "less exciting" and not much less work if cared for right.
She said that she ended up getting 3 because her friend made her. You don't just add another life to your family because why not.. this is something you plan for. I planned for a month for my bettas.. This is so hard to watch.

Okay, I know this video is from months ago, but here's some tips for if you ever plan to get fish again. 1) a fantail goldfish needs at least 20 gallons for the first one and 10 per other. 2) you should never go by the color but by the species and how good of beginner fish they are. 3) Those goldfish aren't going to get bigger and more colorful, the small tank is going to stunt their growth and if anything they'll lose color. 4) that tank needs plants whether they're fake or real. 5) where's the tank hood and light?

Getting a new pet is always something very exciting, remember that having fish is going to be trial and error so don't get discouraged if you have casualties you learn as you go.
I learned that the hard way. Got my dalmation mollies a month ago, I started with 5 but the first one died suddenly and another got sick a week later. They didn’t make it but the other 3 have gotten bigger and seem to be much healthier then when we first got them. Though to help keep them safe i’m saving up for a quarantine/sick tank that way I won’t risk any others getting sick because of one and so I can monitor them a little more closely. While I am upset that the two passed (Taco Cat and Long Island) I now know how to better care for them when they feel ill, and how to improve their overall life with me. I’m gonna make sure those fish are happy.
OMG why is everyone being so rude? You can be professional and nice at the same time!! And I’m not saying she didn’t do anything wrong (she did but not to be rude) I bet everyone commenting those comments on what she did wrong, I bet when they got their first fish they did things wrong too!

The fishes are goldfish and that means that soon theyll need a bigger tank, goldfish will get pretty big. They also need live plants maybe like java fern that’s a good one and aracaris and westaria are some good plants
Everyone should always do research when buying an animal. You shouldn’t impulse buy it (you shouldn’t buy it because it’s cute) or for the views on TH-cam. You should buy it because animals are your passion and you truly care for the care and well being.

Gold fish need 50 gallon tank for the first one and 30 gallons for each one so in your case you would need a 110 gallon tank did you do any research?

The uk: All goldfish or larger fish HAVE to go in a pond, small fish can but may be eaten by the larger ones.

I would recommend getting a betta fish or a ‘fighting fish’ they would do fine in a ten gallon and they don’t need a big filter and they need a heater. Goldfish need a 30 gallon... and plants... and not flakes.
I love your videos but just some advice that can help your fish live longer is having a 20 gallon tank for 1 fish.

Not a good idea to shop at petco or petsmart or any pet store in general. You should have adopted. Now i understand they are fish but you can adopt fish believe it or not. I have a local animal shelter that have fish up for adoptionm

U need to clean the gravel with a gravel cleaner and put new water in every week and I have some and I got mollies and they are one of the easiest to take care of or I could get guppies
