Hey Tom, just letting you know the height it can fly to is actually 30 metres not 10, accomplished it today in a fair bit of wind too. Will try again in calm conditions with my wi-fi extender on to see if it will exceed that height. Nice review

I just bought the iron man edition for my 6 year old son for Christmas 🎄. I think this will be more than enough for him. He loves to watch me with my Mavic pro and ,my Traxxas Aton. I wanted something that was easy to use but still a good drone and nothing too much like one of the cheap bottom line type toy drones if that makes sense. I felt like this was the best compromise.
Buy this bad boy . The tello is so cool ,it's a fantastic drone and you won't be sorry . Well worth the money . Some tips Make sure you calibrate the tello , with the easy to do guide , other wise the tello may veer off and not stay in one place . Also tello loves light so make sure you do not , fly in dark conditions .the tello hovers in one place which makes it so easy to learn how to fly it you don't have to keep adjusting and calibrating . I was looking at this for my friend and his son which I have now bought for them and I'm sure they will have fun at the entry level price. I've been watching tello reviews and feeling a bit iffy about it's quality but it was only when I saw the photos did I know that it wasn't meant to compare to budget cinematic drones. It's a selfie drone meant for beginners and actual hobbyists!
The video quality is honestly okay. The picture quality however is pretty good! Which is nice considering I have a nice view where I live which will be even better after taking some pictures with this drone! Cant wait

This is just a comment on the link you gave for the spark alternative. They are pushing the "spark fly more combo" in ALL colours and want €899 with a "special offer" of a €200 reduction in price. BUT all the stand alone drones [€499], in ALL colours are all marked "out of stock", which is strange as they are obviously available in the fly more offer! DJI appear to be greedy and are trying to get at least €200 more out of any unlikely customer! Sorry to rant but I hate it when suppliers try to make us pay more than we have to. Your video was very interesting and I think the Tello drone is excellent.
Coreless brushed motors are in fact the most efficient on micro quads.. brushless are much heavier and suck more power that's why brushed whoops have almost twice the flight time as their brushless counterparts
To me if your thinking about getting into drones this is a great starter. For the money it’s good (yeah not the best) but it does do a lot for the money. Camera is great on it. It’s not very good in winds but on a normal days it’s fine. Also you can code on it and change stuff. At the end of the day you can get this for £100 or less and if you think it is a 5mins thing. Then you not lost a lot of money and you can get half of it back. So yeah give it ago and you will enjoy it.
I picked up my Mavic today, and Tello tomorrow. Someone just said don't buy a drone you can't afford to crash. Well, it's not that I can't afford to replace it but brand new, it wouldn't really thrill me so I figured it might be best to buy a cheap drone as well, looked into it and one review sold me it the Tello there and then. But I also figured you could probably use a Tello for really close to the ground shots, interior shots - I mean, the Mavics not designed for everything. It's a bit of an F1 or Indy car, designed for the track, or the sky, not the streets and dirt tracks so I could see it coming in handy, and if I crash it, we'll, it looks like it'll escape unscathed and if I lost it in a river, well, at $99 or £ in my case, its not a big deal. Looking, I see you live in Germany so I should be able to buy stuff without customs demanding 20% sales tax and opening parcels losing stuff so will look into it because I'm willing to help those who help me for free on TH-cam. I love your content.

I modded my tello by wiring a lightweight 3000mah Lithium Polymer battery out of a portable backup charger. I also kept the Circuitry of the USB backup and installed it under the drone. I get a little less than a Hour and 20 minutes now. Don’t do this unless your experienced with light soldering. Lithium Polymer is a dangerous battery so keep it protected. I wrapped the battery and circuit with a 1 foot piece of bicycle inner tube.
Awesome mod Lucifer, I've also been thinking of hooking up a small power bank sort of thing. Would you be so kind to share some more detail. I have a 10000mah power bank which I guess may be just too heavy.
Karthik that would be too heavy, my tello with a 3000 is about the limit, as the motors can hardly lift what it already does, I don’t recommend doing this unless you don’t fly fast as you’ll find your tello nosing and losing altitude. Take it slow xd

Thanks for the video. I bought Ryze Tello a month ago however am disappointed with its performance, it can't hover . I tried several times to fly the Tello drone indoors but always failed, the indoor light was okay it just can't stay at one place. Always veard all over the place.

he said 10.000 mAh should do fine. I use a power bank of the same capacity for my phone (almost 1 year) and have never had any problems with it. -- Denver 10.000 mAh, PBS-10002A.

Hey Murtaza, the WiFi extends the horizontal distance only; The 10m vertical height is limited by the software, not by the range. Stay tuned and fly safe!

That's the main flaw in the Tello Yuneec Breeze is the best cheap camera drone option 12 mp camera records internally costs around $130
If you land it in the water at least your videos are saved then, i never had problems with the way it saves files

Anyone (2019 Jul) have overheating error message issues when setting up for flight, like around 3 minutes of turning on Tello but not yet airborne?
Just keep it in your hand, or keep upside down until the take off. Otherwise it will heat real fast.

The remote controller is a gamevice controller for iphone. Can I connect it wih an android phone?
I crashed tello many times, some crashes were kinda hard but it works flawlessly.

it only extends horizontal distance, but there is an app on the android app store which can adjust the height limit to 30m
