Don't do it, music is sacred, and there's nothing like owning an album u love
I compare the nostalgia of opening a new wrestling figure to how I do peeling off the plastic of a new metal Iron Maiden/Judas priest cd . Love the channel dude it’s like I find something new I love every day
Lots of those bands don’t exist in Spotify or I tunes. Don’t sell your collection
Carlos rodrigo Lopez machuca you definitely get it. Lots of deep cuts for sure. I do have the collection backed up in 3 places
Back up? Are you serious? Why don’t you take a digital picture of your action figures as a back up, and sell them all! Buy a CD player and listen to those treasures, .......you are not a metal fan, you are a cd collector
Don’t do it!!!! I know cds are disappearing but I can tell you that many songs are NOT at any streaming platforms, I use Amazon music, Apple Music and Spotify and many times I find myself looking for songs that they don’t have and I do have on cd so you will regret, also you can add a nice CD player to your music system and keep playing them. Anyways hope you don’t do it man
Keep this in mind....purchasing actual CDs is one of the only way that alot of bands make enough money to tour and make new CDs. Digital music like spotify and apple music doesn't bring money to the musicians. Unless we wont CDs to become obsolete then we must support the bands by buying their Merch.
All about t shirts that is where the bands make the $ unless they signed a ridiculous 360 deal
Man I could never get rid of my CD's, that room is a holy sanctum, a massive part of what makes you you. That is a sweet Manilla Road section BTW! Always think Manilla Road are one of those bands that only Metal fans are aware of, almost like there's a group of elite bands that only the chosen few are aware of. Slough Feg are another one of those bands for me.
I started my Metal CD collection in 2004 and it's roughly the size of the shelves on the right. There were times when I considered selling the stuff but I soon realised that I would regret this for the rest of my life. My only problem is space
Epic!!! I just recently got back into collecting CDs But dude dont sell your CD collection. Buy a CD player they still sell them. Love physical copies better than digital
I couldn't agree with you more 100%
Dirty digital crap, I'll never take that route, I'll always buy physical CD or Vinyl..Never going back to Cassette the worse form to play music on
Ok but do you take your vinyl player on the go or how exactly does that work...!? I also collect CDs but the "dirty digital crap" is still way more practical for listening.
@@99xara99 Do you think you're a comedian? I think you seem to be missing the point entirely. Buying digital is a big no to me, It's a rip off..you do not physically own the copy! If i did want to listen to music on the go I'd rip my CD's onto a computer and transfer it to my ipod! Didn't you think that would be obvious?
@@TheMusicTimeMachine. It's still digital when you rip it on your computer, isn't it? I also do that sometimes but I'm not gonna buy the whole album on cd to get a single song I wanna listen to. You know you can like something without hating on the other options right?
@@99xara99 But I'm not buying it in that format, that's the whole point I'm getting at, if you or anyone else wants to take that route knock yourselves out, it's just not the route I'm going to take. Bands to still release singles in CD/Vinyl you know..granted it's a lot harder to come across and will cost more but they're still out there. I tend to buy the full album even if it is just for one track, just on the off chance (And in most cases pays off) they're other tracks i do like on the album so it doesn't end up being a complete waste. It's a personal preference, i personally think it's taking the most of musical experience/interest away from you..you don't get no artwork, no lyric booklet, don't get to see the additional instruments used or guest musicians ect or extras you get with boxsets ect which is stuff i like in my collection..then again i have an incredibly huge interest in this kind of thing..hence why i have almost a thousand cds, 200+ vinyl ..physical media..that's actually worth something..quite alot of it is worth more than i originally paid for it as they have become rare or limited release.. digital media is worthless really.
@@TheMusicTimeMachine. Yea ok I don't buy digital music either but I use youtube and spotify to listen to music.
*If you sell everything within a year you will have sellers remorse, guaranteed. Don't rush, start small. Created 3 piles....*
1. Bands you know you truly care about, frequently listen to & want to keep collecting.
2. Bands you don't care about b/c you've stopped listening to them.
3. An undecided pile where you'll need more time to think about what to do.
*In the end keeping the collection of bands you "really care about" will likely reduce your collection by 70% or more giving you more room you need.*
That is an amazing collection. Not just the usual Motorhead, Purple etc. NWOBHM stuff, Praying Mantis, Tokyo Blade, Satan, that's incredible! Gillan! Great collection of heavy metal and just in general - an amazing taste in music, too!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@KylePeterson1980 Great to see Powerwolf included. Savatage is my all-time favourite band and you got it. You appreciate good music. I've got full discographies too, but nowhere near as many and I see a lot of rare stuff there. Since you like that NWOBHM style, do check out the Finnish band Tarot. Great band... heavy, catchy, ballsy. Excellent vocals, and a bass guitar you can feel, not just hear.
I hope you didn't get rid of your CDs because you have some awesome stuff! It looks like a rock/hard rock/heavy metal library!
You have a great collection, I'm glad to see it's not all Heavy Metal. It's like my collection all different kinds of music, don't sell them
Don't know how I missed this one! I would think twice before parting with physical media, awesome collection brother! 🤘🏻
My brother got an external cd drive and it plugged into the usb of his new Honda. Works great in case that's important to you still ! I don't see myself getting rid of the cds anytime soon and thankfully bands online and places like the exchange keep the dream alive haha
I have all my cd's, and I'm keeping them. I play them on my Bluray player, and I'm too stuborn to part with them. I purchased a new car last summer, and made sure it had a cd player. Downloads don't have booklets and pictures.
I wish I could put a CD player in my company car but not allowed and I’m not passing up a free car and gas 😂.
I'm into records and cassettes but since I'm a huge metalhead I'm checking it out
My last will is to be buried with my CDS collection. I couldn't sell my CDS.
That’s a great cd collection Kyle I have a small heavy metal collection myself I think a lot of it for me is nostalgia.but it does take up room like you said they do still hold value I sell some of mine From time to time if I don’t listen to them cheers dean
I listen to CDS. Metal CDS do def hold their value.
Charred Walls of the Damned is my faaaaaavorite.
😂😂😂😂
Oh my god, that is some collection. I would hazard a guess that its probably worth a quarter of a million at least, you have some incredibly rare stuff especially the late seventies early eighties Brit metal.
I see you like the Move also, I actually lived across the road from Roy Wood when I was a kid, he lived in a tower block of flats with his mum and dad even at the height of the Move. He only left when he made a lot of money with Wizzard and he offered to buy his mum and dad a house of their own but they stayed in the flat, amazing.
I also see that you like T.Rex, they were my first ever concert way back in the freezing cold February of 1976 at Birmingham Town Hall in the UK.
Rock on dude.
I love your dedication. My collection is huge too. I been collecting for 47 year's all Metal. Don't do it. Each cd tells a story.
Wow! That's a great collection!
Bro, we don't know each other
.but please keep that collection.
Your kids will go through that collection and see what daddy loved and was all about..even write a journal for your kids bout what some of those albums meant to you..
Very lovely cd collection you have there owesome great bands
Looks like you always have to get the whole discography as soon as you get one album of a metal band ;)
that collection is insane
Dude, how do you find time to listen to all these albums? 😅 Very cool collection by the way!
I just got done watching a vinyl record collector video now I'm watching you.
Normally I don't listen these types of "soft" metal (heavy/speed/power/thrash/prog), however I like some (Blind Guardian - Nightfall or Slayer - South of Heaven), but this is impressive collection, sir! /m\
I know I'm super late for the party but holy shit what a collection! Your early 80's metal and NWOBHM collection is incredible. As I write this its coming up on 2 years after you made this vid. I wonder if you have decided to part with your treasure? I hope you pass it down to your kiddos or future kiddos. Easy fix, buy a killer CD player.
I can watch this 1 million times and find a new band every time
Hey mate just discovered your channel. Awesome metal cd collection and on a side note I am also a massive WWE fan. Big fan of Randy Orton and Little Miss Bliss. Looking forward to watching more😀🤘
🤘 metal and WWE fan you are good in my book
Just keep the collection. What you’ve invested and how awesome it is you would be stupid my friend. Kick ass collection. Take pride in it.
Huge streaming fan because of the ease and accessibility...but nothing beats physical copies.
Awesome indeed 💿⚡
Guau amazing, thanks friend for show the cds collection
In the U.K, the Ozzy "Speak of the Devil" album is "Talk of The Devil "
Well I had to check it out! Rock on!
Great collection Kyle, I agree with you i enjoy music more on cd's, I too have a cool collection just sitting in the garage in storage boxes but dam i used to live at best buy every tuesday to buy the new music and movies...I agree if something happens to us our wifes will sell all of our stuff cheap...
Tuesday at Best Buy was what it was about back in the day!
thats a amazing cd collection. just curious if dust is ever a problem when there like that on a shelf
No issues
You are a CD fan like I am... You will regret it if you sell off everything.. CD is still a high quality listening option. MANY high quality cd players are available through amazon and other sites. As far as the car, you can transfer cds to usb memory cards, and play them in the car. Keep what you have. Enjoy.
Sick collection. Sick shirt. RIP Lemmy
Wow fuckin Wow!.... Holy shit bro!!! This is the video i wanted 🤣. Theres too much here to dissect ha. Your clearly my fuckin friend lol. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎸🎵💪
Just incredible! I thought I was knowledgeable about metal. I used to read the magazines and follow the scene. But still quite a few bands I hadn't heard of in your collection. Got a little nervous that you didn't have Queensryche but then I saw the CDs during the walk through. I'm a huge fan of their earlier stuff. Did you ever listen to the Galactic Cowboys? I was way into them back in the day. The range of your taste is incredible too. And those Motorhead and Megadeth guitars... wow. You're not kidding when you say it was truly the greatest collection ever.
Never did get into the galactic cowboys
what do you prefer if you buy in de schop a cd everything is oke our you like just you cd with jewel case? i like that more than the cd's you can buy and vind in the schop
I’m fairly newish to your channel, several months or so. Did you end up selling?
Hi....what FIST cds do you have and are you interested in selling them?
killer collection i have the same exact taste but i also am a huge punk/hardcore collecter
I'd say to back up every single one of those CDs into your computer or external hardrive before even considering selling them. That's all CDs are ever good for these days and honestly I highly recommend keeping them anyways.
I have them backed up in multiple places
i could never part with a collection like that having hard copies of you’re favorite band is one of the best things as i have all the music online i still get cds and cd players aren’t that expensive but i don’t know you’re money situation but i would definitely get a cd player if i had all of those
I have a ton of CD players
@@KylePeterson1980 oh
@@KylePeterson1980 so if you didn’t sell them
Question , stranded on an island what one CD would you take ? Appetite for Destruction for me
Super deep cut but it very well could be demon night of the demon.
Kyle Peterson I’ll check them out 👍👍👍
Did you ever sell the collection Kyle?
You have a massive CD collection, must be 10,000 CDs there. I'm only at 700. I see you're a die hard Motorhead fan. Do you have any ANVIL?? I also see you have no Triumph
CanadianCharlie64 have all Triumph and most of Rik’s solo albums. Just a handful over 10k total. Have all Anvil albums
Dude I had like a thousand CD's at home and I moved this year and I only took 5 with me.... :( Tough choice.
Although you did bring some unfortunate facts to light. You made alotta sence as well. How long can we hang on? Things change whether we like it or not.
Breaks my heart
Sell what you don’t desire but keep the stuff you truly love. The relationship an individual has with music is priceless!
But if you happen to sell that cky stuff lemme know ;)
I buy metal cd’s in hope that some of the money makes it to the band so they continue to make music and also I hope if they see some sales they may do a show in our city. Not sure if that’s what really happens 😀
Scottyboy Downunder I had a buddy who’s band was signed to RCA records. The four guys in the band split a penny for every album sold. Definitely the best way to support a band is buy their merchandise these days and go to shows
You’d be crazy to get rid of that collection,I’m betting that you would eventually regret it
I was just about to say this. I know the regret I had when I sold a chunk of mine. Nowadays I aim to complete the discographies of bands I like and NOT sell em
HI JUST WATCH YOUR VIDEO AND WHAT A GREAT COLLECTION YOU HAVE A LOT MORE THAN ME I DO LIKE ALL TYPES OF MUSIC METAL AND ROCK N ROLL I HAVE JUST 2000 CD AND 70 CD BOX SET I COULD GET NOT RID OF ANY OF MY MUSIC I ENJOY IT TO MUCH PLUS YOU CAN'T GET EVERY ALBUM ONLINE KEEP COLLECTING BETTER TO KEEP IT I LIKE TO HOLD IT IN MY HANDS CHEERS
the Ozzy's Diary of a madman/Blizzard of Ozz and Metallica's And justice for all Box sets, are awesome! I want them pleaseee!
Love me some Primal Fear. I have their complete discography.
Have you thought about getting a Walkman I have a Walkman ? Which Judas Priest album do you like better Point of Entry or Turbo?
what are your favorite Iron Maiden albums list as many as you want?
what are your favorite Metallica albums that you own?
what are your favorite Kiss albums that you own?
Favorite Ozzy albums that you own?
Do you like and do you have any Motley Crue, Twisted sister , Cinderella?
Point of entry for priest. Metallica kill em all. Kiss the first album. Maiden powerslave
@@KylePeterson1980 I like Point of Entry
Metallica Ride the Lightening
Kiss Destroyer or the first album
Iron Maiden number beast.
nice motorhead collection
Killer collection

I love kiss and 80s metal
Great collection! 👌
How many CDs do you have nowadays?
One thing in the UK it’s not status quo
It’s staytus quo😂
That’s how I’ve always said it
Congratulations! how many CDs do you have? Thanks.
Over 10k
This breaks my heart since I'm just starting to collect music.
Why don't you buy a CD player?
😂 I think I explained it all in the video
Hi.. I have a little question about your collection.. How big is it right now.? Mine is over 30000pcs are you at Discogs.?
No. 10987 cds
@@KylePeterson1980 Cool.. What sorry you do not have it, would have been nice to see what else you have.. Oh sorry if I sound cocky when I mentioned about my collection.
Did you end up selling everything?
Yep at the height of Covid. It was big $$$$. I still have them all though digitally
Sick!!
Yo, i just started collecting heavy metal/punk rock CDs. Do you have any tips or advice of how to keep them safe?
Keep them out of direct sunlight go easy on them don’t scratch them and always put the CD back in the case when you’re not listening to it 🤘
@@KylePeterson1980 alright, thanks man! Rock on! 🤘🏻
I’m looking through the whole video waiting to hear great band. Focus. Focus is my favorite band ever. Waiting for you to mention Focus. No Focus? I have all Focus albums and bootlegs that haven’t been released officially. And The Beatles too. I’m happy now!
Just buy a CD player! You can get one for $100-300. If I had such an extensive CD collection I'd never get rid of it!
You can get a cd player for 20$ dude. I have many cd players
@@KylePeterson1980 Okay, I was thinking you didn't have one as you explained that cars don't come with them anymore. Just as a side note, I'd never buy a CD player for $20. Did you actually sell your CD collection?
@@CBT5777 yep put on the glasses you missed it
Don't sell your collection. What I do, is load all mine on my I tunes and play my I pod in my car. I like to have the physical collection.
blackwaterpark011 can’t even play my iPod in the car anymore. It’s not Bluetooth
@@KylePeterson1980 I would get a custom stereo installed that has cd/ipod friendly or you could still load on your phone from itunes. I have pretty large CD collection at least 2000 and growing. I dont think physical media is going anywhere soon. People love to have something physical. Look at vinyl.
I didn't see any doors albums, are you a doors fan?
Not my thing
Do not sell your collection. I have my iPod and upload my stuff to iTunes. That's how I listen to my music. I bought multiple books and store stuff that way. I got rid of most cases. Made a lot of space. Love me some Ozzy, Megadeth, and Ac/Dc. You got a good collection. I tend to buy the greatest hits and sell the older customers and made a lot of money selling some rare stuff. It was hard but had to be done. I got more space for figs now.
Aren't you missing show no mercy for the slayer CDs?
Demon Blade no

Awesome video bro! I am dissapointed that they are not alphabetical. I used to be just like you but I just ran out of room. I had like 1200 at one point. I still have 1 air tight tub in my shed full of them. My kids tell me to sell em all but I just cant part with them yet. Yeah cars don't come with players anymore. It is sad. Apple music is awesome though. Peace Dom
Is Apple better then amazon? I’ve been thinking of checking one out
@@KylePeterson1980 If you have an Iphone, Apple Music is a no brainer. You can get 3 months free, the sign up for a student for like 3 years at 4.99, then 9.99. I have not used Amazons at all, so can't give any advice on that.
You’re nuts. I have over 500. The only way I would part with them is when I die. Maybe I will have them buried with me.
I only have about 200 CD's in my collection so yea
A thrilling, spectacular collection, unique in its vastness and variety of music….but, astonishingly, there appear to be no titles from one of California’s finest bands of the late 60s: Spirit. Nor is there any solo work from Randy California or the group Jo Jo Gunne (a Spirit side project). All too good to be ignored!
You may be one of the only people that have ever brought up Spirit to me. I’m not really a fan, but the Led Zeppelin deal was always intriguing.
@@KylePeterson1980 Those lilting acoustic intros to Spirit’s “Taurus” and Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven”….the similarities are uncanny and mischievous. With potential royalty back payments running into millions, it came as no surprise to learn the Randy California estate had instructed its lawyers to act accordingly. Spirit - never as commercially successful as they were critically lauded - can feel hard done by. Not for the first time Led Zeppelin has been accused of flagrant plagiarism.
@@markcusack6335 definitely not the first time
Well, first of all I'll tell you that I just wouldn't ever sell such a great CD collection! not ever in my whole life! in fact I would even like to even die with such a great CD collection by my side! if I just had it! but if you really must sell it! that is: if you really must sell such a great CD collection or if you just have decided to sell anyway such a great CD collection no matter what then at least sell it at a great price! man! then at least please don't sell it just for a cheap price! or for a very cheap money amount! because it would really be quite a shame if such a great CD collection just came to be with a person that really wouldn't care very much about it! or with someone that wouldn't really appreciate it! very much! and one of the best ways to have at least a certain certainty that the buyer loves this great CD collection is to at least get that person to pay a great price for it! for such a great CD collection! and please don't think that the physical CDs are going to be useless! or out of style! just because of the other electronic ways available now! to keep and transmit music! because if even now at this times even the vinyl LPs have made a very great comeback to the collector's market then the CD market would really last for as long as the mankind exists! and therefore that great collection it's not going to become useless! but priceless! oh yes! and in fact very far from getting useless that it's going to become priceless! or at least it's going to be worth a very high price tag! which would only keep on rising a lot! for every year to come for as long as it exists! Remember that art is also a great investment! and this is art too! and a very good art! by the way! so this too it's also a very good investment too! of course!

I see Papa but I don't see a single Ghost album???
Have every single one you must have missed it
To really be honest with you Apple Spotify and other Digital streaming services do not give the artist much money but it's the Digital streaming services that make money hand over fist I understand that a lot of people want to get rid of their CDs and DVDs but here's the thing people want to go to the digital route watching their movies and listening to their music but once they take it down it's not yours anymore it's theirs can I see the people you might want to keep them but some people would think that it's stupid but you know what a lot of old schoolers or keeping their things I know for what I am and my collection is huge just like his and I listen to the Scorpions Iron Maiden Judas Priest Twisted Sister Kansas the list goes on and on and on and even Iron Maiden and yes I do listen to some country to some of the old and the new but like I said once you sell your stuff and once it's gone it's gone it would take a lifetime to get it back you have to search high and low to make that happen.
I have this entire collection backed up in four different places
