The bouncing is done by the rider. Sleds don’t do that on their own. It takes “ body English” to make it happen.. the only reason they do it is because side it adds to the show. It’s more exciting then a sled that just skins flat across
When will they learn that doing wheelie water crossings are the worst thing to do as when the skis come down and make a big splash it gets the belt wet and down you go, hahaha. 🤣
Keep thinking that every time I hear the sleds smack the water and hit limiter, like you’re playing the risky game of sinking it when you could easily get across lol
Silicone the cracks on the belly pan, tape up some vents, and your golden. Power helps but water on the belt, she's done, very entertaining at someone elses cost dont hurt 🎉
Love the guys that pop up and down and drop the skis right on the edge and crash, idiots, wonder how many these newer sleds ended up on market place after this lol
Same here in Southern Ontario Canada. My sled hasn't left my garage for 2 seasons now for lack of snow. IDK why things are getting warmer but there's no doubt they are!
Yea no snow In Wisconsin either.. had a good blizzard first week of January, trails were open for about two weeks and then it got warm and no precipitation
Super entertaining, love how much longer the crossing had gotten by the end of the day. 😆
Yea there was only 9.5 inches of ice this year.. normally it’s 2 ft. So she kept breaking this year lol
That was fun to watch because almost everyone is learning lol
That’s what makes it a fun event to watch.. a lot of these guys are barely 18
Honest question, why do some snowmobiles bounce across the water and others just smoothly cross?

Right on 👍
Thank you for watching 🍻
“It’s like a beached whale” 🤣🤣🤣
I’m surprised it took this long for someone to catch that lmao 🤣… I thought I was funny for once
The older sled drivers are way better than new😂
The older guys know that’s if you don’t make it it is cold as shit!! Lmao
Was this anywhere near the old Pickerel lake Lodge? We used to go there years ago. Thanks for posting.
This is in Wisconsin. I never remember a Pickerel Lake lodge… but there is a Pickerel Lake in damn near every Midwest state lol
@@grizzlygreg8922there’s a couple here in Michigan 😂😂
There seemed to be more crashes after crossing this year. No snow so the ice must’ve been really slippery.
I would say it played into it for sure. Landing on snow would definitely give more grip then glare ice
Day after on marketplace: ran when parked, just needs carbs cleaned.
lol, yep that’s definitely a joke you hear a lot when at the event
its crazy how much power these sleds have lol go straight up and down on water lol
Right! It never gets old watching it every year. Very entertaining day that’s for sure
How come nobody goes threw the culvert anymore?
I don’t know.. takes the right person and correct sized balls to do it.. haven’t seen it since 2022
So how cold was the water?
It made your nips hard, that’s for sure
What state is this?
Northern Wisconsin. 🍻
Wisconsin.. gmueller is correct
They almost didnt have it everyone up here was flippin shit like ok tell us we cant.... but we will LOLOL
It's open early this year
It has been a weird winter.. no snow and a bit warmer
@@grizzlygreg8922 same in Canada where I live , the lakes usually get over 3ft of ice there's maybe a little over 1ft same with the snow
Haha some people get soooo cocky and then sink it! Love it!
It’s a blast every year!
When will they learn that doing wheelie water crossings are the worst thing to do as when the skis come down and make a big splash it gets the belt wet and down you go, hahaha. 🤣
Oooo I hear you there. The wheelies add to the show so that’s why they do it. But it comes with a bigger risk for sure 👍
I never thought about that, having never done it, but makes sense 😂😂😂
Keep thinking that every time I hear the sleds smack the water and hit limiter, like you’re playing the risky game of sinking it when you could easily get across lol
@@evanriel yup…it seems fast and flat is where it’s at👍…I’m old…but watching fellahs do this gets the blood pumping 😜👊🇺🇸😜
Skis are supposed to be 6 to 12 inches off the water and steer with the track a ski grabs your done
Been sledding for 50 years. Never understood this. However, I love seeing these idiots sink their 10, 15, 20k sleds.
Yup me too! Adds to the fun

Cheap entertainment for me that’s for sure! I just record and video every year. I do bring my Rzr up and rip around the lake but that’s about it
Polaris’s seem to be taking a gulp of water
They sure do!
Love the guys that pop up and down and drop the skis right on the edge and crash, idiots, wonder how many these newer sleds ended up on market place after this lol
Yea there is no benefit to doing that other then it adds to the show. But hey, it’s cheap entertainment for most so I’m not telling them to stop lol
Lol, gap getting wider the longer it went on😂
Biggest one since 2018. That was my first year going. Will never miss this event
@grizzlygreg8922 we appreciate the videos over the years.
No snow like in Minnesota, I have zero miles on my sled so far this season
Same here in Southern Ontario Canada. My sled hasn't left my garage for 2 seasons now for lack of snow. IDK why things are getting warmer but there's no doubt they are!
Yea no snow In Wisconsin either.. had a good blizzard first week of January, trails were open for about two weeks and then it got warm and no precipitation
Why does everyone try bumping wheelies…just keep momentum and skip
No good reason.. just to make it look more cool 😎
A little duct tape goes a long way
Exactly right 👍
people are dum they go way to fast
That’s what makes it a fun event to watch. You never know what you will get!
