this is true, but even without that it is pretty difficult to play 3v1. Viper did a few of these by now and I think the level that still is possible to beat is around 1600 HD 3v1 or 1700 voobly 2v1.
Wow, these games were the highlight of my week and surely many others as well. I love Rage of Empires, Viper and AoEII in general. You all did a great job at entertaining us! But beware if you visit RBTV someday: Donnie will get a heart-attack! ;)
The beans had a great communication, which was the key! Marco carried the game and also supported the other two players with stone and food. I'm not sure if all the other 3v1 did the same teamwork as good as they did?! However, good game!
Seriously I think Donnie killing all the workes at vipers woodline near the end without beeing noticed also made a huge impact on how the game went from that! So he might not be the best player but his moves were not so bad at all ;)

Here's an idea for next time: 1. Stick with Malians - like you said, they are one of the best civs. They are also my favorite. 2. It's a 2/3 chance, but Marco should be on the flank. Even if he's pocket, you should man at arms/tower rush him hard, building barracks toward him. He hasn't demonstrated that he builds archer line at all. Malian civ bonus lets your infantry resist arrow fire a little too, and if he uses scouts you can add spears. Add blacksmith/stable to completely deny him and scout harass the other two, but build seige immediately in castle to keep up the pressure on marco. 3. Florentine doesn't really harass and goes straight conqs, while donny might archer rush which you hold off easily enough with towers at home. For his conqs, you will have to harass his base first and make him react there, which you've seen in this game he does not handle well. While he's distracted at home, you'd send heavy camels at the conqs in a flank pattern to cut down on those numbers 4. When you get to Imperial, Farimba! Malian light cavalry beat hussars 1v1, cavaliers beat paladins 1v1, heavy camels....etc. They make excellent Imperial raiders. I personally amass an arson gbeto core with light cavalry to snipe tcs. 5. Donny can probably be killed with champions/capped rams since he loves trash and crossbows dont' do well against rams. +3 extra pierce armor on malian champs is no joke. They are missing blast furnace as a trade-off, but do enough without it against trashbows with ram support. A lot of things to go, I know - but mostly infantry line stuff you'd get anyway. Not too many archer-line upgrades, which situationally are useful for tc defense. Both their unique castle upgrades are cheap too, which helps. Anyway, those are my thoughts, good luck next time!

I know you didn't stream or record your pov, but now that it's over I was wondering if you'd be interested in recording some commentary using a couple of the recs on aoczone and uploading them here? It would be really interesting to hear you talk through your strats, particularly with the benefit of hindsight. And seeing your tournament play would be something different from the usual casual games (not that I don't like those too). Anyway, just a thought!
It was really an awesome game and you played really well. I would like to comment on rocket beans, I actually watch them a lot too, but in this game you had with them. They had a lot of bonus, first one you had to comment yourself, which cost a percentage of concentration, they had Marah. They gave advices to each other, you didn't have someone to take care on things going wrong. Even Marah have them hints and reminders.. So unfair. Also that didn't play by them self, they took every advice from Marco. Which is like Marco is playing them. But anyway, I see it like that, you played very well, they not really. Really great match! It was super entertaining! I think if you manage to put more pressure on Marco as it was your plan, the whole team will be weaker altogether. Florentin and Donnie are a lot stronger when playing with Marco in a team, because he literally manages all their moves and tells them what to do through strong communication. If he would be more distracted though, he would have a harder time doing so... I hope next time you win! :D
I watched all Rage Of Empires-Episodes and I think, out of my amateurish view, following strategy would be the best for the rematch: Take out Florentin/Spain entirely(!) in Feudal Age first, constantly Knights till that town center falls. While you're doing this, you should wall! If you take out Florentin, and don't get harrassed that much you should easily win against Marco & Donnie :) Best strategy because: Marco is too strong, when you have to micro against Florentins Conqs, I think!
How could a Camel run faster than a horse. I dont know how to play 1v3 but i think you should focus on one of them so u are 2v1 when hitting lategame. Like Tower rushing the spanish guy in feudal while u def your base from the other 2. Cuz i think its pretty difficult to handle all 3 on the same time.
Dude Viper i think this 3v1 was a little too much for any humang being... The only slight chance of anyone winning this was delaying marco in early feudal but u were unlucky there, anyways I'm still surprised as in how well u resisted this, gg wp
Great fun to watch. I think the only way to win 3-1 is kill one of the 3 and take there resources like gold and stone. Easier said then done as investing heavy in Castle age siege yet still not falling behind someone who is 2K HD rated is hard. Maybe try Berbers again and try and get siege on one player dead and hide under lots of castles as you will want tons anyway for UU... 2V5 would be interesting too...
I think a 2v1 would go a lot more in vipers favour, because Donnies little pressure and of course the time viper had to use for harrassing donnie was still impactful enough to make a difference
florentin should get his ass kicked for choosing spanish all the time. donnie might not be the best player, and he knows that, but at least he plays every kind of civ and tries often some new strategies in every game and keeps commenting / entertaining the audience. ps. sorry florentin, aber spanier nerven langsam. xD

GG Two of RocketBean's players are obviously well above 1900+. Can't beat them alone. This was just stomping on the snake with iron boots. Was fun to watch nonetheless.
Only one is well above 1900, yellow has decent micro but usually lacks good eco and tilts easier. Especially in the first game he got a lot of stone send from Marco to get his 4 castles up faster for the Conq spam.
next time you should play with Donnie a 2v2 against Marco and Florentin. Donnie isnt that good, but hes a big fan and im sure a dream will come true for him AND it should be a little bit more balanced than this 1v3
but they weren´t slinging. Marco, the best guy of rocketbeans was sometimes giving 1-300 ressources to Donnie or Florentin when they needed it for something important but there was really no slinging going on. Plus Donnie didn´t really do much in both games

Its a game, dude. There are also mangonels, scorpions and rams which are magically firing themselves.
They actually have less base armour in the game so they're faster than armoured cavalry. Light cavalry is faster than camels.
