I mean, frame generation is the same principle used in NVidia DLSS 3 They're just trying to compete, at least FSR 3 is open source and will be available por older GPUs
I mean, I'm pretty sure TVs have had realtime frame interpolation since around 2010 as a standard feature (for 120hz+ TVs). So the technology is definitely not new.
oh, this is sad. I did not know they dropped it after GCN. It also baffled me back years ago why this was a hidden and restricted gem. If I hadn't specifically searched for video framerate interpolation, I would never have found it/bluesky FRC.
Agree for that, but I can understand why AMD decide use Forspoken, coz Forspoken insane requirement just to run 720p 30fps make absolutely no sense to everyone, even Crysis back in 2007 still make sense with their system requirements than Forspoken.
Some games had fg build in. Black Desert was one I think. I don't really care about open source. FSR looks like crap for the most part below 4k. DLSS doesn't just upscale the frame. It enhances it. And the DLAA technology that's built in usually makes things look even better. And I'm not just talking out my rear end. I tested this on my own computers and monitors and gpus. Meaning: fsr versus dlss.
nothing wrong with adapting old softwere, build on a good foundation.

I mean thanks for the input Jeff
thanks for the update
The nvidia one is old as well.
Svp4 supports nvidia optical flow, even on gtx1060
Yes its the same technology and svp4 is realtime

the good thing is about open source
isn't any new software just a re-tweaked, adapted, or improved old tech
nice vid

It's one of those features where you'd think would be built into video players by default but still isn't.
And the problem is?
So?
Really wish they would pick another game besides Forspoken to highlight. No one played that piece of crap.

so I'm the first viewer after 30 minutes Sad
Don’t be sad XD. It’s just a beginning.
@@MetallicFear I love this positive outlook!
