- Indonesia is hosting its annual Super Garuda Shield military exercises. Ahead of these drills, the U.S.’ new F-22 fighter jet made a historic tour, flying over three South China Sea nations-Indonesia, Brunei, and the Philippines-and landing in Indonesia and Brunei for the first time. We discuss how Indonesia and Brunei are tackling their South China Sea claims in the face of China's assertiveness and how their security relations with the U.S. act as a hedge against pressure from Beijing.

Economic wise, Indonesia depends on China nowadays, on the other hand, Military wise, Indonesia depends mostly on the USA now, so it would be interesting to see when/if the situation getting more intense between China & USA, which side Indonesia will took 🤔

I think Indonesian army is very strong and lot off experience war strategy and clever , so I think Indonesian is very important for other county like European, Middle East, Japan, Korea, ASEAN and Australia, America.

Simply matters to discuss regarding in asean countries was unstable due to policy in asean itself, however some countries wake-up as Chinese and pilipinos conflicts is ignited, the main reason was china in reality is not following the international law, especially the Hague court of arbitration order in favor to the philipines in regards to their complaint in sea dispute. Some nations is just like a little monkey can't act exactly what the right thing to do as they noticed that china in forced their own law in South China sea. Now they realize that something was wrong need to be corrected in asean members of state guidelines, however some nations like Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar is heavily under Chinese influence, Chinese make this countries as a tool in asean majority to block any appropriate decisions for asean to counter Chinese barbaric behavior in the sea.
Mongolia will become part of Asean ?? Oh why not, its welcome they dont have territorial dispute to Asean. Maybe North Korea, Taiwan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Northeast India should also apply to be part of Asean. The more, the merrier & crazier! lol.

As a Malaysian, I don't think my country needs a "Garuda Shield". Why? Because Malaysia is a member of FPDA, Five Power Defence Arrangements, which is one of the strongest military alliances in the world consisting of Malaysia itself, the UK, Australia and Singapore. The FPDA is enough to keep China out of the South China Sea. Besides, the reason why Malaysia does not need "Garuda Shield" is because the host of this exercise is Indonesia, our rival nation during the K*nfr*ntasi. It's all about the pride and dignity of the Bangsa Melayu or “Malay race”.
