Did you adjust the carburetor? plss explain
I did not, it is running within tolerance even with the muffler mod. If you find yours needs adjusting, there are brass plugs covering your adjuster screws, take a small drill bit and drill a hole in the brass plug, put a screw in that hole and pull the plug out, that will give you access to the adjustment screws
i did muffler mod to my ms170, feels like not more power, should i buy adjustable carburetor?
That all depends how well the saw is running
You didn’t have to adjust the carb by doing this? Think you would be running rich
At the time of bench testing, the saw sounds fine. I would agree though it certainly would be running a little more rich. I don’t have a tach for the saw though, so the first time I run it in a log I’ll do some adjusting if necessary
Hacking holes in a muffler isn't much of a mod. That's why it's not running rich
@millertime8835 this is literally one of the biggest things going on with husqvarna 5 series, its the first mod or thing people are doing to them. I wouldnt touch a untinkered exhaust on a 550xp after doing it to my own saw. Different saw once done
