❤ Meditation and prayers every morning, givings thanks for what I am grateful for, including my 14 years old feline companion, a few true people in my life which now includes you Russell and also, the ecological community that I have become part of. 2 different Mantras said aloud or in my head throughout the day helps too. Mindful of my surroundings and others. The 12th day tomorrow of Cold Baths and it's absolutely fantastic, especially when followed with meditation and prayer...Cold baths in the mornings will now be a permanent part of my day for the foreseeable future - Also Wims 3 minute breathing exercise.
Thank you for all you do. Much love and respect to you ❤

I recently started going to the park every day and eating healthier. Going to the park daily helps me keep my mind clear. I take nothing but the house key. If you drive to a park, I'd recommend taking nothing but your car key. Maybe a snack or some food to have yourself a little picnic. I've experienced a sort of revelation each day after spending enough time alone in nature at the park. Go somewhere that you find beautiful or captivating because then your complete attention will go to nature and then you'll just say, "Feels so good to be alive baby!" Actually that's what Ralph Smart would say but we can say it too haha

When I was in rehab and had nothing to be grateful for, someone told me this. "Instead of complaining about traffic or gas prices, be thankful you have a car"

@Michael Martin yes friend! This this! This! I have auto immune diseases, brain tumor, yadda yadda, and a lot more. I practice making my gratefulness list everyday! Very similarly, I am not living in a tent dealing with my illness, I can use the toilet when ever I want, I can eat, sleep, dress, shower, do art etc etc in my own home with my family and pets everyday. It helps so much. I like the example of the car, I'll be adding that, and suggesting it at my AA group. Peace everyone! 🌟💖

I wish Russel could interview me so I can tell him about the happiness trap, how loneliness, depression is produced through the gate of happiness. One example is a child who goes to mom crying because she was rejected at school and mom said oh don’t cry have a cookie and you’ll feel better at 12 years old, and that cookie became her antidote to rub off years of rejection and sadness until she winds up therapy or obese later in life. The cookie being a symbol of happiness lead her down the trenches. Hence, once you choose a desire or a method to be happy, that very happiness is already bridged with agony. fear, depression etc. The trick is to revolutionize the understanding of happiness so that your state is neutral and therefore enjoy the sunset, not that the sunset brings you joy or happiness because once something needs to bring you happiness you are dependent on it and therefore will run to the sunset every time your sad, There is so much more..damn.

I have been on my own healing and spiritual journey for maybe 6 months now and meditation, yoga and journaling have all become pillars in my healing but the thing that made the most immediate changes and provided the quickest relief for me was breathing exercises. I have struggled my entire life with ADHD, trauma and a variety of revolving-door mental health diagnoses and simple breathing exercises on a daily basis help me so much with being calmer in situations and less reactive. It's helped me slow down and actually recognize the emotions associated with triggers rather than missing them entirely and going straight to panic or rage. I do believe meditation and journaling are crucial elements in being less reactive and more present, but the breath work has been both the biggest source of overall relief for me and truly the simplest of all the practices to consistently maintain. Just sharing for anyone else who may be able to benefit from what's helped me. Thank you so much for this video Russell!

Completely agree Russell. Thankfully I was drawn to meditation, mantras and mindfulness to address my anxiety and depression around twenty years ago and have never looked back. That being said I have to keep my thoughts in check as I know if I allow myself to go down those mental paths that have long since overgrown, they will soon clear and become deeper and more ingrained, the longer I stay there. Instead I change negative thoughts to positive ones, I find gratitude for everything in my life and voice those regularly. I also speak positive I Am mantras that lift my energy. I also make sure to ground by walking at the beach or spending time barefoot in my garden. The best part of my journey has been being able to share what I have learnt with my three (now adult) daughters and over the past five years, friends and people who have come into my energetic circle. I was drawn to learn Pranic healing around eight years ago and this has expanded my own healing and enabled me to heal others. Love all your work. Love and blessings from Perth, Western Australia 💗🙏🏼🌸✨

I don't do the same thing everyday but I use different things regularly. Belonging to groups, as you say, even if you are better, are a great leveller and ways to help others. So well said! I personally love the gratitude list and affirmations and meditation! Walks on a beautiful nature trail are great as well. Our internal state of being is really the root for wellness I believe. In the past the only way I’ve climbed out of severe depression wasn’t with antidepressants or any other chemicals, it was with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, spiritual practice ( meditation) affirmations and just really getting in touch with Source Energy/ God. I’m not religious but I do ask for guidance from Christ, Angels and Guides from time to time. I really try to do a lot of visualizations on what I do want ( not what I don’t want, BIG difference ) and I stay away from the news ( negative worthless stimulation) and negative forms of media/ gossip. I once heard that our minds are a garden and we need to constantly maintain our minds just like a garden. You pull the weeds out ( negative thoughts and feelings) and water and nurture your mind (just like a garden). Having said all of that, sometimes negative thoughts and feelings are a deeper sign of an unmet need. For myself I’ve found that’s often worth exploring ( but not dwelling on in victim mode) and seeing if there’s anything I can do to address/ fix the unmet need.

    Thanks for the great video.
Going back a couple of years I was battling some serious anger issues after an accident left me with life changing injuries. I was complete mess and extremely reactive to point where my 30 year relationship nearly ended as my wife couldn't cope with my mood swings any longer.
One day I came across a video on your other channel where you mentioned commune and your twelve step recovery course.
In desperation to turn my life around, I signed up.
These days I'm in a much better place. I still have to check my feelings but these days I approach life with optimism, reminding myself regularly what I have to be grateful for. A wife who thinks I'm worth sticking around for despite my issues.
I meditate, pray and practice yoga.
    I couldn't be happier.
Thank you Russell for guiding me on to this path 🙏❤️

Yes, being grateful is paramount in mental health ... when I was in the throws of severe depression, my shrink told me to try to count my blessings. I've heard this sentiment before, but it really hit home at the time, more so than EVER. Simple, but very powerful, and it helped me recover. And another friend told me to stay smart, stay safe. Those statements are now helping me to not go down a downward spiral of anxiety, depression and complete helplessness in this country and the world. Things are getting pretty intense, so thanks for the vid, Russell. It was good to have that reminder, but I still feel overwhelmed. But, I'll keep hangin' on. Cheers and blessings to all ...

Before spiritual realization I was deeply depressed - feeling very lonely and miserable, dark thoughts and disconnected. It really helped me when I realized that my mind and body are not REAL SELF. It's like you create a little space between real self and your body and mind. I didn't have any 'bright moment' of enlightenment, but all of the sudden I realized I wasn't suffering anymore and more importantly - this would never come back again.
