This keeps blowing my mind. Cant wait to see the Facade and the Mobile data sets, especially long range mobile scanning from a car would really be usefull for our use case.
This is awesome! I would like to raise some questions followed by: 1. Can we detect the details on the bridge? (Water leak, and concrete cracking on the bridge) 2. If so, Does the stand-alone lidar sensor capable of scanning these all information? If not, Is there any additional sensor? I am looking forward to hearing back from your perspective since you have tons of experiences with Lidar. Thank in advance!
Thanks for sharing the results! Instead of just colorizing the point cloud with the photos, can you run a photogrammetry set with the captured photos? Sure seems as though it would fill in the missing pieces. I suppose aligning the two data sets would be challenging but the results could be spectacular.
If your gonna be doing lidar on a site and your gonna be there for 1 hour for example and your battery last 30 minutes do you carry another battery or another drone ?
Is the point-to-point accuracy good even without a GNSS base station and rover? Like do you need the ground control points to ensure that the “size” of the point cloud is accurate?

Im still learning about LiDAR and your vids are helping a lot. Thank you.
Awesome!
Very excited to see the new mount you were describing!
Some nice scan there , hope you keep putting more content to let us know more about laser and remote mapping.
Thanks!

Always take more batteries

You can use GCPs if you like, they provide you certifiable survey grade accuracy and precision ground truthing. Just add in a PLS to verify.
Oblique angle colourised lidar with a lawnmower flight plan... I have the M300... gimme :D Would be awesome for the Digital Twin I am working on.
sales@rockrobotic.com we even take american express.
With this lidar, could make an ortomosaic?

Thank you.
We can generate a CAD/BIM model based on this data.
absolutely.
I would really like to speak with you. I've been surveying for 25 years. If you could please reply to me. And maybe we could talk about some things.
