Thank you for making this video. It has always bothered me how misunderstood and villainized Marie Antoinette is. The way they sought to humiliate her at the end was so cruel and inhumane. As usual the quality of filming and research are brilliant and your voice and narration gave me chills💚💚💚
Great video, it appears that she really was a misunderstood person. Thank you for all the work you put into each of your videos, they show how much you respect the past.
There are a lot of aspects of Marie that are very misunderstood. History has made her responsible for things that she really didn’t have any power over.
Marie Antoinette also needed to use the bathroom and pleaded with the guards that were taking her to the guillotine to let her go so she didn't wet herself on the guillotine. They did let her go beside a barn I think and she got Back in the cart to go to her death. Madame touseau was actually made to make a death sculpture of the heads of Many under the threat that she would meet the same fate if she refused. I took 3 years of French in highschool and did a report for French class in French about the Frenchman credited with being the master of the revolution who in the end ended up on the guillotine himself. The king and Queen actually spent alot of France's Money helping us during the Revolutionary war with England and this was one main reason why they both were accused of treason to France (a excuse of course) and no Marie Antoinette never ever said Let them Eat Cake.
@@EvelynEdwardsWhat actually did happen to the boy? I read that he was forced to testify against his mother on false charges of incest and that he was psychologically abused by his jailer.
Thank You very much. That was extremely well presented and extremely tragic. Humanity has learnt little since those barbaric, cruel days. Women and children were particularly vulnerable.

They took her throne, her dignity, her husband, her life, her children… they couldn’t show her an ounce of mercy on anything. It makes my stomach turn, thinking how cruel human beings can be to each other.

Tragically, her little son whom she fought for, suffered appalling treatment. He was kept in isolation in a dark, damp dungeon, starved, beaten and mentally abused. After two years of such torture, he ended up going mad, making repetitive animal sounds. His sister in the next cell heard everything, and was haunted for the rest of her life by her little brother's agony.
Thank you for your very riveting & poignant narration, gave me chills. Noticeably the impact on your narration. It is a travesty how savage mankind, in any decade , can be. To just throw away life, little innocent children… 💔💔 She was a child herself when she came into this life.. Always excited when I see notification of a new video. You give a voice to many who had theirs snuffed out.. Great job Ohio 🇺🇸
Someone planted trees at the site. Also, someone who met her recognised clothes that she had been wearing when he saw her at Versailles. There are surviving strands of her hair so maybe they could DNA test and see if its a match. It is a match with the reported heart of her son that was passed around for centuries.
This is the first time I have ever heard something positive about Marie Antoinette. I have always heard the "let them eat cake" quote. It reminded me of this: "Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy."
Did you know she never said “let them eat cake”? As in never. Didn’t happen. That story began circulating 100 years before Marie Antoinette was ever born. More incorrect things are said about her than almost any female in history.

There were several things still on her body that identified her - a stocking, two elastic garters and some hair.
