Louver Equipment

At Dakota Automation we provided a full range of louver manufacturing equipment to the window coverings industry. The broad base of customers that have incorporated our louver equipment into their production operations (from small mom & pops to the largest window covering companies in the world) have discovered that these machines free up vital manpower and improve floor space utilization, product quality, and factory productivity. The machines are flexible enough to run multiple louver widths and a range of louver lengths and overall louver tree sizes. The machine capabilities, and the easy to use operator interface, mean that employees can be up and running in minutes.
At the heart of these offerings is the Dakota Automation Louver Tree Assembly (LTA) system. This machine is the most powerful and automated solution for processing louvers and creating a louver tree. The operator selects the louver length and the machine sets up. They then load the louvers to the infeed hopper and the rail to the machine. With a simple button push, the automated system springs to life. A staple is placed in each louver before the louver ends are drilled and pins are inserted into the holes. The pins are feed from custom bowl feeders. A second stapler then staples the louver (through the first staple) to the rail as the rail advances in the machine. The machine can be configured with an optional router station for fabricating notch in each louver (often required for a hidden rear tilt feature in louver trees. Once complete, the louver tree is conveyed from the system and can be removed from the conveyor by the operator.
Additionally, we offer specialty fabrication saws dedicated to louver component processing including louver saws, stile saws, and frame saws. These pusher-style saws can be configured differently but each features a servo-controlled infeed pusher with gripper that positions the lineal for feature fabrication. Within the interlocked fabrication enclosure of each saw, the lineal is fabricated before being transferred to the saw outfeed. The outfeed of the saws are configurable to meet the requirements of the operator.
