the sole isnt super grippy. but i did experience the shoe as grippy as vans due to their grippy glossy bumper/taping
Review Erik Ellington’s new shoe with that weird Chinese company. Li-Ning. I’ve been skating some and they’re pretty wild looking, but extremely comfy and they skate alright. They’re a tad stiffer than I prefer, but I think you’d like them.

I like the way some of the shoes look and respect the founder, but I don’t support Chinese companies (as much as possible) because of the connection to the CCP. Educate yourself. Read “Stealth War”, you will be shocked. It has nothing to do with the Chinese people, whom I greatly respect. The government is corrupt and evil; they get a piece money 💰 of everything.

I absolutely love these shoes as a weird flowy transition skater. I can’t go back to Vans now they’re that good of a vulc shoe. They’re only £70 in the UK too so there’s no real reason to get Vans or Cons over them when they cost the same.
Why is it different? Is it more flexible? Or more narrow?
@@ladykorsica The boardfeel is better and rubber compound is really grippy so you can be really precise with the board in them. I find it really easy to scoop up big ollies and tweak things out in them because the board just sticks to your feet. They’ve put a new insole in them and made the rubber compound harder wearing since this video, those take away from the boardfeel a bit, but they’re still great.

Shoes have been great for me on pair #4 the silhouette is semi dressy imo & I quite like to wear the new pairs with some nicer outfits in the city & stuff. Biggest draw is quality of material for me the supple suede works great for me but I see your point about lack of structure

Ye I got a pair and was like eh they're alright. I had the same issue where you feel like you need the tighten your laces because they feel like slippers. Ye they are super durable but the board feel just felt weird because they felt like they had alot of dead space inside the shoe. I also made sure at the skateshop to get the smallest size I could handle so they really felt attached to my foot. Maybe they need a better foot shape mold or adjust their sizes length and width. But ye I don't think I'll be trying them again unless they come out with a new model or change some stuff.
Facts had to go down a whole shoe size to get mine to fit and because I have wide feet they’re a little too narrow at the toes, which makes skating longer sessions a bit more taxing on the feet. But they’re durable as hell and the board feel for me is pretty spot on, def excited to see what they got next

They will definitely last upper will blowout before the the sole wears out tho.
It's an acquired taste, the shoe feels incredibly bulky compared to your average skate shoe these days. But they will last forever and the top of your foot/ankle bone has never been safer from impact, lol
If anything like the upper on my slims, they'll last 6 hours

Good review man. I also agree that these appear to run a little larger than say, most Vans ive had (if you like your shoes pretty snug you could prolly go down a full size). Again comparing to Vans, the rubber on the bottom and the sides feels a little softer and seems to wear faster. I love the look and durability of the upper..hasnt been shredded from my terrible heel flips. If you want a little more grip (at the expense of shoe life) and can find them for a decent price id give them a shot.
I watch all these videos and never switch up the shoe I buy. However, yes I did support the skateboarder owned shoe company and Bluetile skate shop and picked up a pair of last resorts. I can't skate them the way I skate but they are good with by cruiser board just chilling.
I absolutely love these shoes. I recommend trying a low top model

I basically had the same experience as you with the sizing, I got a pair that fit a bit big and once I added the insole it fit a whole lot better.

I didn't realize these were $100 bucks, I don't see that as a problem cause there's plenty of Nikes and adidas that can be priced that high, but one of the big things people bring up against Cariuma is that they are expensive...at 89? No hate, I think both shoes are cool, all I care about this if a shoe looks alright and skates good 🤷♂️

In the UK they’re only £70, the same price as most of the Vans Pros, so they’re way more of a good value purchase. It’s weird seeing people review them as an expensive shoe because that’s not how they’re skated here.

My friend bought a way of the LR low top and they look nice to me but I immediately noticed the sole is super thin and no breathability is a big turn down since I live in a very hot and humid country. I need my shoes to be 50/50 canvas and suede otherwise my feet will sweat after a 2 hours session.
