This is what is realatable to 90% of people on here. 200k Chopped Y62s and 200 series are awesome but none of us watch for that. Jocko and Jesse have bought back the everyday backyard realatable feel and I love it.
Great video. About .5% of the population can afford a chopped Y62 or a chopped 200. This is extremely relatable to the great Aussie battler in struggle street. Jocko and Jesse have bought it back to what we love. Well done crew 👍👍
I bought a ln167 only because you inspired me. And showed me the fact that I didn't need a 100k + rig to have some fun. Love watching your DIY projects to the pony and can't wait to do all my stuff. Gives me the dedication to get it all done as it's really not that hard and you just make it easier
Love the end result. Now this is something most can do (and afford). As much as I love the 200/300 & Y62, chopping a $100k+ rig and spending another $50k+ on accessories and gear is not for the masses. The whole colour combo you've chosen works. I love it. There was recently a similarly raptor painted green 80 Series for sale online. That too looked the part in that colour.
Since you're into military history... my grandfather was stationed in New Guinea during WWII. He spent some time in Australia on the way and always talked about how he loved the Aussies he met and how he'd always trade cigarettes for that good Australian beer! Cheers from U.S.A.
Inspiring stuff- I’ve am I going Land Rover project here in the uk and don’t have a garage or a large shed to work in and it gets difficult to get motivation. Seeing Jocko and Jesse working on their own projects does help to keep me motivated to get my own finished!
Yep I feel your pain, I'm part way through doing a Jimny and hate being at the mercy of the weather, it always starts to rain just after you get everything setup 😂
great video! As alot have said its more relatable and most viewers enjoy seeing the old rigs being kept alive rather then the new 4wd's that no one can really afford in these tough economic times. I guess you have to cater for all types in these videos but watching this seeing you have ago fixing the old 4wd's is what we want to see! heck i even got myself a gq patrol and im trying to rebuild it, turinging into a tourer for less then $5k all up! keep it up.
Spot on boys, I did a similar makeover on an '89 D21, but used a roller and some colorbond paint from Bunnings. It transformed the old dog into a proper tuff truck lol. Love this kind of content, give us some more!!
The pony look's wicked and, I am now 100% ready to Raptor coat my '94 Troopy. I don't have a place to do the prep work myself so, the panel beating, small amount of rust repair and prep for the raptor coating will be done by a professional panel beater. This will cost a little more but, I am all good with it. I think off white with black bar work for me. Thanks for the timely post, Jock.
You're welcome mate - glad to hear you've found a way to get the job done! Post some photos in our Facebook group or tag us in a TikTok etc when you're finished. Keen to see it 👍
I’ve stopped watching you guys tour, I only watch this for the cool shit you and Jesse get upto with the old pony. Gives me motivation and knowledge to get shit done on mine as well. Thanks heaps and keep ‘em rolling !
As a 2nd year apprentice panel beater, I just want to say even though jocko Is not qualified, u guys made the video very professional. On how to do it the correct way. Awesome video as always👍
Way to go bro keep on bringing it back to cheaper achievable builds high dollar builds are great but most of us can't afford them love your work keep it up
Personally I don’t think the show has all that much range when it’s either a cheap Toyota or Nissan or a modern built Toyota or Nissan. Those are great but I wouldn’t want to pretend including a cheap old Lux is adding some great new dimension to the show. And no adding a triton or mux is not expanding the range either.
The places to watch out for rust on these models are under the side guards, which could be avoided by putting a tube behind it to drain the water entering the cowl directly to the floor. Other spot are the rockers, and the frame section near the fuel tank, since they nearly touch each other, mud and moisture could be collected there.
Hey jocko My 4 year old son loves you and watches everything with you in it.. he’s a hilux lover as well , as we had to buy one also.. we also go wheeling together.. I just wanted to shout out for him.. he wanted to send you a message.. graham has raised a good son in you
One of these days, in my spare time with my extra money, I'm gonna coat my 85 Ford pickup like this, in beige. After I rebuild the front axle and fit a locker and convert the old 6 cylinder to fuel injection. The list is never ending, but she'll be a regular beast when she's done!
That’s the best it’s ever looked. I remember watching the show when the pony showed up. Y’all have no idea how much joy y’all bring a old country boy from Mississippi if we could get Shauno to cook so Cajun jambalaya on the show I would actually freak out. Good show tho
mannnn Jock you treating her well i recon a pop up hard top tent straight on the tub. put the fridge on the backseats, couple draw sliders under the tent one for cooking one for stuff, now thats living
This was awesome, Jocko. If you're doing another vid in a similar fashion, could you please go over fixing up a knackered, rusty chassis, along with any welds, under sealer etc? My mk6 2009 Hilux isn't fairing too well in the UK climate, and I'd ideally like to get many more years of use out of it as can't afford a replacement truck!

Facts 💯
Haha well said brother 👌
100% agreed
Fact this show is getting back to its roots of going full send with your mates in affordable 4wds no over modded mall crawlers
💯 I wonder how long it'll stay without panel damage. Pity, as it's looking really schmick.
So crazy to see you running one side of the show on your own now! Killing it Jocko and that pony is looking more like a stallion these days onya mate!
Thanks mate! Appreciate it 👍
Jocko don't get the my little pony 🐴 look bad just keep it clean up and cool 😎 mate that's truck is to good 👍😎
Thank you Jocko and Jesse, you’ve brought the spark back to the channel, all the content you have produced lately is so great to watch
When did it lose its spark lol
This has really made a difference to the car for not too much money. Really transforms the old pony
Great video. About .5% of the population can afford a chopped Y62 or a chopped 200. This is extremely relatable to the great Aussie battler in struggle street. Jocko and Jesse have bought it back to what we love. Well done crew 👍👍
I'd love to see "Darryl" get the same love and attention one day like The Pony is getting 👌
I reckon Jesse needs to rip the old carby TB42 out and put a TB48 in Daryl
@@nicholasturner5159 id say hed have something in the wood works
But it's not a Toyota so the second best car of the fleet behind the dmax will get pushed to the back and always made to look bad
They won't do that then a 5000$car would shit on all of there others
I’d say Jesse is for sure on that already, but I reckon they’ll rock the paint job for as long as possible

Was hoping too see a vid like this, good too see the old lux getting a bit of love don’t see much of them around anymore, keen to restore mine aswell
Top favorite show.
This is the kind of article I would have read in the paper mag.
Thanks Jocko. Thanks for the ‘retro’ 4WD247
I’ve always liked the pony but now I think I love it. That green looks sweet.
great video!

The poney is the new sooty! Always get excited everytime I see her just like I use to with sooty!
Would be sick to see the lux do a big trip touring hard tracks
That Hilux came out fantastic!!! It's like a whole new truck!!!! Absolutely awesome!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love your videos, you’re my inspiration for my own LN65 build
Stoked to hear it mate! Post it in our Facebook group 🙌

@@4WD247 Will do bro. Looking forward to puffing out my chest with pride standing next to my refreshed Troopy.
That's what we wanna hear! 🤩

I’m a little disappointed you didn’t go with pink raptor on it to stay true to the pony… but olive drab has never been a bad choice.
The green looks great with the sandy canopy!!!
Dang, she is looking sweet. Good match with the canopy. I bet you get out in the morning just to see her stand.
The Pony looks amazing! Love the Raptor colour. What a transformation.
That looks so good. Nice to see the prep been done right, end result ends up looking so much better.
Spot on, mate! Success is all in the prep!
Me and my boy did our GU in white Raptor to save time and masking. It took us 2 full days and ended up looking great. Perfect for a working 4wd.
Done a mighty fine job Jocko I enjoyed your step by step building the Pony up great effort by yourself and your mates 💪💪
Love the way the luxy turned out. Looking great. Can't wait to see Seano's sooty MK2 back up too. Gotta do a trip with the two of em.
Hopefully not too rough now that they’ll be so schmick!
Love seeing jocko doing every day fella type of things keep up the good work fella gives povo blokes like me something to aspire to 😂😂😂
That green looks great! You went from dented and pitted to what is now the best looking truck on the show!
She looks fantastic mate 👌 good job jock and the boys
Absolutely in love with the choice of colour
Spray oil in the cavities and it will REALLY slow the re-rust down.
Fantastic episode 👍
Good guidelines for diy projects at home
One day I hope to restore a hilux like this. So many skills to learn! I love this content and the Sooty resto also!

Hey mate I’ve got this problem on my 85 hilux and was wondering if you had any photos of the tube setup?
That looks awesome love following jocks progress
Love the video Jocko, thanks for the paint run through as I am about to do my GQ

That's looking 👌 so pretty and come on Jock the Luxie would not be complete without battle scars and it's good luck you have leftover raptor liner
Great products for the job! Nice one, Jocko!
New car again mate! Very good stuff inspired me to give it a go on my ute 🍻 keep up the good work jocky!!
Good to see that the pony is still on the show after three years
Witch is good because like like this model of hilux

it's been 3 year already hmm time just goes and goes and goes .... and the pony look great.
That’s the best it’s ever looked. I remember watching the show when the pony showed up. Y’all have no idea how much joy y’all bring a old country boy from Mississippi if we could get Shauno to cook so Cajun jambalaya on the show I would actually freak out. Good show tho
