It Must Be a Ghost at Rockaway Mall in New Jersey...

Welcome to our Channel, It must been a Ghost pass through why they are very little people in the mall , inside the Rockaway Mall now that quarantine restrictions have been lifted in New Jersey. My guess would be today 95% of the retail stores are open for business, but only 60% of the Food court. Rockaway Mall New Jersey'

It was pretty busy before the pandemic hit. Once they shut everything down, retail stores in the mall suffered big time. When everything opened back up, people didn't come back. It hasn't been the same since. Since I was born and raised in Rockaway, this mall has been a huge part of my life.

I’ve only been away from NJ for a year and a half, and it saddens me to see that my old childhood haunt just isn’t surviving well after the pandemic. It’s just so empty! ;~;
But I’m happy to see that East Meets West and Master Wok are still there! Master Wok has some DANG good food.
And East Meets West is just cool. I was happy to find a MUCH smaller local shop in my new area that’s very similar, BUT I grew up with East Meets West. It’s one of the shops that’s been in the Rockaway Mall since I was in high school, though it’s moved store fronts SEVERAL times over the years (the current location you see in your video is the largest to date).
Oh! And if you want the best hand made donuts, GO TO GIO’S!

Yeah we used to hangout here when I was a teenager. Early 2000s it was almost always full… the whole area is slowly dying

This mall was everyone’s hangout spot back in the day. It was always packed. I’m old enough to remember AMC being inside the mall before it moved to where it is now. Those were the days.

i moved away from nj 21 years ago...i think the last time i was there was around 1995

Thanks for posting Rockaway Mall. I haven't been there for 30 years. I have so many memories of that place, as a kid being dragged around by my mom, and going they with my friends as a teen and in my twenties. Wish I could go back and visit it again the way it was.

I grew up going to this mall. I worked at the friendly next to CVS. So sad.❤
