Also during COP when the mithran trackers were running around Windurst like they owned the place and threatening people for information she ordered them to GFTO. And they did, because they knew better than to fuck with her.
It's because she's condescending, arrogant and rude. Those happen to be widely reviled character traits. On top of that, a lot of people didn't play FFXI because it was an MMO released during a time when console gaming was still experimenting with online play, and not everyone had internet access. Couple that with the fact most FF fans played all the other main line games and have a lot of respect for the characters, it's a bit annoying to see this random ewok bitch disrespecting them.

+Joseph Frombaugh Serisly only a noop would play here like this. Sometimes in the right moment Bind is realy usful. But most of the time Stun is the Key to obliterate the enemy.
Not really. Shantotto likes destroying things, but only if they're BAD things. So she's on the right side. Gabranth, meanwhile, framed his twin brother as a king-slayer when he was the real culprit. I'd say that's fitting for a Warrior of Chaos.
@PrinceOfAltea I wouldn't call Gabranth a hero nor villain. He does what he thought was just despite the weight on his shoulders and clinging to hatred. He's like Golbez, a warrior of Chaos by nature but he makes his own just-like decisions. Still, a fight cutscene would have been nice. Sometimes I don't like "invincible" characters like Shantotto because of these types of situations.
@PrinceOfAltea What gave Kain, WoL, Lightning, any of the Cosmos warriors, to determine what is just either? But because justice is debatable that makes the even FF characters more human in that respect. Tidus fights for Cosmos despite that his hate for Jecht is selfish. Cloud fights without knowing his purpose for doing so. OK is calculative and shows wisdom in avoiding conflict. And so on. It's true that the ends don't justify the means. You can also adapt from your mistakes to find new means.

Also during COP when the mithran trackers were running around Windurst like they owned the place and threatening people for information she ordered them to GFTO. And they did, because they knew better than to fuck with her.
Good King Moggle Mog XII she have every right to be arrogant
It's because she's condescending, arrogant and rude. Those happen to be widely reviled character traits. On top of that, a lot of people didn't play FFXI because it was an MMO released during a time when console gaming was still experimenting with online play, and not everyone had internet access. Couple that with the fact most FF fans played all the other main line games and have a lot of respect for the characters, it's a bit annoying to see this random ewok bitch disrespecting them.
Gabranth's already dead, he just doesn't know it yet.
Correct but it wasn't Shantotto who killed him.
Gabranth: *underestimates Shantotto*
Shantotto: "So you have chosen, DEATH."
I can't believe Gabranth got completely obliterated, that's all he had in Dissidia.. this one cutscene and one fight and that's all, THEY DONE HIM DIRTY BRO 😭
@@Omega-jg4oq this isn’t the only scene he has, there is another scenario where he’s the boss with his own cutscenes talking to the player character.
Jecht was pretty chill, though, actually. He just didn't have anyone to be cool with. Actually, I think him and Golbez had some neat conversations.
and Cosmos thought "Chaos, why did you get ALL the silent warriors?"
Dont know if it is just me but Gabranth seems to be the only character whose past makes sense and actually why he is the way he is also makes sense. Why isnt he in NT
because FUCK the developers! they didnt care about him.
they're bringing all veterans back so he'll be back eventually
The original 10 are in the cycle no matter what. All the rest are technically extras.
Good news everyone!
Well hes in nt now lmao
When Shantotto doesnt ryhme... YOU KNOW SHE MEANS BUISNESS...
And then he *fucking died* . . . ~the end~
So this is what Isabelle gets up to between Animal Crossing games...
Wait what?
@@TheBanishedWind I made a joke based on the similarity in appearance between Isabelle from Animal Crossing and Shantotto of Final Fantasy XI. Maybe people didn't get it...
@@The_Wandering_Nerd
More like it made zero sense beyond them both being small.
1:00 there she goes again Ohohohohoho
Gabranth : But it is time to quit the field, little one.
Shantotto : Who are you calling... LITTLE?! I'LL BURN YOU, PRETTY ARMOR AND ALL!!!
Nah dawg she ain't Edward Elric
Having Shantotto for a teacher would be like reading Dr. Seuss for a year... all that damn rhyming....
She's the cutest of them all. 😊💖
Remind me why she's a hero again.
The last war she fought in she won, but ended up decimating everything so she had to quit
And finally, for all her haughty-bitch attitude, all she wants is to protect her nation.
I feel like she would be a great teacher if you want to learn magic, but I would also be terrified if I mess up something simple and she got pissed
Palom is the student.
"I think I'll incinerate you, pretty armor and all!"
Shantotto for Chaos ?
With the added punishment of Bind + Flare, if you snooze during class.
Everytime Shantotto speaks an awesome is born.
The jackhammer in the background definitely pulled this scene together.
I could listen to that laugh all day!
Yea no matter what game she appears in she is always right & her wrong meter is not fixed yet still broken probably by herself
I love reading all the salty Shanototto haters comments. Don't be so mad that she's freaking amazing in conversation and in battle.
She’s been beaten before though 😗
Shantotto vs Jack Garland. Now that’s something I’d like to see.
It is just now that I noticed that Shantotto here actually has a British accent. hahahaha
Gabranth is my favorite villan in Final Fantasy.
Christopher Petellat Entwisle mine is Sephiroth but i also like Gabranth
I like how the closed caption works perfectly for Gabranth and fails for Shantotto lol
Shantotto:"I admired your heart but ur head must be of solid bone"
Gabranth: did we have sex before?
You say that when Chaos has Kefka, Kuja and the Emperor.
That laugh brings me instant joy and shivers of fear
Shantotto: Time to end this man’s career
I haven't played it, but I'm pretty sure she does rhyme. The laugh is also a pretty iconic character trait for her, even though 11 doesn't really have voice acting.
"FFXI A Shantotto Ascension Ending Part 1" kinda shows that Shantotto is definitely the better Black Mage. Possibly more villainous than Kefka, too, if she chose not reverse the Shantottofication spell Domina Shantotto cast (who cast the spell AFTER being defeated by you and your party).
So she is a villain antagonist... Why they chose her as FFXI ambassador..
Holy crap ,now Gabranth really sounds like Basch
I'm actually kinda glad Shanttoto was on the good side. :Ic Even though I haven't gotten to the Shattoto expansion yet, I never really thought she was that much of a bad guy...
Why an antagonist to be main representative for FFXI (online) in dissidia..?
I still think "AHAHAHAHA!" (X, Tidus) is more annoying than "Seriously, seriously, seriously"
+Joseph Frombaugh Serisly only a noop would play here like this. Sometimes in the right moment Bind is realy usful. But most of the time Stun is the Key to obliterate the enemy.
Oh my god, they killed his accent. Goddamn it!
Shantotto is epic xD love that little lady
Shantotto and Gabranth are just like David vs Goliath
Not really. Shantotto likes destroying things, but only if they're BAD things. So she's on the right side. Gabranth, meanwhile, framed his twin brother as a king-slayer when he was the real culprit. I'd say that's fitting for a Warrior of Chaos.
And the best part is, Shantotto won that fight.
By sending him running. It's revealed in a Japan-only Official Quest that an exhausted Gabranth was later killed by Garland and the Emperor.
Shantotto is bae. Alt+3
Fun fact: The actor who voices Gabarth in dissidia also voiced Bloo and Reaper from Overwatch
Better than that. Shantotto's VA also was Dexter, from Dexter's Laboratory.
Shantotto was also Madame Foster.
I play FFXII now, and I hate Gabranth..because he killed princess Ashe father, that is must be his doing... He is villain and his prince Vayne.
damn didnt know shantotto rhyme pretty well
@PrinceOfAltea What gave Kain, WoL, Lightning, any of the Cosmos warriors, to determine what is just either? But because justice is debatable that makes the even FF characters more human in that respect. Tidus fights for Cosmos despite that his hate for Jecht is selfish. Cloud fights without knowing his purpose for doing so. OK is calculative and shows wisdom in avoiding conflict. And so on. It's true that the ends don't justify the means. You can also adapt from your mistakes to find new means.
His accent was just...A PREVIEW!
Gotta loves Shantototto's rhymes
If Dr. Seuss was a homicidal dwarf with a god complex.
Where the fuck did his sexy accent go? SQUAAAAREEE
@xenokil Actually... they do show her fighting in both her mini-expansion and the Khimaira fight for ToAU. She abuses things.
hm good point, goddess or not you don't speak when Shantotto is having her moment.
relishes murder and a nazi slaute to boot: good guy
wants to end the war: bad guy
Shantotto is the best. Get that glass canon build bb!
He doesn't realize he's talking to the Yoda of FF lol
she actually doesnt rhyme a few sentences in duodecim..
in XI... it's 100% XD, including the Ohohohohoho XD
(XI player since day 1 here XD)
@yasheem15 They don't really ever show her fighting in FFXI. But in all what shows of her, she's a sorta lunatic Awesome Doc and a kickass Black Mage.
Wings of the Goddess, Battle of Jeuno. th-cam.com/video/qWfmLw3_GXU/w-d-xo.html
Well, people complained about the job Keith Ferguson did in the first game...so he dropped the accent altogether, and the complainers are to blame
Cosmos thinks: why Chaos got all the SILENT warriors?
Shantotto: "Yeah, yeah. You may believe you are strong, but I am a being so powerful that Ultima ran clinching his buttocks and thong."
Gabranth: "What?"
Ultima: "AH! THAT THING IS A DEMON! A DEMON I SAY!"
I Shantotto is easily my favorite FF character.
awww i loved gabranths british accent i'm brittish :(
always dropping bars on her opponent's
