    Remember watching this game live at home. Lehmann was outstanding that night and rightfully got awarded Man of the Match despite being on the losing side!

    Scrappy game from both teams but both capable of defending and being gritty. Benitez had Liverpool being good at the back and Wenger always had imposing players up to the Emirates era. Lehmann was a beast of a goalie. Loved that guy

    Lehmann was insane this season. 853 minutes without conceding in the Champion's League.

      I think you might be thinking of the wrong season, Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace in the League Cup that season in October. They didn't lose to Arsenal in the League Cup in January of this season, it was the next season, 2006-07.

      @@ashleythomas4112 Yes, now I remember 6-3 it was postponed the original fixture if I'm correct, then they put us out of the FA Cup as well, both at Anfield

      @@SweetT79 Yeah that's right, January 2007 it was. Arsenal won 6-3 at Anfield in the League Cup (Julio Baptista scored 4 goals) and a few days earlier Arsenal won 3-1 at Anfield in the FA Cup third round with two great goals from Rosicky and a fabulous solo goal from Henry.

    Anfield always been a horrid place to go to for us lot. It’s almost as if after 89 we signed a deal with the devil to have endless horrible experiences after that. I can only think of 7 league wins we’ve had there since that day, yet countless hidings and last minute goals conceded

      92-93 Won 2-0

      09-10 Won 2-1
      11-12 Won 2-1
      12-13 Won 2-0
      Not counting Cup wins there, just Premier League.

      @@Tom-ws2zx 6 wins in 35 years (8 if you include the 2 cup wins in 06/07) is hardly anything to shout about is it? In that same time frame we’ve lost up there by 4 goals or more 6 times

    • @Tom-ws2zx
      @Tom-ws2zx หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DMArsenalArchives Yeah it’s definitely nothing to shout about, I actually think that record is quite poor if I’m being totally honest. Post 92-93, I just thought It’s technically 9 wins if you include the cups, but ONLY if you include the LC shootout win there in October ‘19, after the 5-5.
      It’s like at Man United, we’ve only won there in the league 5 times all 1-0 (97/98, 01/02, 06/07, 20/21 and 23/24). We didn’t even score a goal there at all in the league until that ‘98 win.
      If you count the FA Cup wins there too in ‘03 and ‘15, then it’s 7. Can’t recall winning there in the League Cup. Obviously excludes when Old Trafford’s been used as a Neutral Ground.
