This is the way the BBC likes it.
They train you and me to interrupt each other to perpetuate the shitshow of life.
Interrupting your guest and guiding the conversation the way you want it is exactly what the BBC is looking for.
That's why they pay this guy.
The BBC don't give a fuck about Ron Dennis. Just your license fee.

Don’t worry, out of Dennis and Mosley one will be known as one of if not the best team principal in F1 history, the other will be known for a N@zi s*x scandal in 2008.

A great man. Alonzo behaviour whilst with McLaren disrespected both Ron and the team out of petulence. Lewis at 10 went to Ron and they made a commitment which Ron kept years later once Lewis has achieved. Everything else is history. Love him or not, like with everything else, credit must be given where due. Ron also knew the value of of his designer Adrian Newey and did everything to try and keep him at McLaren. The sport would do well to have someone of Ron's ilk in it. Again, great man. Host needs to relearn how to do his job. Interrupting is not hard talk, anyone can interrupt. Incisive and thorough questions, hearing the answer and progressing the discussion.

Agree with many of the other comments here - NONE of us clicked on this interview to hear Steven Sackur talking! "Sorry to interrupt...". DON'T, then! The very best interviewers realise and develop a very skilful technique of letting the interviewee do most of the talking - demonstrating respect for the subject. Yes, Dennis can be accused of pomposity and conceit - but, he does not waffle in conversation, is blazingly intelligent, ruthless in action, and a properly great and unique character - the like of which we are, sadly, likely to see less and less of into the future of (especially) F1. And - what he has to say is always well worth listening to.

To all thhe folks complaining about the interviewer and his total arrogance. Two things you need to be aware of, 1, This is HardTalk with Steven Saqur, 2, Its the BBC
Arrogance is part of their being. You should know this by now

Terrible interview. Interrupting any guest consistently is terrible.

Absolutely gutted this interview was completely ruined by the interviewer. For Ron Dennis to agree to be interviewed is a big deal by any standards but it seems not as big as the interviewers mouth. Thank you Mr. Dennis, from literally millions across the world who watched and willed you and McLaren to victory🙏🙏🙏

I think like Lotus the UK has also lost McLaren as a brand? One considers is that inevitable of most/some UK brands. Is it part of organic growth say?

Rons on another mission to fill his Life With a purpose which is Commendable,I Just Wish F1 Cars Now Had a Gear stick and Clutch and Made Some Sort of Nice Engine Sound,Thats Not Too Much to Ask ?But Nothing Has Changed in Years apart From the Vast amounts of Money F1 Drivers Earn For Going Around in Circles For 11/2 Hours Every Few Weeks.
F1 is No Longer Relevant And Needs Someone With a Basic Understanding of What Makes Driving a Car interesting To Make People Bother Watching And its Not So We Can Look at a Load of People Talking Nonsense Either.

When you love the sound of your own voice and are a bit of a narc, you aren't interested in what anyone has to say. One of the best men on planet earth is Sir Ron Dennis! You would be hard pushed to find better.

Interviewer needs to go back and develop some skills. Let the interviewee finish their sentences at least. By all means bring someone back on topic but Sir Ron is a very precise man and was absolutely on point. He is a great role model for anyone, you can get to the top. F1 is losing out by not having RD involved but other sports are getting a huge boost in his other work. 👍

why do you need a hard talk with Ron? Do the host watch F1? ONLY man in F1 capable offer equal machinery and treatment to their drivers, least to say
