The best way to describe both the flavor and taste is dried cupcake frosting with a slight maple flavor.😁
It has a similar texture as fudge it’s just very sweet but to me it’s one of my favourite candies I love it! It has sorta a maple taste

Makes sense people thought it was crunchy. Stores stock candy corn next to the old fashioned hard candy. Combine that with corn nuts, and of course people get confused if they’ve never had it
Candy corn tastes really good just don't eat to much or your gonna like hate the flavor but it used to taste better but I recommend the pumpkin ones their a lot nicer and they are just yummy

I’m Aussie but I managed to find it somewhere a while ago, and you describing it as a fondant texture is definitely accurate. Not crunchy, slightly chewy.
From the UK and tried candy corn for the first time ever last Halloween. Was absolutely gagged that it was a waxy, soft texture. I genuinely expected it to have the same texture as just a regular hard candy. My teeth were QUIVERING after I had some though 😶

I'm from germany and candy corn always looked sooo delicious to me. Some years ago I ordered a bag (along with pop tarts, reeses peanut butter cups and cheetos) and was very excited...only to taste probably the most disappointing piece of candy in my life 🤣 The texture is so weird and it really was just like a brittle waxy piece of pure sugar with a funky aftertaste. 😭 But that day I just came to the conclusion that most american sweets aint it for me. The salty stuff tho...damn 🔥I dream of cheetos since that day, also combos baked pretzel pieces in cheddar cheese omg 😩👌🏻

Honey is one of the main ingredients
it is supposed to represent 3 different flavors but yes, it is all sugar and very strong.
Think of it like a cheap icing that has set up and kind of dried out, it's not as hard as that texture but it definitely has that kinda flavour profile of fondant/ just pure powdered sugar mix
I have never once heard anyone referring to candy corn as crunchy
for the texture: it's similar to a chunk of soft wax if you can imagine that
for the taste: it's just sugar and a hint of vanilla

I don’t get it I love candy corn 😢 it is really sweet so you just can’t eat a looot of it at a time but I love the caramely flavor and they bring so much nostalgia. They do sell a lot every year so it makes me wonder if it truly is the majority that hate them or just the loud minority being too dramatic about it that makes it seem like everyone hates them.
