This is pretty similar to “Bao”. A woman is cooking steamed dumplings but the dumpling comes to life spooking the woman, the woman then raises the dumpling like a mother. Slowly, she gets over-protective and the dumpling only seems to be drifting away from each other. When the dumpling wants to make his own choices and move out, the woman eats him and cries. Soon after it was revealed that the woman was hallucinating because it reminded her so much of her own son, having similar characteristics. The son then visits her mother bringing their favorite donuts and apologizes to her. (Sorry if I was a bit off.)
