Yes, i have just watched "The Accountant" and heard this brilliant song over the closing credits. I have never heard of Sean Rowe before but will look for more now. Thankyou for sharing otherwise i would have missed this gem.
Hahaha , me too just heard this ten minutes ago and now I'm playing guitar and learning the words. Nice campfire song. Just hope the don't don't throw me in the fire because if my crappy voice. 😂😂
Great choice brother stay strong! May God bless you with His strength courage and wisdom and cover you with His grace mercy and love always!!! Try and always remember… “ Mighty is the man who fights his battles on his knees; For Heroic are his deeds!” (TheWarriorsShepherd circa’09)
I heard this song by chance over a crackled speaker, beneath an amber light soon after I lost my mom. I ugly cried in a parking lot that night. The gravity was cranked up and my shoulders felt like anvils but this song rang through like a liberty bell and lifted my head just enough to keep moving forward.
The meaning of this song reminds me of my homie Ramiro. Passed away too soon. One night we were sitting, and drinking and he turns to me and asks me ""when I die, i want to leave an impact of my name to always be remembered.".........Well my homie, u definetly did make an impact in many of us. It's been so long since u have left but ur always being remembered. And i miss u my G. Keep watching over me and my daughter homie. Love u perro🫡
I never know Sean Rowe before, what a master piece of a song. Everything he sing make sense. I got emotional when I listened to this song. Thank you for sharing this master piece.
My dad told me of this song from the movie; “the accountant”. I searched it up for him on TH-cam and played it. Together we sat outside and listened to the song. We looked to each other and said nothing, but we both could see the teary eyes from each other. We connected to each other in our love for outstanding songwriters.
I hope you still have your dad with you. My dad's been gone for almost twenty years. Not a single damn day goes by that I don't spend a few moments wishing I could talk to him for a few more hours.
The thing we want to leave behind is love. At the evening of our life, that final hour, each of us will stand before God and he will only judge us by one thing--how did we love while given the chances in this life? This world and all that is in it is passing away. This song is more than just leaving material stuff behind.
This song is so melancholy but it definitely made my soul smile. Added to my playlists. A resounding thank you to whomever chose this song for The Accountant soundtrack. 🖤
What a beautiful song, we all relate wanting to leave something behind when we go/die. One day we'll all just be a memory. May we all have the opportunity to leave something behind.
I still say they should have put a small scene in where he left a new truck for the farmer. After all he blew it away with his gun. Left them something behind too.
This song is an ultimate guide to saddness..when we are only here for just a moment..it fades so fast .I can relate deep down we all carry a sadness but all we aim at happiness even at our dying request.
I go bk to what has happened in my life and think what i could have done differently when i listen to this. This is the song i want played at my funeral. Its a very powerful song.
No question this song can have as many meanings as there are stars. Comments I read below, many are how I feel. My own feelings about what I ant to leave behind are only meaningful to me. but, yes I could add this to my own funeral. Brilliant songwriting and I'm a huge follower of Dylan, many years...
I heard this song just as I was about to be sworn in an as American citizen after years living here as an immigrant. And somehow this tune epitomizes America for me. Not sure why. And not in a bad way - it's just America in a song, somehow. Proud to be part of this great country as a citizen - with all its flaws and problems.
Well I'm 78,played professional player until 1973 back at it last 3yrs listen a couple hours every a.m. it dont get any better than this closing tune at my burial party.
This song answer so many mysteries to my universe. I’m not trying to be the best or have all, I’ve made mistakes brunt some bridges. I can’t go back in time and them right. But I can still leave something behind. Glad I live to hear the words of this song.
A generation that has been trained from day one to be a slave to the system that steals our souls and purpose so the elites can eat from silver spoons and drink from golden cups. As a species we are as far removed from what we are meant to be ….while we are here……as we possibly could be. Thanks to the devouring greed of the top 1%.
Seventy years old now an really liked this song when I first heard it, sat down and wrote some thoughts about my life and leaving something behind. Love, Love, Love! WHAT WE GIVE IN LIFE IS WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND.

As a NeuroTypical that has experienced family pathology and alienation that seems to get worse every year including suicide, "leaving something positive behind" seems like a broken dream...and now I have to understand that this song also speaks to leaving lies behind and moving to higher ground with our Creator. There is a reason He sells a lot of books, Mr. Rowe...and if you didn't find the Master in Church, maybe it was you He wanted to represent Him there, so take some time with Him and all those "Books" until you know Him well enough that He is inside you, where He has desired to be since day one. BTW--don't call God a liar because of the poor results from you or others breaking His Law...even if they are masquerading as a "christian." He has consigned ALL to disobedience so that He might show mercy to all! Rm11:26-36 Isaiah1:18, 7:14, 53:1-12 then the John1-21 fulfillment of those prophecies makes sense...along with Luke6:22
I asked my husband for songs he'd like me to play at his life celebration, we had nearly 10 months before pancan consumed his life. I never saw the list, leaving such a list was painful, for both of us. I found it a month after he passed, this was the first ~ and it was his wish for his family, and he left much for many ~
Sorry for your loss. I share a similar loss to pancan, my wife, 6 years ago. I hope you are healing. I, too, found a list. A wish list of sorts. It was something she left behind. Peace to you.
This song is mesmerizing. It reaches to the depths of the soul... This particular song would have been perfect for season 3 through 5 of the Walking Dead in which Bear McCreary produced. Here are some of my favorites: Oats In The Water Up the Wolves Last Pale Light In The West Blackbird Among many that will become great classics. The movie "The Accountant" was a superb performance for Ben Affleck. But what set this apart from others was the chemistry of this music accompanying his acting. No one can possibly even begin to understand what it feels like to live as a ghost; lost in an ocean, vast and turbulent. The director captured the emotion of a troubled spirit trying to find that place.....but just never fitting in, but finally learning to harness those deprivations in the forms of tasks to be accomplished; special operations training teaching him to focus and perform his mission, so to speak, protecting a beautiful, precious life. Finally leaving a part of his mind's treasure with her....."Trying To Leave Something Behind."

Anybody who has ever tried to write lyrics understands this is pure genius.
I write small books and essays. I agree with you. This man has said so much in so few words it is truly genius.
What makes it so unique? I love the sound.
Pure genius indeed :)
So very true. Even just from someone who adores music.... thus is beautiful genius
