Check out Princess Diana’s last three years of her life. What she was wearing was so much like this. Always classic. You always look great. I have a similar shirt you’re wearing by Polo!
For plain short & long sleeve t-shirts, I've always had really good luck with St. John's Bay brand from JCPennys. They have other brands that are also really good quality for an extremely good price point :)
Hi Ciara, allow me a small but important note: jumpers should NEVER be hung on crutches, as they deform. If you did it just for the video, I apologise. In conclusion, I add that what you have shown is exactly my style, since... let's say several decades. Being a mature girl this shows that the classic, simply chic style never goes out of fashion and does not bore - perhaps with a few small updates here and there. Best regards from Italy.
Maybe this is particular to Ireland, Ciara. I live in a place with very old money. Lots of it. And a cardigan over the shoulders is a dead giveaway to "I'm not old money but want to look as though I am". If that matters
yes I totally get you 😂 This is more of a tongue-in-cheek look at the "Old Money" fashion trend which is currently circulating, and with that, the knit worn over the shoulders is definitely having a moment right now 😉
@CiaraODoherty you can literally sit downtown and play "Spot the tourist" 😄. The sweater over the shoulder tourist comes from Connecticut and is hoping to rub elbows with the wealthy by paying $25 for the privilege of standing on some bar's patio (and that was the price 20 years ago), not realizing that the truly wealthy here have their liquor delivered straight to the home 🤣. The Massachusetts tourists are the ones that are wearing the tank tops.
I’ve spent quite a lot of time in Greece and on its islands. Sweater over shoulder is an old money, aristocratic, look there. So it may be regional. It’s where I first learned it 40 years ago.
@@LindaC616So funny! I will be coming to Newport from Long Island, New York. Please tell me what to avoid wearing so that I don't stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks in advance!
I’ve been looking for a video like this for months!!!! Thank you!!!! Can we get some more like this with effortless chic every day street style video next? Love you!
For fit: Sizes were never meant to fit. It's awful, but true. Know your body, know your measurements, and then buy to fit the biggest awxrion. Find a wonderful seamstress/tailor and have your things modified to fit the rest of you. It's worth every penny. I did this for my mother of the bride dress. I am busty. The rest of me is slim. So to fit my bust, I needed a larger size, and my wonderful seamstress trimmed down the mid body and hips to fit. It looked amazing. She even suggested taking the hem up one turn because it was dragging the floor a tiny bit. I adore this shop.
i just found the try channel yesterday and so far i am just madly in love with this woman, her personality when she drinks is just so fun i cant get enough of it your husband is a very lucky man, thank you ciara
Ciara - amazing, clear explication of the Old Money style. I'm looking for the male equivalent of your advice, and I"m guessing that it's not that different from the adivice for women.
Chiming in here...I come from the OG Old Money birthplace....Boston/Cape Cod. Sweaters over the shoulders...yes. Blazers are relatively on women are relatively new unless you went to private school. Vests on women ...nope. Old money is a lot more feminine. Depending on the season there's more color than the current old money trend.
I love these beautiful classic styles but it’s hard to find them sized for the petite body. Would love to see a video on styling for short people. I am 5’2” & 95 lbs.
If you are in the USA then you can sometimes find good petite classic styles at the store called Talbots. Some of their clothes are a little mature for me, but a good number of my great finds have been from there! Another is J. Crew Factory Outlet. The outlet store is more affordable than the main stream J.Crew company. I personally think their factory outlet clothes look better and more classic than the mail J. Crew store. Good luck!!
Would love to learn more how to match and style basic pieces. I have a very basic wardrobe with great staples, but still never really get them to look good together….. just boring. So would love some basic matching tips!
Can we wear classic clothes at university, for example, classic pants, comfortable classic shoes, or even classic bags, or is this style only suitable for work?
I personally think yes! I wear these kind of classic clothes at university. It’s true that compared to others who show up in their pyjamas, I might look overdressed but I don’t really care about that. Also, I always try to include in my style something that is casual (for instance nice silk shirt with some denim jeans, or if the clothes are all classic I pair them with some trainers), this way I avoid being too much! But frankly just wear what you like 😊
Hi Ciara! I am really enjoying your tips for the Old Money look at affordable prices. Are their any videos that you currently have on swim wear and outwear? I will be going on vacation to visit my family in Hawaii, and I would love to know how to maintain the old money style while on vacation, but with an island paradise twist.
My style but I am short and petite frame. How can I work around- to be able to work? know the rules of elongation but many of the pieces are for taller women. I guess you are tall. I get the basics with colors and wear the classic tailored but I think you can’t accomplish for the petite woman . I try but haven’t been successful. I have subscribed Thank you
I don’t know if it’s just me but I can just tell from the quality of clothing if whether someone really is old money or not . For example, the white shirt that Ciara wore clearly didn’t look expensive. I’m not trying to be rude
The very fact people call this trendy style “old money” is just pathetic. Most people dress like where they are from and don’t desperately try to dress like they are from New York. And fyi I don’t know anyone whose actually old money who wears any of this alleged old money stuff. Most aren’t even that into fashion. It’s not to say they dress poorly but they aren’t walking around in trendy instagram items. And the phrase old money in itself scream new money. No one calls it that besides people trying too hard.
Nobody cares about old money or quiet luxury you should wear what fits looks good is comfortable and makes you shine trying to be something you are not isn't good
wanting to look like old money is desperate. Everyone can tell. you will never belong to this group. no matter how hard you try. it is about attitude, body language, language and character. that has nothing to do with an outfit.
Lilysilk? No thanks. I don't support animal cruelty. The striped blouse already 100000 times seen! And too much aggressiv internet presence. 😖🥱 And soon the animal cruelty continues with the obligatory cashmere sweaters presentation...😝

As a simple red blooded guy, this style is really attractive.😁👍

Hi Ciara, i'm very much interested in the jewellery collections you've been wearing. To me, it's so classy. I hope you make a video about them soon.

What is awxrion??? It's not in the dictionary so I wonder if it's not an English word?
probably just a typo!@@joannathesinger770
@@joannathesinger770I can only assume they meant "section" but it doesn't really make sense

IMO: "OLD MONEY" STYLE is the lucky ones among us who've been living in the BELIZE DISTRICT near all those PRIVATE ISLANDS...since the 1800s.

Not usually a fan of Tory Burch but that is a great bag. I've got something similar in a brown but that is really a solid no fuss structured bag.

Some fantastic deals on high end clothes in resale shops and resale shops and online ,,,timeless pieces and I swear some can be worn at 25 ,35,45,,

The people I know who are old money tend to dress in clothes that they have had forever. They don’t waste money on new fashion.
Would you please do a video on summer outfits classy elegant. Really enjoy your channel

Hello Ms Ciara
I liked your the video , but i like to ask you where did you buy your necklace?
I have a question. I'm a dark winter how can I dress old money when most of those colors don't look good on me?
Nice items and they look good on you 👍🏻
What happened to Ralph Lauren? The brand is basically old money.
Loved this one! :)
Absolutely Love this vid❤
thank you angel xx

Thank you ❤
I think that purse is named after Jackie Kennedy's sister. Lee Radziwill.
