Thank you so much for encouraging us to look at ways of styling what we already have rather than mindlessly consuming. A vital mindset shift and positive on so many levels. Content gold.
There are wardrobe management apps like Whering that help building looks with what is already in my closet, also helps to take a picture of something I want to buy while in the shop, adding it instantly to my wardrobe and see how it fits. I can see how I can combine with the existing. This has helped me reduce the impulse purchase a lot.
Indyx is also good it even works out your cost per wear and the percentage of items in your wardrobe so you can see if you have double the amount of tops to bottoms and if you have items you're not wearing it's easy to put the items on second hand apps for sale ❤
To me, you are the best fashion youtuber. Always learning from you thank you! I have the feeling everytime that you have a good taste AND have a good eye and a lot experience.
Here’s a trick I use for those of us who are less imaginative. I look on store websites such as Nordstrom, Loft and Jcrew for the “wear with” ideas for an item or similar that I already have and try to match their ideas to my wardrobe. It doesn’t have to be exact. For example, maybe they suggest black tall boots with a skirt and a sweater, I may only have black booties and a similar oversized or same fabric or color sweater and will sub that in. It works!
Well needed reminder to shop the closet before mindlessly purchasing one more < insert your clothing weakness of choice >. For selling the castoffs or finding the missing link for your capsule wardrobe, eBay is another great option.
Wonderful video!! I do have basics and I have curated my closet over the years. I need to do the “try on” and style my clothes stage. I tend to go for the same “tried and true” outfits. Thank you, Ciara. Great advice and your passion for fashion is contagious! 😊
Ciara, you are the first fashion influencer, helper? I’ve watched that has left me feeling excited to tackle my wardrobe and rediscover my personal style. Thank you! I look forward to watching more of your videos. Best wishes 😊
Its January 2025, and i started decluttering in September. I got rid of trendy, non-fitting, not worn, and donated to womens shelter. I then put putfits together so i dont have to look up anything each morning. Ok, maybe the temp, so i l know how many layers.
I found this really helpful. I'm turning 45 and feel I've lost my mojo when it comes to fashion. Always had my own quirky style but now when I see things coming back that I wore years ago, I feel too old to go back but don't really know what to do. I would love a video on what you'd recommend as basics please. Thank you X X
Trial and error. Do you have any thrift or secondhand stores near you? Take some time to go in, wear your favorite pants and try blazers on, women’s and men’s. Move around in the mirror, slouch, stick your hands in your pockets, etc, to get a feel if it gives you the feel you’re looking for. It can take some time to feel comfortable in them as well.

I do this same thing! With the same stores! I find Nordstrom especially helpful with styling ideas.
Great practical ideas! Thank you for suggesting using Pinterest as a regular wardrobe tool.
Definitely planning a no buy until spring or beyond. I love the items in my wardrobe but I forget what I have. OOTD pics are my goal. ❤ Pinterest .
