A very nice style and lovely outfits that you looked fab in. However, since you've asked for our opinion, I don't think the black MaryJanes are very flattering. I feel that a black flat with no strap would look nicer. IMHO
The square toe on your Mary Jane's made the difference. That, plus the flowy hem of the pant, made them work. I actually think the strap makes them classier, and match the fine strap on The Row bag. I would wear everything in your wardrobe. Diana, although, Ive gone off scarves, lately.
So funny. I was thinking that the flats with straps & a different toe look so much better than the unflattering strapless, heelless flats ladies in my area wear. I do not care for ballet flats on 98% of mature women. These elevated flats look great.
You are a rare breed on TH-cam. You actually understand elegance & style. I was raised by Woman who dressed this way always & I can say that most people on TH-cam have tried to learn style but they don't understand the subtle details
One thing I have learned over the years is that I have 3 personalities living inside me, sporty, classic and boho. I can tell which one is predominate at any time by which clothes I am currently attracted to. If I try to put classic me into my boho clothes (and vice versa), I will feel out of sorts the whole day. It tends to match the activities I am attracted to at that point in my life i.e. hiking versus going to lectures versus painting. Each personality comes and goes and I welcome them all.
Most of your fashion choices are gorgeous! I prefer the white strappy sandals with the lovely white dress, & maybe another bag rather than the white, but to me, I’m not enamored of the black shoes & bag with the white dress. Great video, thank you so much, Diana😘
I adore Catherine Bessette Kennedy’s style, a not too fussy quiet luxury (compared to her MIL). I like the trousers in the video. I find that flowy slightly loose trousers that hit below ankle very quiet and comfortable to wear.
I do wonder how old you are. Jaqueline Kennedy was a total style queen in her day, minimalist with exquisite cut cloth and colour. We adored her classic Audrey Hepburn style. Timeless. She would have welcomed her daughter in law as having an immaculate style after her own example
Hi Diana, Thank you very much for your informative videos! Would really love a “quiet luxury” for petites that addresses winter outfits. I live in California where we have mild winters but travel to colder places. I find footwear particularly problematic in rainy or snowy places.
Thank you for showing us these lovely outfits. Your ideas were more stylish than some of the other videos I've seen about Quiet Luxury...My favourite outfit was the one with the skort..I love all the little techniques you show us how to give the outfit that bit of extra chic..😎😎😎
I love this video. It is exactly my mother’s style since before I was born until now. I showed it to her and she agreed and also loved it. I always remember my mom growing up dressing like this - it’s always a beautiful, classy and elegant style. Thanks for sharing. 🤍
I have a skort and it helps look more polished. I like how you showed stripes. I do have patterns, yet have realized that solid color pieces are easier to pair. Living in Miami color abounds, even if I do a mix of classic and preppy.
A key anchoring element is the Celine belt. It's essential to have a good belt. it is the final point where the eye rests, that, and the neckline back to the face.
Enjoyed the video especially your short hair and style. I may just cut my hair off now and go short. Have you ever done a video on tennis outfits. I play tennis and want to look stylish and could use some ideas on brands and fit. Thanks so much.
Thank you for you comment! I don’t play tennis, but want to give a try to paddle with my sons. My previous video was about athleisure since I wear it a lot during the week. Please check it out!
I love the last outfit with brown Sandale and basket. Thank yiu for givibg US the spirit of quiet luxury. In that point this Video is for shure the best Video on that Issum I have ever seen. Never the less I love rhe sporty relaxed combo wirh the blue Jeans jacket and the Strips jacket. Good job😊🎉!!
I agree! Goellia has a timeless style and high quality fabric however their sizes in bottoms are not proportionate. They run small in their bottms even their XXL not even close size 12-14
Thank you! I think your hair would look great your natural dark hair color! I love the printed yellow top at 10.45👍you have such a cute figure and look great in a mini
Loved the two piece outfit! Most of your examples were wonderful. Personally, I’m not a fan of that last dress (gives cold shoulder vibes) and the example with the tight white pants seemed contradictory to your earlier advice for the style. But you look fabulous in everything and I love watching your channel. Thanks so much for sharing!
I LOVE the mary janes! Since I was 28, I have been taking my clothes to the tailors. I first buy pieces that suite my natural silhouette and then I take it to the tailor. It makes ALL the difference. Its all about balance and creating proportions. I also think loud colours can look VERY sophisticated and beautiful but again balance, 2 colours is enough - one loud colour in 1 item and the rest more muted. Old money has ALWAYS worn flashy colours, don't be mistaken. Old money HAS personality. Wearing all neutral and showing no fun can actually make you look like a wannabe. Also PS, old money doesn't wear cheap brands like Goelia....acetate and polyester fabrics, ew.
No-one seems to like the Dutti Mary Janes but I do! A classic. I also like ballet pumps :) Where are the strappy white sandals from please as you've not included them in your helpful accessories additional detail below. Thanks. I love your channel as you always look stylish and you have a lovely aura. Alas I'm a few sizes bigger than you are which is fine/ I'm happy, but I do find that some designers don't go higher than a UK size 14 eg Rosie Assoulin. Going off on a tangent there but I'm sure you get me :). Even if they went up one size only they'd make more money! Which makes me think that they just do not want slightly larger women wearing their stuff... ? I'd like you to do a street style for your age range if poss. And one on dresses only - your fave dress styles etc. If you fancy doing them that is - thanks again for making your channel vids look bang on & for your hard work :)
I do, just didn’t think about it in this one. The bags are: the Row the black half moon bag, Loewe straw basket and Celine (khaki shoulder bag). Shoes are Mary Jane’s are Massimo Dutti, tan slides are Hermes, black sling backs are mango and nude flats are vivaia .
We are not all a slim and slender as you. I really liked your recommendations, but some of the choices I would not be comfortable with as I have a little bit of a tummy.
Depends on the foot. If you have long feet as a woman, mary janes will balance it out and make it look smaller actually whereas pointed toe black flats will make your feet look even more longer and clownish. Wear according to what suits YOU. These Mary Janes are perfect for the white dress.
These are simply the basics of good taste and restraint. This is particularly important as you mature, to avoid gimmicks or tacky trends. and also to get the most out of your clothes. The term old money style is so annoying because it makes it seem like you are trying to pass yourself off as wealthy if you are not. No. It's just about having good taste and making the most of yourself. Also there is basic good taste element that's coming back in trend of matching shoes bag and belt or at least 2 of them. But the former is coming back and it's to avoid looking 'off'. I disagree about avoiding bold colours. Nobody should inhibit themselves by religiously sticking only to a boring range of neutrals, it's self effacing and dull. Red can be fantastic as either a highlight or a focal point. Emerald green ditto. Or the pastels that are so popular now. However you must make sure that the colour you choose is good quality dye. If it fades and the item becomes floppy or shrinks, it screams cheap. it's the same with knitwear, and be careful to not go too cheap with wool. Cheap wool pills and you get those awful bobbles. Dreadful! Also watch for the bands around the sleeves, neck and waist. If these go the whole item becomes saggy. You can thread through some elastine into a wool needle and pick up that issue. I would definitely opt for a more expensive jacket every time. Synthetics just look awful, and the trained eye will pick them immediately. Not only that, they are stifling in summer and cold in winter and you want to be comfortable that's the most chic of all. IMO synthetics are never a good option, I"m even wary of blends a bit of synthetic is ok for durability. Elastine is the WORST thing for longevity. It's ubiquitous in clothes these days because it's cheaper than doing proper tailoring. But those clothes utterly lose shape and collapse because the elastine just dies. This is from hot water, drying in direct sunlight and washing with detergents that break down the elastine. I avoid it because over the long term you end up replacing the item. I hate it in jeans and pants. One thing not mentioned is to use a spray-on starch when ironing to get a crisp finish. Even a tired looking item that's dragging will perk up when you do this! Or a cheaper looking item will also perk up. It's well worth the effort and it keeps linen from creasing. Don't overdo the starch though. I always iron my clothes to look presentable. An alarming number of women don't do this and it shows. There needs to be a whole segment on maintenance, particularly shoes. People just don't know how to do these basics and wear scuffed shoes they look awful especially the back of the shoe which you use for the accelerator when driving. You can also choose which items you buy which are higher quality and which are lower. Then you gradually build an investment wardrobe that works over time. You can update by changing buttons or making other slight alterations, for instance removing shoulder pads or taking the item in at the waist or whatever.
To be honest I'm tried of seeing old money style all over social media. Every person and their dog is wearing the same outfits on Instagram! It's already over done and boring. It lacks personality and uniqueness! I loved this style before it was trendy but now I'm sick of it. I unfollowed all the fashion influencers who were all wearing the same style and looked exactly like each other until the next trend kicks in!
Do remember Diana looks elegant because she wears a cut and shape to suit her body type. Most UK bodies are pears so half of these looks will nake youlook boxy and dated. I would be a better video cganel if she showed how her stylung would look on different model shapes with different colouring.
I tried Goelia and was SO disappointed. Their items run very small and are only suited for petite and VERY VERY thin women. Why Chinese companies cannot make some sizes for average American women is beyond me. My XL size blouse actually had the measurements of a size extra small by American manufactures. Their returns are not that easy either, there are many steps. BIG FAIL!!!

Absolutely! It's a rich seam to mine here for Diana. Subbed.
Simplicity is elegance.

Oh wow! You sound like me!😊
Great video, but remember that Old Money icon Ralph Lauren designs using lots of subtle paisley and vintage florals.
Most of your fashion choices are gorgeous! I prefer the white strappy sandals with the lovely white dress, & maybe another bag rather than the white, but to me, I’m not enamored of the black shoes & bag with the white dress. Great video, thank you so much, Diana😘

The printed blouse is very nice.
I like all your styles and I follow them because they are perfect for my body and taste. Thanks ❤

Great break down and useful tips. Thank u. Love the white 2 piece set and white dress at the end. Fits u perfect.
Thanks for your video Diana, I prefer to wear a pair of loafers instead of a Mary Jane’s
All outfits are absolutely lovely 🩷
Thank you, gorgeous outfits.. Must look for a good pair of white trousers!
I love all that you have presented and the ways to style I’m a designer an really need an clear idea of old money style
Absolutely lovely classic style tips. A adore it. Thank you for sharing this Diana 😊

Thank you Diana for your work and inspiration. Would be great if you could share your ideas on summer wedding guest looks😀
well done! good illustrations of the style differences
Thanks a lot!
My 3 are paisley, stripes and polka dots!
Great idea, with the shirt-twist, tuck tip (say that three times 😁) Diana!
Glad you liked it!
Hi Diana, I would like to see exemples of Cheks and polka dots, you shown us only stripes 😢
Beautiful clean classic looks expensive ❤
Beautiful video and very helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent advice and outfits.
Loved this❤
Замечательный обзор!👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Just to give us a guide / what size are you wearing in Goelia? Thanks.
BTW, your hairstyle is smashing!
What are those black Mary Jane’s? I love them!
Love your hairstyle! Could you please inform what gel or muss do you use for such a sleek hairdo?
Thank you! Just L’Oréal I borrow from my husband 🙈

I always love your videos. Thank you. (Did you mean "Quiet" instead of Quite?)
Sure! Thank you for correcting my mistype!

Hello ! If only you could write the sizing of Goelia items. Generally Chinese clothes rin small...
Is the big logo straw bag also refering to quiet luxury?
Lovely. Thanks
Will definitely check out Goelia! Good oint I thought!
You should! Just go one size up, because they fit a bit smaller.
What’s the brand of your black mary jane flats?
I’m going to get my hair cut like yours. Y appointment is tomorrow
Wow! Good luck! 👍
@diana GOSS beautiful video 🙏🏻 also what brand is the raffia bag please?
The Goelia website doesn’t have a two-pocket silk shirt, or one in any fabric, perhaps it sold out. Watching 6 hours after posting.
I can't figure out how to get to the link to purchase any of your suggested items? Where is it and what does it look like??
Thank you ❤
I still can’t figure out how to conceal a tummy bump , left from surgery . Tunic shirts do not flatter really . But I enjoyed this video .
I love your channel I just subscribe now ❤
Excellent.
Where are the beige point toe flats from? Do you have a link?
It’s Vivaia
Muy bonita la ropa
Diana... Why don't you ever share links to your accessories?
I do, just didn’t think about it in this one. The bags are: the Row the black half moon bag, Loewe straw basket and Celine (khaki shoulder bag). Shoes are Mary Jane’s are Massimo Dutti, tan slides are Hermes, black sling backs are mango and nude flats are vivaia .
Very nice
I am confused the rose stright trousers are very similar with the pleated white trousers?. What is the difference between both?
Which ones you mean? I only wear white and grey ones . White in silk grey in wool
I loved those nude ballet flats, where are they from?
Vivaia
Nice video! However, the WHITE Dress looked terrible with the black bag and square toed Mary Janes!
I thought it was a risky look, and yet very much in that style ))
We are not all a slim and slender as you. I really liked your recommendations, but some of the choices I would not be comfortable with as I have a little bit of a tummy.

Are any of these clothes not polyester?

Old money don't care about old money style. They are busy making money. This is so silly.
That white skort would be too short for my liking,i don't find short clothes elegant at all.
Apart from this everything is fine.
I just subscribed to your channel. However, Balenziaga should be a no no after a fiasco they produced with their horrible campaign.
❤

Well, the algorithm is a weird thing. It keeps on showing you thing’s you watch the most.
The white blazer top looks really cheap with the pants you are wearing
I think it's quiet luxury. Not 'quite".
Asiik di lihat
Posture and the way one stands communicates as much as the clothes. Not old money here
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊
We don't need to rob a bank but still have to invest in high quality pieces?
I think you mean QUIET, not quite
Do remember Diana looks elegant because she wears a cut and shape to suit her body type. Most UK bodies are pears so half of these looks will nake youlook boxy and dated. I would be a better video cganel if she showed how her stylung would look on different model shapes with different colouring.
Too many commercials
I think that "Goelia" looks like cheap polyester. Not for me.
Shoes and bags are a big no here. Need to rethink this
Non è seta: è acetato!!! In più cinese!!!
The idea is good however most of the pieces you had shown here looks cheap …
material and workmanship just not up to par
I tried Goelia and was SO disappointed. Their items run very small and are only suited for petite and VERY VERY thin women. Why Chinese companies cannot make some sizes for average American women is beyond me. My XL size blouse actually had the measurements of a size extra small by American manufactures.
