Peugeot 3008 2017 Review - Bigger, Bolder, Better? - Car Keys

  • It’s nothing new for cars to change appearance between generations, but the Peugeot 3008 really has had one of the most dramatic facelifts in recent memory, replacing the lumpy MPV styling of the previous model with big, angry SUV looks.
    But a fresh face isn’t all that the new 3008 has to offer. It’s also got an interior that’s arguably even more dramatic than its exterior, along with loads of new equipment and a very practical boot.
    Certainly, it’s a radical reworking of the 3008 formula, but in our humble opinion, it really works.
    In this review, we take an in-depth look at the interior of the Peugeot 3008 including its boot size, dashboard and back seats. We then run through performance, price and finish up with the all-important verdict - is the Peugeot 3008 a good car?

    Peugeot 3008 has just won European Car of the Year 2017 to go with 17 other motoring awards its already won so yes its a fantastic car. Miles better package all round than the Alteca which some sections of the vw loving British media did their best to promote...

      3008 the best car in history.
      The best technology. The most reliable. The best after-sales service. The lowest consumption.
      If you buy two, you get the third.

    Dont worry about the troll going round saying about the build quality on the 3008 SUV, mine is well built, no rattles, no issues and no one else has complained considering that a few thousand have been sold, he keeps rattling on but does nothing to say what the dealer did to recify any issues found (if any), everyone I know loves their excellent build quality and fantastic on road ability of their 3008 SUV's 😎

    I like the interior of the 3008 with the new generation of i cockpit. Hopefully the next 208 which is going to be launched in 2018 will have a similar interior style.
    I am very satisfied with my 3 year old 208. Every aspect of the car is perfectly fine for me and my wife.
    We like the design of both exterior and interior, the car has plenty of room for two passengers and their luggage, the suspension is comfortable, the car is silent, the 92 hp Diesel engine has enough power, the i cockpit gives a very comfortable seating position with an unhindered view on the dials over the steering wheel, the average fuel consumption over three years is about 10 to 20 percent above the official figures (Peugeot says 3.6 liters per 100 km, I say 4 to 4.3 liters per 100 km)
    In addition to that the car is very reliable. Nothing has broken, nothing has had to be repaired.
    Just the normal services, that's all.
    I can recommend the Peugeot 208, the only thing I'm not sure about is if I would buy a Diesel next time or rather take a petrol-driven car. The 82 hp 1.2 liter petrol engine will probably be fine, too. It's even more silent than the Diesel, the downside is the petrol engine needs higher revs, has less torque and consumes a little bit more. On the other hand the emissions are cleaner. This is what counts more for me.

    With Peugeot i cockpit you look at the dials above the steering wheel, not through it. And it works perfectly even in 208, 2008 and 308.

    Had a lengthy test drive and just ordered the gt line. Good review, well balanced, just like the car. Tried the ateca, found it a bit firm but mainly boring and bland inside, but a good drive. If I've got to sit in a vehicle for hours I might as well enjoy what's around me. Mind you if I could afford it the Stelvio looks a jolly decent bit of kit.

    This is one nice car, first car since the DS5 launched both me and the wife have sat in and said wow. It's a nice place e to be.
    The launch engines concern me though. A hybrid option would when a winner using the 1.2petrol, I think.

    • @AdamBoltGoldCoast
      @AdamBoltGoldCoast 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 3008 is now available in Australia. Honestly, I can't understand why they don't sell more of these vehicles down here. I must have looked at a dozen or more vehicles, and considering what is available in the Australian market, the 3008 offers a lot for your money. I'm a rep on the road and cover a large area of Queensland and travel around 50,000km (31000 miles) per year. So here are the big pluses for me and why I think the GT spec is the best of the best for around $50000 AUD... The GT with the diesel engine is super frugal on fuel, it has the best seats over any other vehicle at this price point (Feels as good as a Merc with an AMG pack). Comfort is a big thing for me when your backside is in a seat all day. All round vision is excellent and the iCockpit design works a treat for keeping your eyes on the road and giving you all the information you need in a way that is easy to access on the move. The Mazda CX-5 is a nice bit of kit, but with my long legs the 3008 gives me way more leg room up front and in the back. Servicing costs I thought were originally high, however when most of the competition require servicing every 10,000km or 15,000km, then the 3008 with servicing every 20,000km actually works out well on top when taking into account the distance I travel every year, and the fuel savings that also come with the diesel motor. Peugeot also have a standard 5 year unlimited km with roadside assist. In fact, they have just extended that to 7 & 7 for 2017 plated vehicles that haven't been registered yet... This far and exceeds anything else out there that offers this amount of luxury feel. AND the big one for me... SAFETY!!! This car has the lot. Overall this car actually feels like the future when you drive it. I have had to submit a list of vehicles to my head office for which vehicle I would like to drive and I have put this at the top of the list by a country mile, I really hope they see the benefits of this vehicle and they get me to order one... It certainly will be a great place to work from as my daily office. Even if the budget is tight, I would still take one of the lower specs over any of the other SUV/Crossovers out there.

    Don't know whether to go for this or the X1...what's the best drive?

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shaz Patel X1 will drive better, as in dynamically, (harder set up), this will drive better as in more comfy.
      If you want a more dynamic, engaging feel, you want to look at the Seat Ateca, that is the 'best' driving car out of this class. It's basically a seat leon, which is a golf. Plus more, all based off the VAG Co MQB platform.

    • @CaptainDangeax
      @CaptainDangeax 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit. Nothing at VAG can compare a equivalent Peugeot in road handling. And when you look at current VW, let's call Marty and Doc back to 1955 !

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      CaptainDangeax whatever. It all depends on what how you define drive better. I outline both side of the argument above. The Ateca has better 'involved' driving, the Peugeot a better 'relaxed' driving.
      This 3008 has a very nice inside and very good. The Ateca and all VAG cheap cars just have good functionally, but not very nice. They are all virtually the same, very 'german'. Not a bad thing, but lakes the flair of the 3008.
      So it all depends on what matters to you.

    • @CaptainDangeax
      @CaptainDangeax 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I wrote before, I was talking about road handling. Peugeot is always head and shoulder above german equivalent. 308 mk2 far above vw golf and seat leon, 5008 far above touran and much more comfortable, and now this new 3008 is nailing the coffin !

    Car of the year...

  • @davepage1151
    @davepage1151 ปีที่แล้ว

    This randomly popped up on my feed today, pretty much exactly 3 years after I got mine. Great car, but rather misleading review because it states this is the Allure trim - which it is as can tell from the seats and light roof lining but it doesn’t tell you the amount of options loaded on to this ‘press car’. Power Tailgate, front LED headlights, the front Camera, the panoramic roof and rails, auto gearbox were all options you could but would never add all those together to Allure as it would be ridiculously expensive versus going for a more expensive trim. Mine is Allure trim but has the panoramic roof and rails, automatic gearbox and rear chrome tailpipe options which were likely added at little or no cost as previous owner to me was a very well known ex Liverpool footballer so likely got perks that mere mortals wouldn’t.

      Who the fuck cares about style? You must be an ignorant kid. Quality, refinement, reliability, durability, etc. is what matter. You might buy a car because of styling, but you'll get used to it and won't find it that nice after a few weeks. Quality will stay with you forever.

      derbigpr500 i personally like the exterior of the new Suzuki Vitara. It's inside let's it down, compared to this.
      The audi inspired cockpit is great, and the cloth trim is genius. Real French 'quirkiness' is back. This and the Cactus is bringing the French eccentricity back. I like it!
