@Gursimrat Singh That's not how it works. The combatants are Portugal and the Ottomans, a few Indian mercenaries doesn't make the battle about them. As little as Gallic mercenaries in the legions made a Roman battle about the Gauls.
There are more languages beyond portuguese and spanish in the Iberian Peninsula, which includes galician, catalan, astur-leones, occitan, aragonese and basque, the last one dosent relate to the rest of the latin orientated languages
In general in Europe there are many different languages and cultures crammed in a small area so the difference between Spanish and Portuguese actually isn’t that much compared to other places

But most European languages are quite interwoven with each other, like French being a surprisingly Germanic Romance language (as in, a romance language with many Germanic aspects), German having taken the grammar of Latin, Romanian being a romance language with many slavic influences, slavic languages having Greek or Latin influences, or the mess of a melting pot that is English. Still, there are a few odd ones out here and there, like Hungarian, Basque, Finnish and Estonian, and Albanian. Then again, I’m guessing all of this can be found in other places of the world. I imagine India, with its smattering of languages, is not too different.

And in Germany where I’m from it’s very extreme not with the standard German but with local dialects and many of them are completely unintelligible to outsiders and are only vaguely related to standard German. I can’t speak for other European countries but I know in England it’s kinda similar but as far as I know not as extreme. And yeah in India it’s also very extreme with different languages as far as I know.

Those are Serbians. You can tell by the 4 betas that they use on their shields and banners also the name vlastela means nobility so yeah. By 1520 the Ottomans basically had all the Western Balkans countries.
Croats are more Mediterranean than Balkan, especially since we didn't get conquered by the ottomans for very long and have way more influence from the Austro-Hungarian empire. Balkans would be Bulgarians, Serbs, Macedonians, Montenegrins, Bosnians, Albanians. And also it depends if you are going by culture or geography but either way I wouldn't include Croats (or Slovenians) for that matter as really "Balkan"
Diu is in Gujarat. It had been occupied by the barbarians from Europe. Gujarat of course wanted to get rid of them and reclaim the land. Although, not sure if Ottomans were counting on taking the island for themselves.
The fact that Portugal maintains it's same borders since 1297 probably had a great impact in the language diversion between portuguese and the other iberian languages

They didn't evolve from the same root. They diverge already when vulgar latin distinct between several branch's. The separation in portuguese language was with Galician it was the same language galician-portuguese diverging around 13th century. Castilian was completely different language.
